    ......

If the current Navigator actually had genuine materials (the "aluminum" is just paint) it would be awesome. As is, it's a good design that needs to get the cost-cutting taken out. I would be surprised if the next Navigator's interior is very much better than the Escalade's. There is some room for improvement, but the Escalade's interior appears to be pretty damn good.
  2. I realize they put the Z06 up there, but the base Vette can go 186, so it should technically be up there too. I would think a GTO could go over 155 if it didn't have the limiter.
  3. I guess it's not a flop based on Ford's estimates for production, but 100k isn't too impressive when the Impala is doing close to 300k, even if 70k of the Impala's sales are to fleets.
  4. Yeah, the Miata is both lighter and has a smaller enine (and is also less powerful). Lots of GM cars suffer vs. the competition in terms of fuel economy because of the old 4-speed automatics.
  5. Congrats, it was well deserved.
  6. To be honest, I think it would be good if GM kept fleet sales about the same. Sure, it's not great for profit and maybe it's not always good for GM's image, but if GM starts making exceptional vehicles, then the rental fleets are a great way to get a Toyota or Honda driver that would never even think about a GM into a GM and change their opinion. Right now though, it's probably best to cut fleet sales until those better vehicles come, and let consumers' opinions of Ford and Chrysler sink.
  7. I'm not so sure that's a good idea. I think 350Zs can get up to about $35k, and I'm guessing the V8 would come at a pretty big premium. I think most buyers would spend a few more bucks and go for the Vette if the 450Z gets over $40k.
  8. Well, that's certainly good news if it's true. It would appear the Red Tag event has at least brought sales back up to pre-employee pricing levels.
  9. How do you know the Camaro won't show up until 2 years after the Challenger? Do GM and Chrysler have some sort of agreement that it has to be that way? Last I heard the Camaro production model was scheduled to be released in early '08 as an '09 model. As for no one seeing one? Well, if these spy pics didn't get out, no one would have ever seen the Challenger until NAIAS 2006 either.
  10. That may be, but with more vehicles like the Solstice Pontiac's image will change almost instantly. I don't see anyone not buying a Solstice because it's a Pontiac. If Saab can make money then I wouldn't cut it, but if they're making relatively little money I see no reason to give them 6 or so low volume products if Pontiac and Buick only get 3 or 4. If the vehicles went to one of the other two brands they would probably sell in much larger volumes and bring in a lot more cash, which is GM's biggest concern right now.
  11. Well, if Saab can make money I suppose it's okay to keep around. However, Saab should be limited to 3 vehicles IMO: Epsilon/Epsilon II 9-3 AWD Sigma Lite 9-5 Then either a Lambda or TE crossover. That's IT. If Saab gets another 9-2x (after the current one is dead), the 9-4x TE, and a 9-6 Lambda crossover and the roadster they were talking about, then that's horseshit. If GM invested the same money in Pontiac and/or Buick and gave them that many vehicles they'd sell A LOT more than Saab and rake in millions rather than the few pennys Saab will make.
  12. Well, that one will sit on the lot for a while. I'm guessing that it will still be there by the time other dealers have '07 Z06s, and then no one will want the '06.
  13. Are we sure that's real? The headlights don't look very real to me.
  14. GM - Corvette Ford - Mustang GT Chrysler - 300 SRT8 Euro - BMW 330i Asian - Lexus GS300
  15. Exactly. Oct 05 was down 19% when compared to Oct 04. Jan-Oct 05 sales are up 4.8% vs. Jan-Oct 04 sales. There's no manipulation going on by the author.
  16. I would think a Cobra with 465rwhp would be pretty damn quick. I guess that just goes to show how fast the Z06 really is.
  17. No, you're right. That design is much better than the current CTS interior. I sure hope the '08 Malibu looks as good inside as is supposed to on the outside. Otherwise GM has no reason to compete.
  18. Well, C&D did factor in styling when it tested the two, and the Mustang did beat the GTO pretty handily in that department, but the GTO made up the difference in others. Even after they factored in as-tested prices, the GTO was still ahead. The Mustang only won because of some "gotta-have it" BS. IMO, "gotta-have it" factor has nothing to do with how good it is, and because styling was already factored in that arguement should be null-and-void; apparantly "gotta-have it" has to do with how cool people will think you are driving one. Also, if styling matters a lot, I would scratch the Accord and add the Fusion or Mazda6, even though I personally feel the Accord is probably the best vehicle out of the three, even though I'd never buy one because of looks alone.
  19. Meh, it's okay. The one with the snowflake and heated windshield-wiper fluid was better.
  20. Well, just because he think's that the Enclave is nice doesn't mean he thinks Buick should stick around. Maybe the Outlook and Acadia are just as nice, which would mean there would be very little reason to buy the Enclave other than styling differences and the Buick badge if the Enclave is more expensive. Personally, I think Saab should go before any other brand is even close to being on the chopping block. First, they have very few models (and the 9-5 and 9-3 are the only ones that cost GM very much to develop, the other two are badge jobs), and second, the dealer base is much smaller than that of Pontiac or Buick, which would mean less dealers revolting like they did when Olds was killed.
  21. I don't like any of the exterior, but the interior is first rate, although I think without the NAV that there will be tons of empty space (there already is a lot of empty space under the HVAC units). On the interior at least, the Aura is already beat.
  22. The original plan was to give the G6 the 2.8L, but it would have been more expensive than going with the 3.5L; so, giving it the 2.8L would raise the price, not lower it.
  23. You should re-read it again: "Through September, Cadillac's U.S. light-vehicle sales were up 7.9%, well outpacing the market's 2.8% gain overall. But a 19.1% decline in October has cut into that growth, and Cadillac sales now lead like-2004 by a smaller 4.8% margin." So the overall sales for the year slipped from up 7.9% to up 4.8% because of a 19.1% decline in October.
  24. Yesterday I saw a Lucerne ad twice. It basically just featured the hot windshield wiper spray getting rid of snow flakes and never showed the interior. It wasn't bad, but it could have been better.
  25. Ok, then take that interior and put in the new GMNA radio and HVAC units but in piano black. Or, in other words, take that interior and insert these radio and HVAC units:
