  1. Size has nothing to do with how well it performs. I'm talking about day-to-day driving, darting in and out of traffic, etc., not "oh it would make it be slower or make AutoX times slower." And no, I don't think the GTO is too big, it's lots of fun to drive, but: 1) If it was smaller, it would probably be even more fun. There's no reason they can't make the Camaro even more fun and nimble, and 2) The Camaro has always been a smaller vehicle than the GTO. The new Camaro sounds as though it will be bigger than the GTO. That doesn't make a whole lot of sense to some people, I'm sure.
  2. Oh, that's sexy. It does look like it could make a nice Buick. A Maserati-like styling direction for Buick would be awesome.
  3. The DTS is most likely going on Zeta, though it's not down in ink. I don't see the DTS getting more than 8 cylinders, however. The ULS is still up in the air more or less, the only info we know is that it isn't penciled in for Zeta, at this point at least. The powertrain info is interesting, but I don't envision a G8 with a turbo four. Perhaps something on Alpha could have a turbo four or six in place of a normal six or eight, but I don't see it happening on Zeta. I could be wrong of course, as that's just speculation on my part. "a very large rear-wheel-drive Cadillac with more than eight cylinders you could do long, long, long" is talking about nothing other than a Ultra-Lux vehicle. He could be talking about the DTS if not for the "more than" part, as I don't see the DTS getting more than 8 cylinders unless we're getting a DTS-V.
  4. I don't think weight is really the issue, as long as it's not terribly porky. The issue here is how long and wide it is. The longer and wider you make a car, the less and less maneuverable and therefore less fun it becomes to drive.
  5. I think this A3-fighter is wrong. They're probably hearing grumblings about the Alpha Cadillac.
  6. What FWD platform are they going to ride on? There are no suitable future FWD platforms for them to ride on. They're going RWD.
  7. Wow, that's awesome!
  8. So closer to GTO than G8? That puts it at about 192 inches long. 6 inches longer than the concept.
  9. Wow, that is much too big. That's much bigger than the GTO!
  10. Well, the real thing is going to have to ave real bumpers. That probably adds an inch overall, no?
  11. The Viper cannot co-exist with the Corvette if both have the same goals in mind as the current vehicles. The Corvette is #1 at GM whether Viper fans like it or not, and the only way the Viper would still exist is if the 'Vette was clearly superior. In that case, I don't see the current Viper's aspiring to own a future Viper, because it would be a different type of vehicle.
  12. Well, at least as far as North America programs are concerned. I suppose it's possible that there is something going on in AU.
  13. Everyone to the East of here (IL) should be prepared for hail. It's hailing like all hell here. Luckily, it's tiny little pellets though. Still, it's going to make road conditions terrible.
  14. What trims were tested? The Tundra seems to be the best performer in all tests, but only Edmunds so far, it seems, thinks to think performance is the most important part of a pickup truck. Quite obviously, trucks are for hauling stuff, not running around racetracks.
  15. I'd say the CLK is pretty nice looking, and the CL is absolutely perfect.
  16. I'm not saying it looks amazing, but it looks like a $45k+ vehicle. It looks classy and expensive without saying "look at me", which is what people who buy Audis are looking for.
  17. Last week, we get 15 inches of snow, this week, it's mostly 40s and beautiful out, the only problem is there are huge puddles everywhere from the snow melting, and in the morning it's dangerous walking to class because the sidewalks are covered in ice in some places. Tomorrow was supposed to be 55 a couple days ago, now we're getting a high of 38 with rain and high winds! Then, Sunday and Monday, we're getting rain/snow! Spring cannot come soon enough. I'm tired of winter, want to be able to wear a T-shirt and shorts, and want to be able to wash the car, which is somewhat dirty even though it just sits in the garage most of the time. Damn Mother Nature!
  18. Aside from the rounded area created at the end of the trunklid, I see nothing similar.
  19. Are you kidding me? That would be the dumbest idea ever. Why would GM spend $13 billion so that they can get a new line of vehicles to sell to fleets? If they want to spend $13 billion of fleet vehicles, they might as well just kill themselves. They should just make different versions of each car (rename vehicles) and sell them to fleets so that they Malibu has 0 fleet sales, the Cobalt has 0 fleet sales, etc.
  20. Well, at least the caught it early, but no recall is good.
  21. The Patriot would be a very good vehicle if the interior was better. Unfortunately it is not very good. I would like to see the Compass do that too... I doubt it could.
  22. The Corvette is also General Motor's halo car. Therefore, the Viper would not be General Motor's halo car (I stress halo car). As a result the Viper would get killed. But GM doesn't have the money to spend on turning around Chrysler. Pontiac and Buick also need to be turned around. Or GM could just let Dodge die and take a good chunk of Ram sales, nearly all Charger/Magnum sales with Zetas, a good chunk of Caliber sales with the HHR, Durango sales with the T900s, and not invest any money in Chrysler. Having the Charger, 300, G8, and Lucerne makes no sense. When there aren't LX cars on the market, the natural fit for LX owners is the Zetas. Therefore, GM would get nearly as many sales out of half as many vehicles. Hummer can take Jeep's sales (all Wrangler would go to the H4, a good chunk of GC sales would go to NG H3). Chrysler is certainly more sporting than Buick at this point in time. The best thing for GM to do for GM's sake is nothing at all. Many of Chrysler's sales would probably go to GM considering the products GM is going to be putting out that are similar to the current popular Chryslers. GM also would have the daunting task of not only dealing with product issues, but dealer issues, plant issues, and personnel issues. The fact is that it's way too big of a project for GM to take over. Some private investors should take over Chrysler and give them the funding they need. GM cannot provide the funding that Chrysler needs to be turned around, and I see GM being put up for sale in a few years if they do in fact buy Chrysler.
  23. I meant what proof have you seen that it's still alive.
  24. Thanks, Cort. The game was awesome. A good win, and we definitely played well in the second half. I was able to get right on the floor next so I had a clear view of the Chief. Here are my two videos of him: First part: Second part: Note that in the second part he usually does not come back out.
  25. The last model year was supposed to be '09 (new one was a 2010) so I'm guessing it will either be done after 2009 or 2010 MY (depending on how it is selling). Do you just think it's staying, or do you have proof it is staying? You said you think, that's a lot different (and less factual) than people having proof it's going away.
