  1. Canceled.
  2. So what's the problem with having someone confirm for you that you're going in the right direction?
  3. Saab also is getting EPII. Yes, the LaX is first, followed by Aura, then 9-5, then Aura wagon, then 9-3 and finally Malibu. The '08 Malibu is still EPI. EPII is revised and can have AWD (and should be bigger).

True, but the engine is not doing any work as you said.

I don't see how the torque generated by the engine has anything to do with the force needed to stop the Tundra from sliding off the platform. If it can't stop itself from sliding, the engine can't pull it up. Also, .8 x 1250 x 4 = 5000, not 6250. Friction is not measured in pounds, but rather Newtons, and is a force. The max frictional force created by the Tundra is weight x 9.81 x coefficient of friction. Weight in kg is 2300kg. Coefficient of friction is .8... 2300 x .8 x 9.81 = ~18000N... this is the force opposing the 5000lbs box from falling. The force generated from the box falling is the weight of the box x 9.81 = 2300 x 9.81 = 22500N trying to pull the Tundra off the cliff. The output generated by the engine should not matter. Plus, you're assuming the engine is at the point where it's making max torque... clearly that would not be the case at the quite low RPMs in the commercial. The number of wheels has nothing to do with it either. You could have 50 wheels and it would still have the same coefficient of friction.

So this actually happened? I don't think anyone is going to hop in the truck, let someone tie a huge dangling trailer to the cliff and then let it fall so that they can stop the truck and start pulling the trailer back up. The truck is a few inches from falling off the ramp if I remember correctly, and there's nowhere to go but down, down, down if it did roll back another foot. If the thing they dropped actually was 5000lbs, the Tundra had to overcome a 22300 Newtons trying to pull it off the ramp in a very short period of time. Assuming the Tundra also weighs 5000 lbs and the coefficient of static friction was ~.8 (this is the normal static friction between a tire and road), the Tundra would be making a force of only 17800 Newtons with the road in the opposite direction of the 22300 trying to pull it off. Where is the extra 4500 Newtons of force coming from? It certainly is going to take longer than the commercial shows to stop a 4500 Newton force. So it may be real, but the trailer doesn't weigh as much as advertised if it does.
  7. Congrats! Keep us updated on it!
  8. Meh, if you want to do something to the tails I say tint them to match the exterior.
  9. Looks rather bland with some ugly headlights. I don't think they did anything to hurt sales, but it certainly doesn't inspire any good emotion in me.
  10. The refreshed 9-3 is EPI. The NG 9-3 is EPII.
  11. Well, I don't think they'll be a Malibu SS, perhaps a Malibu Sport, and it won't have AWD until the EPII Malibu comes.
  12. Wow, the profile looks pretty good. The interior looks like the new CTS.
  13. Is it April 1st tomorrow? This is the most ridiculous article I've read. What a load of garbage. It's not factual at all, and sounds more like a "this is what I want Buick's lineup to be like" than a "this is what Buick's lineup will be like." Quickly... their (many) mistakes: -Lucerne is not on L-, but G-Body, which isn't designed for the 6-speed, and the replacement is not a 2010 model. About the only thing they got right is the spelling of Lucerne. Oh, and we're getting a new interior that was designed in China in 2007/2008? -Park Ave is not coming. Everything about it is a bunch of fluff. -LaCrosse - yeah, right, they're going to bring the Chinese LaCrosse over for a year and the '08 model will only have a 1 year run ("new" fascia is the '08) -EPII LaCrosse - about the only thing right is that it's a global car. The rest is just hilarious. Why would Opel/Saab care when the "Regal" (so now they're going from Regal to LaCrosse back to Regal? :lol) is being launched? There is fighting within GM because Opel doesn't want the LaCrosse to debut before the EPII Opel? Righhhht. And if Opel has their way, it will be delayed? Umm, hello, Opel is the lead team for EPII, so therefore the EPII Opel will be first anyways, and the LaCrosse was never supposed to be an '09. Always a '10. -Riveria: GM is pushing to bring a gull-winged coupe to the market? HAHAHA And it's going to be here as a 2010 model, only a short while after the EPII LaCrosse, which is already "done" and they're just having fights to see when it will begin production. -Rendezvous: First, if Buick is getting anything below the Enclave (and right now it doesn't appear they plan to do so) it's certainly not riding on Theta II. It would most definitely ride on TE (same as BRX/9-4x) and could someone PLEASE explain to me how the hell it's getting here before either of the other TEs? -GN: All I have to say is this: If GM delayed the Impala 12 months, why would they intend to have the new GN come out at the same time? Umm... help... -Skylark: Right, we know it's a 2010, but with all this other information we have floating around, we know nothing else, but know it's intended starting price is $25k. There is a Buick on Delta II coming if I remember correctly, but it's intended for China-only at this point. My oh my, GMI has lost any and all credibility.
  14. I wouldn't get my hopes up.

(DD7) Inside rearview auto-dimming mirror with compass display (VPZ) Regular production accessory, Chrome Finish Grilles Package, includes 4 recessed chrome grilles (2 upper and 2 lower) (Bolded items are similar to what the Mazda3 got) Yep, GM never changes anything. Aside from the suspension changes and "more rigid body," the Mazda3 basically got dealer accessories. And how is a body-color grill a change when it's had it since '04? The front bumper is just from the MazdaSpeed3 Mazda Mazda3, and if you really want new trim I'm sure most every manufacturer offers dealer-installed trim accessories. GM does, at least.
  16. That's called a MCE, GM does them too.
  17. Abortion is dumb. I don't understand why people who get them don't understand there are thousands upon thousands of people willing to pay their medical bills (the cost of having the baby) if they let them adopt their child. Instead, people decide to stop a life from entering the world. In addition, abortion is very painful from what I've heard and can cause permanent damage to the mother. Not worth the risk at all when again, you can just have your baby adopted. Even if you don't want your baby adopted, it has to be better than killing it.
  18. You just said purdy and Toyota in the same sentence It looks kind of short to me for the North American midsize segment, I hope it's space-efficient enough to compete. The A-pillar back in the artist's drawing looks quite a bit like an Infiniti to me.
  19. I have a hunch that will be my dad's next car. Perhaps mine, too.
  20. Yeah, for instance right now I'm taking Gen Chem 2, but I'll never need it ever again, so what motivation do I have to learn it? Aside from passing/getting a good grade, absolutely none. If it wasn't required, I wouldn't be taking it, and if it was actually something I needed to know later on, then I would be much more motivated to really learn it, but again, I don't ever need it again (thankfully).
  21. I rarely see Aura's that don't have dealer plates on them, though they are starting to show up more often. I think it's just going to take some time for them to catch on.
  22. I have a final today, tomorrow, and on Wednesday. They're physics, Calc 2, and Gen Chem 2. I figure I either know it by now or I don't, so I've decided not to stress myself out over-studying. I feel pretty confident I can do well enough to move on to the next level of courses; I'm already tired of these damn gen-eds and it's only been a year.
  23. Now, now, kids, I think this is just a big misunderstanding. I believe 91Z meant to quote 6t5frlane, and accidently quoted LosAngeles. Can we all simmer down just a wee bit, please?
  24. The red Outlook at the auto show looked great.
  25. The Enclave is simply amazing. I don't think there's anything I like better about the Outlook than the Enclave, other than price, and they aren't that far apart.
