  1. Who's gonna complain about having to take their car in so they can get a Ferrari loaner? I'd want my car to be broke all the time if that were the case. I think it's too early to tell how reliable that particular model is right now anyways, but let's continue the Cadillac discussion... The CTS already performs as 8/10ths as well as the 3-Series. If the target of the BTS is the 3-Series, then yes, it should be able to perform as well as the 3-Series. Certainly performance is not the only thing that makes a good car, but it is a key if you're targeting the 3-Series. A new 3-Series will probably be out by the time the BTS comes, so the 3-Series might have a better interior by then, as well. The CTS can perform with a 5-Series, there's no reason the 3-Series sized Cadillac can't perform with the 3-Series. If the BTS and 3-Series are priced the same, and the next 3-Series has an interior that's much improved and at least almost as good as the BTS's, then what reason does one have to buy the BTS if it doesn't perform as well? The CTS can get by with not performing as well because it's bigger and offers a much better value, but the BTS won't have that advantage, so it has to beat the 3er at its own game.
  2. Ferrarii 599 GTB Fiorano. :AH-HA_wink: As for the BTS or whatever it is called, it does need to be as close to perfect as possible. It's going directly against the 3-Series, and it won't have the advantages the CTS currently has over both the 3-Series and 5-Series (more size for the same price, or the same size for less) unless it is priced below $30k, and that will make it quite a bit harder for it to be as successful, I think. It needs to be as good as or better than the 3-Series, otherwise there will be no reason for someone considering both to buy it.
  3. Answers to your whole post: $85k sedan: As of the sumer, a "ULS" was on for MY2011. I would guess that it's a 2012 by now, but we'll see. The SRX is a CTS wagon, for the most part. There's a CTS wagon coming. There's also a CTS Diesel, though I don't know if we'll get it here. I wouldn't be surprised, though, and I also wouldn't be surprised if it got a two-mode hybrid. Regarding the discussion on plant capacity: LGR was originally built to build 250k cars/year, so it has plenty. Plus, it underwent a 100k sq ft addition to prepare for the new CTS.
  4. The Accord V6 can do that? Why did it do 0-60 in 6.6 in the test then? The Malibu was 6.4. Perhaps the conditions were not ideal, as the CTS was tested at 5.8 in one test. Wait, so you're complaining that the CTS isn't much faster than the Accord, but now you say that it's stupid to say that the something has more horsepower than the 528i if it doesn't compete with it? Since when does the CTS compete with the Accord. Please, at least try to act like you aren't bias. This thread is about the CTS, not BMWs and stupid ads that compare Fords to BMWs, so let's get back on topic now...
  5. I think it likely will be here in late 08 or early 09. It starts production as a Holden in February.
  6. Decide for yourself... it would appear that MT likes the Malibu at least as well as the Accord: http://www.motortrend.com/oftheyear/car/11...let_malibu.html http://www.motortrend.com/oftheyear/car/11...nda_accord.html We won't know until there is actually a comparo, though. I expect all of the rags to have their own comparison of all the midsizers soon enough.
  7. News flash to automakers in Japan and Germany: The eagle has landed. Again. If you were one of those who wrote off General Motors as a dying dinosaur -- after all, it's been a decade since any GM car took home the Golden Calipers (the Chevrolet Corvette won back in 1998) -- prepare to rewrite everything you think you know about what's in the General's store. With this bold, savvy, uncompromising showpiece of a sedan -- the all-new Cadillac CTS -- GM has leapt straight from the rabble's side of the velvet rope into that coveted, highly selective inner sanctum marked "World's Finest Cars." For that remarkable achievement, and for making us grin like lottery winners every time we drove it, the CTS is our enthusiastic choice for Motor Trend's 2008 Car of the Year. Continue reading HERE
  8. I think more people would complain if it were a GMC than a Pontiac. It's based purely on a car platform. Some people said the Acadia wasn't trucky enough, yet it's obviously based on a beefier platform than Zeta. Regardless, I think it should be a Chevy, but I guess Pontiac probably makes the most sense if not Chevy.
  9. This GMC is not coming to America... you'll never see it here. I don't see anything wrong with having a rebadged VUE in the middle east.
  10. Yes. At first I thought those were ugly, but they're definitely sportier and more aggressive. Perhaps we'll get them on the G8 GXP.
  11. No, there's one that isn't for a particular dealership. I've seen it before. It's quite similar though and the same concept. The Pats won the game.
  12. Very cool, great collection!
  13. These are some awesome shots, IMO. GM should higher this guy for its press shots.
  14. Congrats on the new ride. You'll have many happy miles with her, I'm sure. It's a driving experience that no other GM car can deliver besides the Corvette, CTS-V, and XLR-V, all of which are $50k+.
  15. Were the crowds very big around the T900 hybrids? What about the Malibu?
  16. The GMC Theta and NG Equinox and sisters (that doesn't mean they look exactly the same though -- think like the Lambdas), so I really doubt our GMC Theta is going to look like that.
  17. What is so great about this Hyundai coupe? The front looks like a blend of other sporty Asian cars, and the side greenhouse is seriously f*cked up. I'll take a Camaro any day, or keep my GTO for that matter.
  18. According to LS1gto.com, there are still 10 new GTOs left What about a used Corvette? There's a used 2006 14k miles for $35k buy it now on eBay right now. I bet a new Camaro would cost $35k optioned out. Unless you need more than two seats, 2 year old Corvette with 14k miles > new Camaro (IMO).
  19. The 9-4x and BRX will have 2.0L diesels. I'm not sure what the base engine is, I know what the code for it is and it's not a current engine.
  20. The outside looks like $h!, the inside is alright.
  21. I would think so, but what are we going to do? Take them to court?
  22. TE is AWD. It's not Theta. TE is quite a bit different and much improved. It's also AWD. Oh please... the RX uses the same formula and sells like hotcakes.
  23. Yeah, his grandma said something like "He's a juicy baby" I think.
  24. PCS, I would send this to Z and Fly through PM to make sure they read it.
  25. It says it is available on the regular Escalade and ESV in the press release.
