  1. I don't see how a 340hp 3400lbs car would be faster than a 422hp 3850lbs car? Simple power to weight ratio there... Also, who says the Mustang isn't going to get heavy, as well? Especially if it gets IRS, the Mustang is going to add a considerable amount of weight.
  2. According to media.gm.com, the stick in the V6 model is only 9lbs less than the auto, but you are correct, the auto weighs a lot more than the stick in the V8 model. That seems sort of odd, but I guess it must be beefed up a lot vs. the V6 auto. The weights seem off somehow... an LS auto is less than an LS manual, and perhaps LS and LT are switched on the spec sheet, because it says LS weighs more than LT? As for the 2010 Mustang, I don't think there's many people that would be willing to bet money that it's weight won't increase by at least 100lbs. Also on the weight subject, consider how much more advanced and complex the Camaro's chassis is than the Mustang's, that has to add some weight. Is the 2010 Mustang getting IRS?
  3. An SS is 3850lbs with a manual (I think the auto is like 10 pounds more?). 150lbs of options seems like a lot, no?
  4. The Camaro won't compete with the current Mustang for long. Probably less than a year. I doubt the NG Mustang is much lighter than the Camaro. Camaro is also wider and longer than the Mustang.
  5. Wow, it looks like a cross between a ton of different cars. Aura truck, Civic rear lights, obviously the grille is terrible. Headlights are ok, but the grille ruins them. Profile could be mistaken for 15 other cars. Wow, Honda, wow. After the pretty good-looking current car, you do this?
  6. I agree the interior is kinda blah, but I used to hate it and now it seems acceptable. As for weight, the article said 3700lbs.
  7. I don't think that this means there is no navigation. If it's an RS interior as well, then obviously it's probably not top-of-the-line. The interior looks neither cheap nor amazing, just acceptable. If I had to guess, I'd say the materials aren't as good as the GTO's, but obviously it is hard to guess from just these pictures. If the interior is only slightly better than the Mustang, I hope they offer a "nice interior" upgrade so that those who care about the interior can have a pretty nice one. The "premium interior" in the Mustang is worlds better than the base Mustang, though it's still pretty mediocre.
  8. From this shot, I think the rear is too Saab-ish and rounded, but I'll wait for good pics to decide.b
  9. Hmm, that's interesting, but I'm guessing the price is a bit steep to compete with the upper-end Outbacks.
  10. This is stupid to release all of these pictures early. I guess not that many people will see them perhaps, but it's going to do nothing to increase sales right now. If anything, it may hurt sales if people wait to buy these rather than current models. As for the vehicles themselves, I'd say they look pretty nice. Hard to tell for sure because of the grainy photos, though. The LaCrosse looks rather big, but I'm guessing it's no bigger and probably smaller than the current model. It just has a much loner wheelbase. I think the Cruze, Equinox, and SRX/BRX/whatever look the best (and are probably the 3 most important). Now it's time to get these products out. I don't understand why the Cruze isn't coming sooner if it's being produced elsewhere sooner. That's retarded.
  11. 15? We're you trying to get poor mileage? The GTO gets 14MPG driving like a bat out of a hell. Last tank I went a little easier on it and it got 15.2, all in city except for a mile or two on the highway.
  12. They would have more success selling the CTS-V wagon there. I'm pretty sure the M5 wagon outsells the M5 sedan in Europe.
  13. The Camaro is getting the 3.6 standard. Obviously people snapped up $50k GT500s when they could have had a Vette too... Different strokes for different folks.
  14. Meh, it is ok, but far too generic for a luxury-branded vehicle.
  15. Who cares what the name is, we should be more concerned whether or not GM will finally be able to build a world-class compact. Cruze, Cobalt, Crapalier, doesn't make a whole lot of difference. Names like xB and tC didn't stop Scion from selling lots of those cars. Cruze may actually appeal quite well to younger people, the people who will make up a good portion of the vehicle's sales.
  16. Best drinking game of all time: Harvard. Essentially a combination of beer pong and flippy cup. Use a 6 beer pong rack (or 10, if you really want to), and get teams of 5 or so, each person with a cup for flippy cup. One person on each side stands behind the beer pong rack like a game of beer pong, and they throw the ping pong balls (one person at a time). Both of these people have a cup on the side for flippy cup, and the rest of the people stand along the sides of the beer pong table with cups for flippy cup. Let's say team A makes a cup. The person throwing the ball on team B has to drink the cup that is made from the beer pong rack and their cup for flippy cup, then flippy cup begins for team B. For team A, the person that makes the cup just drinks their flippy cup cup and nothing else (so not making the cup puts team B down by a cup to drink) and flippy cup begins for team A. As soon as the cup is made in the beer pong rack, flippy cup begins. If team A gets done flipping all their cups first, team B has to take away the cup that was made from the beer pong rack. If team B wins, the cup stays. The team that makes all the other team's beer pong cups and then beats them in flippy cup wins. A little confusing when trying to understand at first, but play a round correctly and it's easy to understand what's going on.
  17. I'm not sure what you mean by "system wax." What I got comes in the same bottle as this but it is not a cleaner wax: http://cgi.ebay.com/3M-One-Step-Cleaner-Wa...VQQcmdZViewItem And this is what we had at the dealership, I think: http://cgi.ebay.com/3M-39026-Perfect-It-Sh...VQQcmdZViewItem Haha, well I guess if the shipping costs have an adjustment of somewhere around $20k, a deal could possibly be made Thanks, I love my rims, they really set off the car and go great with silver.
  18. From my experience, both are good waxes, but 3M just seems slightly better to me. I first learned about 3M wax at the dealership. There was a brand new Silvy with a bird crap stain on it, probably 2 inches in diameter or thereabouts. Anyways, I tried to buff it out using just regular wax as the guy that was training me (this was one of the first couple weeks on the job) instructed me to do. So I put on a nice blob of wax and set the buffer there for a good 20-30 seconds, nothing happened. So, the guy says "Here, watch this." He goes and gets the 3M wax out of the storage cabinet (I didn't know it was even in there) and put a nice block on the stain. 10 or 15 seconds of letting the buffer sit on the spot, the stain was gone. Now, this is not the same wax I got (or at least I don't think it was), but I was still quite pleased with it. The one I got claims to be the #1 wax used by professional detailers (it had a label on it saying so). Anyways, yeah, I'd take him up on the offer if he's just letting you try it out. Easy to put on, and it came off pretty easily too. Mothers, if I remember from the few times I've used it, takes quite a bit of elbow grease to take off.
  19. Well, a couple weeks ago there wasn't much work to do at work, so I got off early a couple days... as a result, I decided to detail the Goat, which was a bit dirty. In all, it took about 6 hours if I remember correctly, and I didn't even touch the interior. Washed it, clayed it, washed it again, and then waxed it with some great 3M wax (some of the best out there). After waxing the body, I waxed the wheels and shined the tires. The results:
  20. The NG Aura was at least supposed to have a wagon version, I don't know if it's still a go or not, though.
  21. Well, that sucks, but there's always the aftermarket for those that want super-high performance Camaros.
  22. I hope it doesn't look like that...
  23. Looks nice! I agree some wheels would definitely improve the look. The concept wheels were much better (as are the optional 19s).
  24. About time! Should have been here last year, when fuel prices start their rise. Not that I would ever buy a tiny car like that, but lots of people would.
