You have that backward. The P-Zero Nero's are awesome tires. I have them on the GTO and they stick like glue, even under full throttle. Tirerack rated the all-season version the best ultra high-performance all-season. The P-Zero Rosso's are what they put on Cobalt SS's and they aren't rated very well on Tirerack. As for the tires on the Saab, those are the new tires that are considered one of the best in the world, simply called P-Zero. I believe the F430, 599GTB, R8, and Gallardo use them among other supercars, so they're obviously great tires.

Lake Orion GM workers tell McCain ‘thanks, but no thanks’
Northstar replied to Oracle of Delphi's topic in The Lounge
Probably why McCain went to the plant, to try and sway some of the workers. I don't really like McCain much, but I'm fearful that Obama's plans will mean less small businesses and entrepreneurship, which is certainly not a good thing. The middle class already helps pay for the lower class's needs, and I see those costs rising under Obama, which is not a good thing. People should be encouraged to go to school, learn, and start their own business, and I fear Obama's plans may give more incentive to doing the opposite of that. -
Top GM execs tell how they first learned about the company
Northstar replied to Oracle of Delphi's topic in General Motors
What company doesn't do that? Do you have any idea how expensive it is to make each one totally different for each market? Essentially what you're saying is that all BMW's are just badge-engineered versions of BMWs sold elsewhere, but because they are all sold under the BMW nameplate they aren't badge engineered. Basically, you're saying if the G8 came here as a Holden Commodore, and was sold everywhere else as a Holden Commodore instead of all the other nameplates, it wouldn't be badge engineered, but because the various models have different fascias in some cases and have different names, they are badge-engineered. Wow, just wow. -
Top GM execs tell how they first learned about the company

Solstice and Sky don't share any body panels, IIRC. The Lambdas are well differentiated. Epsilon cars don't share body panels. G8 only shares them with another car that's not sold here. Really, aside from the CSVs and G3, G5, and Torrent, along with the big trucks, most stuff is pretty well differentiated. -
2009 Honda Fit and Ridgeline at the Georgian College Autoshow
Northstar replied to !!!TED!!!'s topic in Other Auto Shows
I'd buy a Fit if I were in the market for such a car, the Ridgeline is so ugly I wouldn't even consider it. -
Pontiac Defends The G3 Insertion Into The Lineup
Northstar replied to Oracle of Delphi's topic in Heritage Marques
I agree, but it doesn't appear GM thinks Pontiac has anything to offer in the future, and at the same time think Saturn does have something to offer. Might as well make the most of the brands GM considers relevant. I've thought for some time that a merger involving GM and Honda could make a very strong lineup, with GM killing all brands but Chevy and Cadillac, and thus the result being Chevy-Honda, Acura-Cadillac, each a step above the other... this could be the case with Chevy-Saturn-Buick-Cadillac, though Saturn and Buick need to gain recognition in the marketplace compared to Honda and Acura. -
Pontiac Defends The G3 Insertion Into The Lineup
Northstar replied to Oracle of Delphi's topic in Heritage Marques
In a few years Pontiac won't have the Solstice or G8, therefore nothing will be any more sporty than the Chevy counterpart. I agree with ZL-1 about making Pontiac be the fleet division. Pontiac and GMC can both be fleeted Chevys, and BPG dealers can be given Saturn in exchange. I think Saturn and Buick would compliment each other nicely, sort of like a VW-Audi, but on a less-expensive scale (at least for Buick and most of Saturn... give Saturn Corsa, Astra, Vue, MPV, Sky (if there is a next one), to take on the lower VWs, and let Buick start off with something to take on the Jetta and Passat, along with Enclave and perhaps one other car. -
The ES doesn't really compete with the CTS, IMO. Perhaps slightly, but really the ES's only competition is the TL, both of which sell pretty well. Passat also competes slightly perhaps. ES sells well because it satisfies a relatively big market (people who want a FWD luxury car because they're scared to drive RWD in snow, but don't want a barge, ie DTS) and has relatively few competitors. Not saying the LaCrosse will come in and take a large chunk of sales or outsell it at the same price, but part of the reason the ES sells so well is the competition, or lack thereof.

