  1. I didn't know it was because of the firewall, but it is because it would look disproportionate if they made it shorter. I think they could have shortened the wheelbase some more and gotten overall length down that way. It still would be way overweight regardless.
  2. Dodge is now claiming that this 4100lb beast does 0-60 in 4.5s. Unless they have some insane gearing, there's no way it's going to be faster than the much lighter GTO.
  3. He's talking about cameras placed in the building. The past couple years at the Chicago show you could use the cams to look around the building and some people found the Lucerne and some other debuts sitting on the show floor before they had been unveiled. Thus, we had pics of the car before any "official" pics came out.
  4. You can tell it's more "safe and boring" than your average luxury car, just look at the side profile and tell me what's not safe and boring about it. Sure, there's camo, but you can pretty much see what the side of the car is going to look like.
  5. Excellent pricing, it should be another hit for GM.
  6. That NAV screen is seriously tiny. Take that interior, move the air vents up to level with the instrument cluster, insert the new GMNA radio beneath them and the new HVAC beneath those and you have your VUE interior.
  7. I think it could be done a lot better. I'd like something more like the T2X roof, more sloping and smooth than what is pictured.
  8. The spoiler doesn't look very good at all in those pics. I see they fixed the alignment issue with the glove box though.
  9. Copy + Paste this into your address bar, Ghost, then download: http://gm.wieck.com/forms/gm/previewpage?028134
  10. Hmm, Chevy Kappa, eh? I wonder if that means it has to be a roadster. My guess on the code is GMX021.
  11. Hmm, I think we may have found a VERY rough, cartoonish sketch of the Enclave. The front is obviously not going to be that aggressive and the wheels are way bigger than anything we'll see, but let's take a look at it a little closer. Here's what AH-HA said about the Enclave: There are definetly some sweeps on the side, it has a Velite grill, and while the headlights are not as vertical as the Velites, they are more vertical than the Centieme's.
  12. That's actually pretty stylish for a minivan. I'm not in love with it, but it's certainly pretty cool looking for a minivan.
  13. For anyone wondering, all of the jib-jab that AH-HA posted was from MT. And the last paragraph is pretty contradictory: "The unique Sting Ray styling, a V6 engine and high content also could come along just as everyone who wants a Solstice or Sky has already bought one... it could be a winner." I don't see how they think it will be a winner if everyone that wants a roadster has a Solstice or Sky.
  14. I don't think this is going to happen. Think about it: Almost every credible bit of info MT and other mags get is talked about on here long before the mags every say a whisper about it. I highly doubt GM would be so dumb to offer such a car when it has a Camaro coming out in a similar timeframe most likely. I'm all for expanding Kappa, but not with roadster after roadster. We know Kappa can house a V8, how about streching it and making an El Camino that has V6 or V8 power, is relatively lightweight (especially for a vehicle that has a truck bed), and would handle on rails. That'd give GM something unique that no one else has -- a segment buster if you will. Kappa has tons of potential, it's just coming up with unique ideas and making that potential reality that is difficult.
  15. Yep, the GXP's got duals.
  16. They did that when the current Aveo debuted. I don't recall any shows other than Chicago having webcams though, but I could just be mistaken.
  17. Probably Chicago or NY. The Lambdas have to debut somewhere too (at least the Outlook and one other).
  18. It could be the Sky Redline. In a Pontiac brochure (G6 I think) there were a bunch of clay models, and one of them is VERY similar to the front of the Solstice GXP.
  19. I think the ASC's are just conversions like the 300 convertible. The Ford sporty car is probably yet another Shelby concept.
  20. According to Autonews, these are the vehicles debuting at NAIAS. Previously we had heard the Acadia was debuting as a concept but they claim the Enclave is debuting as a production model. Production vehicles 2006 Audi S6 2006 BMW Z4 roadster 2008 Buick Enclave 2007 Cadillac Escalade ESV, EXT 2007 Chrysler Aspen 2007 Dodge Caliber 2007 Ford Edge 2007 Ford Shelby Cobra GT500 2007 Honda Fit 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe 2007 Jaguar XK convertible 2007 Jeep Wrangler 2007 Jeep Compass 2007 Lexus LS 460 2007 Lincoln MKX 2007 Mercedes-Benz GL SUV 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder 2007 Nissan Sentra 2007 Nissan Versa 2007 Saturn Vue Green Line hybrid 2007 Toyota Camry Concept vehicles Acura RDX crossover ASC Cosmos ASC TriLite Chevrolet Camaro coupe Chevrolet Tahoe hybrid Dodge Challenger coupe Ford sporty car Ford truck, special powertrain Hyundai HCD-9 Talus 4-door Kia Soul SUV Lincoln sedan Mazda Kabura sports coupe Mini Traveller wagon Mitsubishi Concept-CT MIEV Nissan Urge convertible Volvo C30 hatchback
  21. Actually, the G6's I4 competes pretty well with the Camry I4. Same displacement, slightly more power, and slightly worse fuel economy. I think GM claims fuel economy goes up 8% when you go from a 4-speed to a 6-speed, so if they stick the 6-speed in it then it would probably get about the same or maybe even better. I think that's the real thing that hurts GM's fuel economy, the damn 4-speed autos. The V6s are way off of the Camry's figures, but I guess that's because 1) 4-speed vs. 6-speed, and 2) GM for whatever reason refuses to use their better engines in their most important and highest volume vehicles.
  22. The GTOs is probably the best I've heard. The Corvette's (haven't heard a Z06 in real life) is more muted and it's like they're trying to make it sound more civilized that it could sound, I guess. I haven't heard many exoctics or high-end imports like the 6-Series or SL, so I can't comment on those.
  23. From the list of standard features it looks like it will be pretty hard for the Aura or GMX386 Malibu to beat it, but if GM gets with the program and starts benchmarking this Camry's standard equipment for 386 and 386 matches it, then I think there's a good chance it can steal some sales.
  24. We've got high-res ones posted already. Check the LA Auto Show section.
  25. New pics from chevy.com: The black looks great! :D Some of the interior: 6-pass seating?
