Full sales chart: Chrysler Group July 2007 Sales AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Aug. 1 -- The Chrysler Group reported U.S. sales for July 2007 of 137,728 units; down 8 percent compared to July 2006 with 150,349 units sold. All sales figures are reported as unadjusted. "Overall, the industry experienced softer sales in July than a year ago," said Darryl Jackson, Vice President - U.S. Sales. "With industry sales down over 12 percent, Chrysler Group market share improved." "Our new Chrysler Lifetime Powertrain Warranty is receiving a very positive reaction from our dealers and customers," added Jackson. "We started to see an immediate impact of the announcement in the traffic it is driving to our dealers' showrooms." The Chrysler Sebring sedan posted sales of 2,977 for July. With fluctuating gas prices, Chrysler Sebring gives buyers the choice of a fuel- efficient 2.4-liter four-cylinder World Engine on all models, including the Chrysler Sebring Limited edition. The Jeep brand continued its fifth consecutive month of year-over-year sales gains in July, posting an increase of 4 percent over the previous year. This result was driven by the continued strong sales of Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Compass. Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited posted sales of 8,829 units, up 11 percent compared to July 2006 with 7,935 units sold. Posting its best month ever, the Jeep Compass finished July with sales of 2,591 units, up from July 2006 when the vehicle made its debut. Compass is a modern-styled vehicle that broadens the global appeal of the Jeep brand and achieves 30 miles per gallon or better in highway driving. Dodge brand sales decreased 14 percent over last year primarily due to the sell-down of Dodge Caravan and Grand Caravan. The all-new 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town and Country minivans will begin arriving in dealerships in the third quarter. "The Chrysler Group will extend its low-rate financing, plus additional bonus cash in August, with a 0% APR offering for 60 months on select models," said Michael Keegan, Vice President - Volume Planning and Sales Operations. "These great value packages have been well received by our customers over the recent months so we have decided to continue them. We will offer this in combination with the new Chrysler Lifetime Powertrain Warranty, a statement of confidence in the reliability of Chrysler products. It provides worry-free ownership for new Chrysler, Jeep® and Dodge owners as long as they own their vehicle." Chrysler Group finished the month with 464,875 units of inventory, or a 81-day supply. Inventory is down by 17 percent compared to July 2006 when it was at 560,210 units. "This is the lowest dealer inventory for Chrysler Group in the last four years," added Keegan. MONTVALE, N.J., Aug. 1, 2007 -- Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) today reported sales of 18,586 new vehicles for July, bringing the company's year- to-date total to 136,826 units, a 0.2 percent increase compared to the same period last year and marking the best year-to-date sales volume in its history. With significant boosts in sales for both the S-Class and CL-Class (12.9 percent and 561.5 percent increases respectively), highlights for July sales include a 12 percent increase in sales of Mercedes-Benz high-end vehicles (S-, SL-, and CL-Classes) as a group. SUVs also showed growth, with the company's highly acclaimed M-Class model line's 23 percent increase (3,015 vs. 2,446 units) for the month. Compared to the first seven months of 2006, the same period this year marked increases from the volume-leading C-Class with its 13.4 percent gain (31,619 vs. 27,881 units) to the exclusive CL-Class luxury coupe's 436.2 percent increase (2,043 vs. 381 units). As a group, Mercedes-Benz's light truck offerings posted a year-to-date increase of 12.4 percent (39,804 vs. 35,413 SUVs), including a seven percent jump for the M-Class and 87.7 percent growth for the seven-passenger full-sized GL-Class. Separately, through the Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned program, MBUSA marked a 1.1 percent increase for July sales with 4,417 vehicles sold, bringing year-to-date sales to a total of 30,475 units, an increase of 11.8 percent over the same period in 2006. July 2007 Sales: Toyota Motor Corporation
Northstar replied to mustang84's topic in 2007 Sales Archive
Tundra is way up, but it had $3500 on the hood or 0% for 60, so no big surprise there. If GM did that with the T900s they'd be selling about 120k combined/month. -
GM July sales dive 19%.But retail sales up 15%
Northstar replied to Toyota.vs.GM's topic in 2007 Sales Archive
GM must have had a ton of fleet sales last year to inflate numbers so that the losses from the Employee discount program in '05 didn't look as bad. I'm happy that retail sales are up 15%, I don't think any other manufacturer can make a claim that their retail sales were up that much or more. Every manufacturer posted a loss except Nissan and Porsche, and Nissan was up only 1.7% (Porsche .9%). Lambda sales seem low, perhaps it is due to low supply because of the two-week July shutdown? VUE sales are disappointing, I'm not sure what the deal is there. My dealer has 20+ I would say, so supply isn't the issue. T900 truck sales are also disappointing, but I guess everyone else has HUGE discounts. I want to see them do well, but I would rather they didn't have $3k or 0% for 60 months in their first year on the market. -
The CTS wagon is only being made for sales outside the US, as enzl said, though it will be sold here as well. There's no reason to not sell it here if they're going to produce it anyways.
-
The media isn't going to be testing the 4cyl w/4-speed combo. They'll get the V6s at first, and then when the magazines ask for a 4cyl "follow up" the 4cyl/6-speed combo will be out. I don't know what the deal is with the 6-speeds not being out in full force yet, but I would have thought GM would have production of the 6-speeds going at full speed and would have dropped the 4-speeds by now.
-
You don't think the H2 and H3 can perform like the H1? In some cases, they actually perform better because of their smaller size (mainly the H3). Go look up some videos of the H3 offroading on youtube if you don't believe me. In addition, the H2 and H3 are not totally T800 and T355 underneath. They have lots of modifications to make them better offroad that the other GM trucks don't have.