I have Verizon, LGVX8700. The phone is ok, but has had a few bugs. Before this phone I had a VX8600 (flip chocolate) and it was a total piece of crap... I went through three of them in less than a year, and they soon stopped making them. Got upgraded to the 8700 free after the 3rd one broke. I'll never buy an LG again; Verizon service is pretty good around here.

Truly looks like an American Lexus. The LS wants its tailpipes back. The interior looks very good, exterior is pretty good but nothing spectacular, pretty much like a Lexus. Looks like there's an MKS, E-Class, and Passat (?) in one of the pics testing with it. If priced right, I could see my dad buying one of these.

The front end is relatively aggressive, and the side and rear are certainly not ordinary. Overall, it may not look all that aggressive, but compared to the Prius it certainly has a lot more pizazz. It is a distinctive design that doesn't rely on oddities like the Prius to look distinctive.

After Employee Pricing Ends 9/30/08 - What's Next?
Northstar replied to rivieraranch's topic in General Motors
Probably back to huge discounts that give basically the same deal or sometimes better than employee pricing. -
The man is obviously pretty popular if he has been nominated for president. On the flip side, everyone wants to do away with Republicans in the White House, yet Obama is trailing in most polls... Please don't tell me you just said that... Bush had the lowest approval rating of any re-elected President since 1948, 49%, which is 10 to 20 points lower than any other re-elected President in history. I'm pretty sure it's happening both ways... ----------------------------------------- I don't mind political threads, except when people blatantly choose one side and bash the other side, as it seems pretty much everyone is doing in this thread. It's really rather childish and stupid...

Perhaps you should have thought about what orders were given before you performed them, to insure they made sense (ie your boss was not intoxicated)?
-
The CTS is $10-15k more expensive than a G8, how is that competition? Some people might go down from the Cadillac to the Pontiac, but GM would get many more sales from people who can't afford the CTS. CTS also offers AWD.

Saturn: General Motors's brand for the future
Northstar replied to Oracle of Delphi's topic in Heritage Marques
How many times will Saturn be reinvented at the expense of other brands? -
The exterior look pretty good from the front, the back is so-so, but overall it kicks the crap out of the Prius. Interior looks pretty good as well. What's with the gearshift?
-
Pontiac should be getting a 3rd Alpha if there is one. Pontiac and Cadillac alone would probably be the best two, but of course Chevy has to have one of everything. Pontiac has no business pawning off a Chevy rebadge. Just kill the brand if that's all it's going to be.
-
The Buick is pointless... dump the money into the Cadillac and give Buick a Delta II-based vehicle if they need a small car.

General Motors Corp.'s all-time top sellers

I remember reading that the Impala did 1 million in one year once, I think sometime in the 60s. -
Ok, well even if she has some wacko religious beliefs, that doesn't mean she's going to be able to make you or anyone else in the country follow them, even if she becomes president.

So is voting republican in a state that is for sure going to be democratic, or vice versa. At the very least, it's better than not voting at all, even if it has the same effect.

The Electoral Map: Key States (Political)

Perhaps it is possible, but I doubt it would happen. As for the Catholic teaching, I just figured that was what Palin probably based her views on, but apparently I'm not correct. If a rape were to occur, the women could get a birth control pill the next day and everything would be fine...
-
I don't usually get involved in political stuff, but this is a pretty uneducated quote. First of all, I highly doubt the ruling of pro-choice will be reversed, and even if it is, if you go by the Catholic teachings (I am not Catholic but I did go to a Catholic school, so I know) then in cases such as the one you listed, birth control is acceptable. In such a case, assuming the girl reported the incident, she would be allowed to take a morning after pill at the hospital and not be doing anything wrong, again according to the Catholic church. But the ruling is never going to be reversed, so it is stupid to get into this in the first place.
