  1. I don't agree with those saying that kids that are just given cars don't appreciate it or are abusive to the cars. If I was given a beater, I wouldn't have given a $h! about it and drove the hell out of it. Never would have cared for it, etc. I was given a 3 year old Alero that my sister has driven, which I feel is a pretty good first car for someone. I washed it pretty regularly and cleaned it out when it was starting to get dirty. If I was given, say, a 1990 Cavalier, I never would have washed it or cleaned out the inside. Get something that is: -reliable -safe -not overly powerful -something they will appreciate, ie not a beater that they'll never care to wash or clean, something that is decent but not great that they'll at least want to keep looking as good as possible
  2. You can get a SR5 5.7L double cab for $269/month? Wow.
  3. The Passat is $30k vs $25k comparably equipped. It is nicer, but it costs $5k more.
  4. No, I was serious. What midsize family sedan as a better interior? The dash might have hard plastic, but every family sedan has plastic there, and the Accord's door panels are much nicer than everything else. Perhaps the cheap models are not very nice, but for $24k you can get an EX-L.
  5. Most of them aren't over $24k though. The interior is plenty worthy of the price tag, whether the exterior is crappy or not.
  6. Perhaps there were too many dealers who didn't want to have to go buy a Camry and Accord, or perhaps GM thinks the new Accord is too good.
  7. Hopefully those tires are Michelin Pilot Sport Cups. One of the mags said that if the Z06 didn't have run-flats and had the Pilot Sport Cups like the 911 GT3, it would be a lot faster.
  8. $718 lease payment!?! Looks gorgeous, but I would never pay $718/month for it.
  9. Not sure, but all you need to know is this: Toyota recalled more vehicles than it sold in 2006.
  10. A fully loaded Acadia sans the $1300 wheels and HUD (Highlander does not offer it) is $43920. A fully loaded Highlander with remote start and XM as accessories is $42753. I would say they are priced pretty competitively when compared to each other.
  11. No problem, guess I should have stated that. Perhaps they will arrive in mass in spring, but I see no reason the first ones should be here any later than December. I doubt we're going to see a GTP and GXP. Most likely just the GXP. What else would they do? A supercharged version? I don't see that happening, that's the CTS-V's job. AWD should be available on the VE cars at some point, I would think, don't know if the G8 will get it. AWD is probably a possibility on the Camaro, but it would add a lot of weight, and I'm not sure there's much demand.
  12. Those first two center stacks are clearly trucks/SUVs, it has 4wd or 2wd modes. But what? Colorado? Equinox? The third center stack looks like a Buick. Much like the Chinese Park Ave and it has "stitching" on it. Needless to say, these look pretty good.
  13. Saturn not having that car is inexcusable. I don't care if it would take a lot of work, it should have been developed for the global market from the start.
  14. 20 with very few miles on them. What happens at 40,000, 60,000, or 70,000 miles is the real question. Will it still only be the select few, or will a large number experience it?
  15. The interior does look pretty cheap in these pics, and the plood has a weird haze to it. I liked the interior better in the press photos. So you would rate the Lambdas above this, based on your review, I take it?
  16. That is interesting, but regardless the center stack sucks.
  17. As stated in the original post, SORP is mid-October. I expect you'll see them on lots in late November.
  18. We would have had to soldier on with the Lucerne anyways. The PA was not going to be a replacement, but rather it was just going to be another model. Oh really? That's funny. I know of at least 4 people on this message board (3 of which post frequently) that know quite a bit about Buick's Zeta plans. There is at least 1 other that I think may know a little something, but I'm unsure. And oh by the way, there's plenty of Buick's coming in China, would you really like me to list them or are you just going to deny that there happen to be people who know a little something about the future and aren't just guessing?
  19. I just thought of this (since reg posted). Perhaps it is an AWD version?
  20. Ehh, the CTS destroys this. Quite a letdown after the A5 which I think is quite good-looking. This is a snore.
  21. Nope, 'twas the same body style as the normal G8.
  22. I don't doubt that they're pushing for it, but I am certain it has not been approved. Also, sorry to disappoint GMTG, but the G8 wagon is not going to make it here by next summer, I fear. The Commodore wagon doesn't start production 'til late-Feb 08. I guess if the G8 started right after then it would make it here, but I sort of doubt it will start more than a couple months after the Commodore.
  23. C&G Rumors: Another G8 Iteration? Conceptual Rendering by NOS2006 A little birdy told me that there would be another version of the G8 coming in late 2008 (a little over a year, actually), but said it wasn't a wagon. Therefore, the only logical guess I could think of is the GXP, unless we're going to see a hybrid or the little birdy was wrong about the wagon. Either way, the birdy said it is a sedan. EDIT: Perhaps it is an AWD version? This little birdy also told me that SORP for the G8 is mid-October, and SORP for the Commodore wagon is late February 2008. :AH-HA_wink: Going by this, the wagon probably isn't coming until at least 2009, if at all. BTW, the UTE starts production in less than a month.
  24. There aren't any plans for a G8 wagon as of now. The Holden version starts production in late February.
  25. He can't, he was just making everything he said up in the first place. It cannot be explained by anyone, including him. Congrats, what color?