PCS, what options were you looking at on the Acadia? I assume you want AWD, since that is what the Equinox you own has... but I don't know what else you would want, and was going to price an Acadia and Enclave to show you that the Enclave is not that much more, and the better option if you don't perfer the Acadia stylistically. Because I don't know what you want, I went ahead and loaded up an Enclave CXL and an Acadia SLT2 (every box was checked on each except for extra-cost paint and HUD on the Acadia since the Enclave doesn't offer it, I also didn't get the chrome wheels on the Enclave since the Acadia doesn't offer them). The MSRP on the Enclave (without extra-cost paint or the chromes) was $44,645. The MSRP on the Acadia (without HUD) was $44665. Now, if you don't go for the 19s on the Acadia that drops the price to $43370, but you get 19s on the Enclave and 18s on the Acadia (not sure if you care, though). Perhaps the Acadia comes in cheaper if you go with the more basic models, but I just thought I'd show you that at least on the top-of-the-range models, the Acadia actually turns out to be slightly more when equipped similarly.

I saw a ton of Bentlys in Chicago and a couple Rolls as well. Also saw a Gallardo and a couple M5s as well as many AMG Mercedes.
-
There's no VUE-based crossover coming that soon and the LaCrosse name is not being changed... at least not as of last week.
-
Unless you're going with a base model, the Enclave is not much more expensive than the Acadia. Only a few hundred dollars for a comparably equipped model.
-
Oh please... the H2 and H3 don't resemble their GM counterparts in any way. The one thing they share is mechanicals. At least GM isn't planning on rolling out car-based Hummers like a certain other company that claims to be "Trail Rated" is doing.
-
If they were only willing to pay $4.7 billion I'd say they weren't really too interested. They were just trying to get a great deal. GM was just fooling around and really had no reason to buy anything but possibly Jeep so that they could keep Hummer more upscale.
-
This post is a load of crap. I bet the CTS has more trunk space, probably more front seat space, and probably a longer hood as well. That would explain "only" 1 inch more rear legroom. You complain about the interior... name something for the same price that's better. You can't. You really think you can feel much of a difference between 5.9 and 5.5? Sure, there may be some, but if you're that worried about it then throw on an exhaust system and a couple other mods and you're probably there. Your pushrod statement is ridiculous. The LSA is going to be an amazing engine. You probably base your opinion of pushrods on some 20-year-old engine, not a new technologically-advanced design. It sounds like very little will suit your wants.
-
"I don't like pushrods so I wouldn't get a V-Series" is a ridiculous statement. That engine will be a gem. That's like saying you drove a Ford with an OHC engine and didn't like it so now you won't consider a GM with a OHC engine 375HP is more than anyone really needs. 500 is way more than anyone needs, but how is 500 "not really useable" and 375 is somehow the right number since that's where the competition is at? I think the CTS will get the UV8 a couple model years after introduction. That will solve the big horsepower gap.
-
Notice the GTO driver has a big smile on his face :AH-HA_wink:
-
I suppose after buying those wheels and adding on that crappy body kit as well as adding the suspension hardware, you might be close to $30k on a regular Civic Si. But then, isn't that the reason we make fun of "ricers"? Because they spend tons of money on a little compact car so we can laugh at them? Seriously, if you have $30k to spend on a car, I would hope you would have brains enough to spend it on something better. For that, you could get a loaded Mustang GT, or better yet, a leftover GTO.
-
If I didn't have a GTO already, yours would be a great one to buy. I still wouldn't mind a trade Good luck with your projects.

Sorry to hear this, DF. Hopefully everything works out ok.
