  1. Did you take those, Chris? They look great. I still dislike the headlights and the interior, but the rest seems fine, and it has some cool features it seems. The profile is more Nitro than I first noticed (painted C-pillar, squared off wheel flares), but it's fine. And yes, the umbrella in the roof is funny. Why didn't they just close the roof?
  2. Looks like a bigger version of the Highlander with a Lexus front end (that looks forced and ugly). Escalade, Yukon Denali, GL, A7, and even the Navigator look better. Interior looks nice though, sort of a truck version of the LS.
  3. The Beat looks best to me, though the design cues look oversized for such a small vehicle. Trax and Groove are ugly except that the head-on view of the Groove is kinda cool.
  4. I will have to see the exterior in person. In a couple shots it looks fine but in most it looks ugly. The interior looks good, but not as good as the Acadia. I'd like to see what the volume model looks like, too, not just the upscale model.
  5. You can't be serious. Plenty of people already said the Groove was ugly, and I fail to see how anything changes because there is a Scion that has the same general "box" design. You're statement is saying that no one on C&G has ever said a GM vehicle is ugly, which is quite untrue.
  6. The exterior, aside from the headlights, is fine. The interior on the other hand, well, it sucks. As you said the difference is that they're good. If the Nitro had a good interior I'd be happy if the Liberty had the same one. The Escalade is at least differeniated from the other T900s, and much more so than the Aspen is from the Durango.
  7. Let's see what the sales differences are in the middle of summer when both have their legs under them. The Edge has been on sale for a good 2 months longer than the Lambdas.
  8. I'd like to know how these are Scion ripoffs. Was Scion the first to have sub-compact vehicles? No. Going by "these are a Scion ripoff" means every car is a ripoff of every other car that has the same general shape and number of doors, so please stop spewing BS. Anyways, I like the Beat the best. The Groove IS too much like the new xB and is rather ugly. The Beat's headlights are way too big, but other than that I think it looks good for a sub-compact. EDIT: I must be completely out of it when it comes to stylish subcompacts, because the Groove is waay ahead and I think it's pretty damn ugly.
  9. It could be a supply issue, I guess. My dealer has never had more than 2 Acadias at once. Meanwhile the Ford dealer has had many Edges for quite some time.
  10. I am dumbfounded about how the MKX can sell 3k when the SRX can only sell 2.2k. I guess the MKX is quite a bit cheaper, but it's a whole hell of a lot less vehicle. The Edge looks like it is off to a strong start. For Ford's sake I hope it continues, though I'm not sure it's as good of a vehicle as the sales would indicate, but perhaps I'm too harsh on it.
  11. I think the GTO failed because it was way different than what your normal Mustang, Camaro, and Firebird customer (more or less the target audience) would expect in a performance coupe. It's basically like a European sports coupe, while they were expecting something more like the Firebird. In other words, they were expecting something that was all about going fast and nothing about luxury, which is not what they got, and the price tag reflected that. They were expecting a go-fast for cheap car and they got a go-fast with luxury car and a price tag more than they want to pay. Basically, they were expecting a Mustang fighter and got something more along the lines of a big 3-Series. And, Pontiac didn't seem to market it as any sort of European-like sports coupe, but rather a Firebird replacement (though there was not much marketing at all). As a result of this, the type of customer that would buy a car like the GTO is not one that would normally go to a Pontiac showroom, and therefore with the lack of marketing the type of customer that would buy a GTO did not know about it. When I got my GTO hardly anyone knew what the hell it was, that's a sign of bad marketing.
  12. Ask her if Saturn plans to fill the gap between the Outlook and VUE with anything :AH-HA_wink: I'd like to know about the Aura RedLine, too. Also, the possibilities of Saturn getting a Zeta somewhere down the line.
  13. The only possible explanation for the Corolla's sales increase is increased rental sales. There are many better choices out there, and it's old, bland, and uninspiring to drive.
  14. It astounds me how many people buy CR-Vs simply because they have an H on them. It is not even close to being at the top of the class.
  15. There were some ugly numbers in there. Buick needs the next LaCrosse ASAP and the Lucerne starting to fade faster than most cars do (I am guessing because of it's old mechanicals). CTS is slowing, which is expected with the new one coming soon; STS and DTS are both showing their age. SRX had a strong month (though 2.2k is well below what they would like to sell, I think), as did Escalade. How were the Silverado and Sierra down? Acadia had a strong month again, and it appears the Outlook may be starting to catch on. Aura had by far it's best month ever, it's pace was 66k/year. Still not the 100k/year they said they wanted, but maybe it's starting to catch on, too.
  16. Because then they would have tons of plants in Europe sitting idle, not to mention the billions of dollars it would probably take to tool US plants for all of the existing cars in Europe.
  17. Northstar

    Subaru B9

New T&C front and everything else looks like the Santa Fe, more or less.
  18. Wow, that'd be awesome. You could have high-performance intake, exhaust, headers, cam (and possibly heads) all with warranty. I'm guessing it might cost a pretty penny and not deliver as much power as non-GM aftermarket accessories, however.
  19. Well, I'm not so sure GM > Holden. It's quite arguable that if Holden had done all the engineering for GM's cars so far this decade GM would be way better off than it is.
  20. Z06 Sky Red Line Escalade GTO Enclave/Acadia/Outlook CTS-V SRX Aura T900 trucks Soon to join the list will be the new Malibu, Astra, and G8.
  21. You went to U of Ill too, right? There were five armed robberies this past weekend (all of them Saturday night). Apparently a person was targeting people who were walking alone and approached them, stuck out their gun and told them to hand over their money.
  22. Work 5 days a week 7AM - 4-5PM (depending on day, supposed to be 7-4 but may have overtime some days). Come home, probably do some work for my online summer courses, relax, maybe go play basketball. Weekends: relax. As for the car, not sure. If anything either a CAI and nothing else or CAI, headers, and catback w/dual exit. There is a '05 GTO in black with chrome wheels and a 6-speed at my local dealer that I saw yesterday. They haven't got it on the lot yet so I don't know the price, but I really wouldn't mind trading up for a couple grand. Doubt that's going to happen though.
  23. Acadia, and a 335i convert at the BMW dealer in an awesome shade of blue, looked spectacular.
  24. There are a lot of cars I would rather have than a GNX for $100k. There are a lot of cars I'd rather have for $50k, too. That car would have to be an investment and be locked up somewhere safe so in 20 years it could be resold for $200k (or whatever it will be worth by then).
