  1. Isn't this the question with all hybrids? Why pay quite a bit more money when you're going to have to keep the car forever to make up the cost difference in fuel?
  2. That's good news. I thought the interior appeared to be pretty good at the auto show, but they were not unlocked and you couldn't sit in them, so I couldn't actually see what the interior felt like.
  3. Right. All I would want from Chrysler is something that's average. They're bottom of the barrel right now. An average interior would be a huge improvement. You have to be kidding. There's probably a GM vehicle in every class with a better interior than the respective Chrysler product in that same class. ----------------------- I like how people get so mad that all of us are supposedly just bashing on Chrysler because we feel like it, and their interiors are really just fine. If their interiors were fine, then there wouldn't be so many people "bashing" (aka expressing thier opinion of them and feeling that they aren't adequate) them all the time. I don't understand how any of you can continue to defend them. If you don't care what the interior feels like and don't have the same standards as some of us, then that's fine; say so. I can understand if someone doesn't care much about the interior of their car and to them a nice interior isn't any different than a bad one because they just don't care. But if you honestly think that Chrysler's interiors are on par with other makes then you are smoking some good stuff.
  4. Congrats on the purchase. The SRT-4 is faster, but it's out of the question if you want anything that resembles a decent interior.
  5. Huh? You've never heard of the M3, M5, or M6?
  6. I don't think you're going to change your mind so this is the last I'm going to say on the subject: If everyone who buys the Town Car besides fleet agencies are old people, then they must think RWD is just fine. TONS of old people live in southern states because they don't want to deal with snow anyways, so RWD would be just fine.
  7. Just because the designs aren't great doesn't mean they aren't swathed in leather and genuine wood. As for the LS460, well, I don't think it's that bad. It's all nice materials for the most part, though not as good as the S550. Design is the only thing that someone could really have much of a problem with, IMO.
  8. Why? The Enclave is so much better than either of the other two that it's not even funny.
  9. I think that's very possible, actually. The entry/egress would be much easier than getting in and out of a car that's much lower to the ground.
  10. The Town Car isn't FWD and it sells to plenty of old people. As Balthazar said, the DTS doesn't sell because it's FWD, it sells because of it's other attributes. And, the STS is most likely dead, so the CTS is all that's left. GM can essentially kill two birds with one stone by moving the DTS rear-drive. First, current buyers will recognize it as the new version of their car, so that will automatically attract them. Then, it will attract buyers who would never consider the current car because it's not RWD, which is want most luxury buyers want. And finally, if old people are so concerned about traction in the snow, they'd be better off with AWD than FWD anyways.
  11. You should see what TSW Thruxtons would look like on it. I don't even know if they would fit but I really like them on GTOs. They aren't too expensive either. On ebay you can get 19s for $860.
  12. 2, 4, 6, and 7 are the best ones.
  13. Maybe since it has a bigger engine it got going faster and the crash was more violent I'm sure most cars are pretty similar in terms of safety in real-world crashes. Apparently you can both wrap a GTO around a pole at 70MPH and flip it five times and walk away from both.
  14. Ok, let's see here... Everyone thinks the Lucerne and DTS should go RWD because Zeta is so much better than G-Body that it's not even funny. It would be idiotic to keep them on G. If buyers think they need FWD for the snow then they can buy the AWD versions. And making a new platform would be dumb too. For 2 vehicles? No way. Toyota has RWD vehicles... they call them "Lexus" and that's what the Lucerne and DTS are supposed to compete against. Hmm... that seems to start to make sense now, no? G-Body can't have 6-speeds (wasn't designed for them). Perhaps W-Body can't either, I don't know. All of those cars will be gone within a year or two anyways. They are putting them in the T900s... all '08 models should have them. The Sierra does have the 6.2. The Astra is a very small car. It will do fine with the powertrains they are putting in it. Also, have you seen the Redline and it's specs? If not, then don't complain about it not having a 6-speed, because I don't think you can know that it doesn't. First you want the DTS to stay FWD, then you want more power so it's higher performing, those seem like opposites to me... I'm not going to continue, because I don't feel like spending more time answering this rather ridiculous rant.
  15. They have that as a commercial here. I've seen it a couple times.
  16. Maybe they can become a cut-rate Audi in the same way Pontiac can/is going to become a cut-rate BMW, but I think it will take more than 5 years. As for project snowflake, well, admitting that you can't come up with even an original name, much less an original way to design a car is pathetic.
  17. Sub-Theta is dead. Perhaps they are talking about a Gamma-based crossover? That seems rather small for North America, but perhaps it would be the size of the older RAV4s and CR-Vs.
  18. Cool. I don't even know where the nearest junkyard is, or if we have one. I guess I should find out so I can go buy some cheap tires and wheels that will fit the GTO so I can do burnouts/donuts cheaply
  19. Dude, what the hell are you talking about? You think whether an interior is round or blocky has anything to do with the quality of the interior? While most of Chrysler's interiors aren't aesthetically pleasing to my eyes, I don't complain about the design, at least not very often. I complain about the materials. Quality = quality of materials and build quality. Quality has nothing to do with design. You could have the highest quality interior and the ugliest interior of all time in the same car.
  20. It's about damn time Chrysler did something to upgrade their interiors, but if we're getting the same crap until 2010 it might not matter, because Chrysler may be dead by then. Now, I hope that the materials are better, too. I just saw "design," nothing about "upgrading plastics" or "using materials 100x higher in quality." And yes, I'm serious about 100x better. When their interiors are as bad as the currently are, they have to be improved 100 fold to be where they need to be. In other words, if they only made them twice as good as they are, they'd still suck.
  21. The Cien would be awesome, but I think it steps on the Corvette's toes too much. Hopefully the ULS gets the go ahead.
  22. Not the Volvo. I drove some of them at work (used) with about 40k miles on them. The shocks were absolutely shot, when I braked the cars did a complete nosedive. I would probably go with the Altima or GP. The Maxima is perhaps better than the GP but it won't have any sort of warranty left. What about a used Mazda6? It seems similar to what these cars are/trying to be.
  23. Ok NOS, I thought of a good reason to not implement your idea, and I think you'll agree: What if these chips told the government your age and your BAC, so you could never drink underage?
  24. NOS, you have been smoking some pretty good stuff lately, I think. Do you realize if someone was running from the cops that they would just find a way to remove it from their arm? Plus, there are plenty of people who are tech-savvy enough (hackers) that they would steal identities like it was nothing, or have some card in their arm that was programmable so that they could be whoever they wanted to be on any given day.
  25. LS2 GTOs can certainly stay with a lot of cars you wouldn't think the could, as can LS1s with a few simple mods. I'm not sure what my car is at... I suppose I could get it tuned if I get those LTs and Borla and find out. I know it has a performance camshaft and lightweight underdrive pulleys, but I have no idea what type of cam it is. The underdrive pulleys add about 10RWHP, and a cam can add anywhere from 30-50RWHP depending on what the specs are. I'm guessing mine is on the milder side because it's not that noticeable... but I may be around LS2 levels for RWHP... who knows.
