  1. I have mixed feelings over GM selling it to other companies. It would be good financially, but what about sales? I would like to see GM own the market and be ahead of everyone.
  2. Getrag. Some issues are still being ironed out, but that is the plan. I sure hope they do get the issues ironed out, and I think they probably will.
  3. I assume the LaCrosse will be unveiled at the '08 NY show. NAIAS would be too early. Riveria and a small sedan are pipe dreams at this point, especially for an '08 unveiling.
  4. Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner.
  5. Expect them to be on lots in late September of next year. Also, I'm sure many will be happy to know, the transmission is not a Tremec, but rather something that at least the magazines would like better. :AH-HA_wink: Finally, final drive ratio is a bit taller than the old T56.
  6. The new calibration sounds like it fixes your problem. I sort of doubt you had an Enclave with that because it would have had 1000 miles put on it in less than a week...
  7. Look at the numbers below and then tell me the CTS is overweight: CTS weight 3.6 DI w/auto: 3845 335i weight w/auto): 3825 The 335i is 13 inches shorter, has a narrower track by 2-3 inches, and is 2 inches shorter. Which vehicle is overweight? As for lacking detail... How much more spartan can you get? The CTS is much more detailed, IMO. Unless you mean something other by "detailed" than I do...
  8. Nah... Why would they not put an intercooler on a $60+k vehicle? It just has less boost. I'm not so sure about the name, especially coming from MT. As NOS said we definitely need a backup source. BTW, if you want to know the production date, go HERE :AH-HA_wink: No one seemed to believe it too much when I started that thread, but you'll see.
  9. I have not tested one, but I rode along with my aunt for a test drive in one. She thought she was set on it until she drove it. Here is my quote from the thread: To sum everything up, nothing was spectacular, a lot of it was crap, and the only good thing I could find for people to like was a few H's. To clarify, the guage "hood" sounded hollow and felt rather brittle (though obviously it wasn't going to break into pieces). The only good interior material I could find was the armrest on the door. The rest is explained.
  10. The Blue Devil will certainly be debuting at NAIAS. It starts production in 10 months. Did Hill happen to mention the real name (of the car)?
  11. I'm guessing it would slightly effect gas mileage if you were driving spiritedly. However, the gear ratios are still going to be the same, so otherwise it should not be affected. Only if shift points are changed, but I don't see why they would be. It sounds like it simply is to make shifts smoother and also allow for more frequent downshifts (for passing, etc.).
  12. If there is a combined $8k back on the truck obviously it's not selling. You don't see GM dealers giving $4k back on Lambdas just because they want to. Same for a Toyota dealer, they're not going to give $8k off sticker if they don't have to.
  13. I would be surprised if it got from Michigan out to California in 16 days, much less out there for long enough to have 1000 miles put on it. It takes quite a while to ship a car. Even if it was there on Aug 18 (just 10 days from finished building to dealership) that would mean 1000 miles were put on in 6 days. One person says there Enclave was shipped on the 8th and won't be there 'til the 21st. That's 13 days. It's great to see that GM is addressing the issue so quickly.
  14. The front reminds me of the tC. The interior is quite nice, besides the boring center stack. Still, it's 1000x better than the current Ford interiors.
  15. I've seen numerous ads for $199/month on the Accord. Pilot is probably down because of the Lambdas and perhaps the new Highlander as well. It was a very odd month. Probably 75% of the vehicles were down but the ones that were up saw very big gains. If the Accord had been flat, it would have resulted in a down month. I am still scratching my head as to why the CR-V is setting the charts on fire because it's not that good of a vehicle. I guess most other vehicles in that class aren't very good either, though.
  16. Trailblazer is probably fleets. The Lambdas didn't do as well, but I am guessing that is because of the 2-week July shutdown and therefore hardly any supply on the lots. Overall a very good month, though I'm wondering how the Silverado did not outsell the F-Series. Perhaps Ford fleeted a lot of them.
  17. The also made a Monaro like this, but we never got it here as a GTO. If nothing else, there's no reason there won't be aftermarket superchargers that can be thrown on the G8.
  18. I counted 36 buttons. The Lambdas have over 30 buttons, so I'd say there aren't too many. None of them are ridiculously small, either. The MDX, on the other hand, has 50, and many are very small.
  19. The STS is as good as dead, so the CTS having any overlap is not a concern. The CTS will not be irrelevant in two years... all of the competition is relatively new as well. G35, C-Class, 3er, IS all have been redesigned in the past couple of years. What's going to blow it out of the water? The A4 is about the only thing coming. Otherwise, we won't see anything else until ~2011 (new 3er). The STS was also not able to be considered competitive it's first year. It struggled to be mid-pack. You are acting as though the CTS has not even come out. "They better not repeat with the CTS"... well, obviously they didn't because the CTS is without a doubt challenging for the class lead. C&D or MT tested the CTS to 60 at 5.8, don't remember which. Who tested the Accord to 60 in 5.8? The C&D I read estimated 6.5. You think the normal person cares about .2-.6 in a 0-60? People don't race cars on the normal road most of the time. The CTS will be plenty fast for whoever is testing it, and only the real gearheads are going to care, and they'll go for the CTS-V, anyways. Should there be something between the regular CTS and the V? Probably, but the UV8 is not ready yet, and what's the point of certifying the Northstar for a 2 years when it only has 16hp more than the 3.6 DI? People buying $40k+ cars aren't that concerned about MPG. "Only" going from 0-60 in 5.8 seconds and having a little bit of overlap with a slow-selling, uncompetitive product that's going to be going away soon does not make the CTS only "90% of the way to being perfect." The average person really doesn't give a $h! about drag racing in their luxury car. If they do, they get a V, M, AMG, etc.
  20. Perhaps someone should start a poll so that GM can see the overwhelming preference of "Regal" instead of "LaCrosse" because right now it's LaCrosse.
  21. The LaCrosse has a Jan 2009 production date. I suspect we'll see it at the 08 NY show.
  22. 90% of the way? Please, the CTS is much farther than 90% of the way to being perfect. The plastic grill will be fine... most grills are plastic. Base wheels are base wheels... that's why there are optional ones that I suspect most people will get. Last I checked, the wheels on the base 3er and C-Class are nothing to write home about, either. The CTS w/DI clocked 0-60 in 5.8s. That's plenty respectable.
  23. Looks quite good to me. I would bet the exterior is going to be quite good looking as well :AH-HA_wink: The name is not changing to Regal, though I feel Regal does go better with Enclave than LaCrosse.
  24. The LaCrosse looks fantastic if that's actually production. Very futuristic, especially for a Buick.
  25. The LTZ better be fully loaded. $27k is a lot if it's not considering it doesn't have NAV.
