Very creative, but I'm not sure what the point of the circular interior is.

That's a good point, but remember that compared to Chevy or Ford, Toyota and Honda don't have many dealerships either. I think more dealers will try to get a Saturn dealership when they see the great new products, and I also feel that because Saturn dealerships are located in relatively highly populated areas (unlike lots of Chevy dealers who might be in a town of 10000 people) that probably 90% of buyers still have a Saturn dealership relatively nearby.

Yes, GMT900s are Lutz vehicles. Everything from the Solstice on will be Lutz vehicles (Sky, Aura, Outlook, Acadia, Enclave, just to name a few).
-
Personally, I think the Escalade looks finished and elegant, while the Navigator looks gaudy.
-
Hopefully it gets a power upgrade in the form of the UV8 and DI 3.6 to stay ahead of the competition in performance. It sounds like everything that got "cancelled" to move up GMT900 was really just delayed, like Zeta.

We don't need two threads on the same thing, so please continue discussion here: http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...wtopic=5914&hl=

Boo to this decesion. If it has the 2.0 DI turbo standard for $20-21k, and has unique fascias vs. the Cobalt, then it will be acceptable.

It's definetly better than what you get from the factory, but it's overdone in some places. I don't like it on the seat, and I wouldn't put it all over the center console (around the gearshift is fine, though). As empowah said I wouldn't put it between the radio presets either, in fact I might just put it around all of the radio and HVAC controls and not have it between any of them, but I'd have to see how that looked. I agree with BV that something like the GTO would be much better. I love my interior.

That's true, but at least all of those are other vehicles haven't been redesigned in the last year. Since this Navigator is supposed to be "all-new" I would expect an increase in power... I bet that when those others are redesigned they receive a significant boost in power, like the Escalade received.

Analyzing poetry is probably my least favorite part of English class. To me, it's pretty much useless, and I could care less what the meaning of some poem is.

Nice ride, Nick. What year is it?

Yeah, with my Alero is would shake once you got close to 100, so the fastest I ever went in it was 102 (and that's the only time I ever took it over 100). With the GTO it's not even funny how fast you can get up to 60 or 100, and it feels perfectly stable at any speed I've had it at. I would never go very fast in a populated area, but we were out in the country at 11:30 at night and hadn't seen a car for 2-3 minutes.

Choppin' Competition 14 - Chevrolet Camaro Concept
Northstar posted a topic in Choppin' Competitions
Well, I've finally gotten off my lazy butt and decided to start a new comp. I got a little burned out from the comps and haven't had much free time with basketball to keep them going. Anyways... Welcome to Choppin' Competition 14! Your task is to chop the photo provided below in any way you want. Change the wheels, background, etc. Please resize your entries to 768 pixels wide. Please copy + paste the link below into your browser (clicking it will not work) and download the pic: http://gm.wieck.com/forms/gm/previewpage?028751 Also, I realize the angle is not necessarily the most common angle for chopping, so if lots of people object to it I will select a different pic in a more natural angle. -
The mesh makes the grills look less hideous, but the front still needs some work. The interior is very good.

The interior looks better in the Edmunds pics with the exception of the unfinished-looking vents above the stack, but the Escalade's interior is more flowing and a step above, IMO. The front still looks like crap, the taillights are way too big, and the huge chrome slab combined with the dated sides (same as the old one) makes the exterior look terrible. Oh, and the Escalade has 103 extra HP.

If I was getting a Lucerne V6, I'd wait for next year when it gets the 3900.

Amy Wilson Jamie LaReau Automotive News / February 12, 2006 - 3:46 pm http://autonews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?...1/1003&refsect= ORLANDO, Fla. -- Ford Motor Co. says its Ford brand actually outsold Chevrolet in 2005. Ford will demand that Chevrolet stop advertising itself as America’s top brand, a company official said. But General Motors CEO Rick Wagoner responded Sunday that GM will stand by sales data showing Chevrolet won the 2005 sales crown. R.L. Polk & Co. registration data received by Ford executives Saturday morning showed that Ford had 5,000 more total registrations in 2005 than Chevrolet, spokesman Jim Cain said. Ford quickly whipped up a slide on the Polk data to include in its meeting with dealers Sunday here at the National Automobile Dealers Association convention. Chevrolet earlier reported sales of 2,651,124 vehicles in 2005. Ford’s reported sales were 2,634,041. Chevrolet has been blanketing the airwaves with commercials touting it as America’s top brand. Ford intends to send GM a letter this week asking that Chevrolet change the ads, Cain said. “The lesson here is to make sure that all the facts are in your favor before you make such a bold claim,” he said. “Fair is fair.” According to Ford, Polk data show 2.630 million total registrations in 2005 compared with 2.625 million for Chevrolet. Even when medium-duty trucks are exempted, Ford still had the most registrations, Cain said. Polk registrations show the number of vehicles registered by retail and fleet customers. The earlier data released by the manufacturers reflect sales as reported by dealers. A GM spokeswoman said sales data are the industry standard and that there are always discrepancies between sales and registration data. Wagoner said GM will stand by its claim based on sales data. “All I know is the data we published and we all go by,” Wagoner said. “That’s been out a month or so. Our data is right. It’s published, public data, which has come out.”

I think we've had threads like this before, but maybe not on the new forum. Anyways, last night I took out four of my friends on a country road with no one around and we went 132MPH in the GTO before we had to shut it down (stop sign). I could tell a noticealbe difference in acceleration with 600 extra pounds of weight in the car, but it still picked up pretty damn quickly. Somewhat amazingly, the GTO still felt totally under control and stable at that speed. We also did some sweet donuts in a parking lot with plenty of smoke, but that's another story. On a side note, I think I've been at 115+ 4 times now. So, what's the fastest everyone's gone in a vehicle?

I was thinking about the "hood scoop" on the Camaro yesterday, and whether it was really functional or not. Anyways, regardless of whether it is functional, it's not needed with the LS2. The LS2 is a "bottom breather" meaning it takes in air from underneath. The reason the Z06 has a little hood scoop is because the LS7 is not a bottom breather but rather a "front breather" meaning it takes in air from the front/top of the engine. So, knowing that, even if the scoop is funtional, it probably does very little for cooling the LS2, so... maybe that hints at the LS7 or another front breathing engine being possible in the future for the Camaro.

Different sheetmetal and interior? I don't think they'll be too much alike...
-
I think a GXP in the current G6 is useless. They might as well wait for the next-gen since it will have AWD available.
-
It looks pretty good from what I can see. It's too bad he didn't take any interior pics when the guy helped the person put their luggage in it.
-
Is an lightly-used SRX more than you want to spend? Or is it possible "too nice" since you'll be having dogs in it a lot of the time? I know I suggested it before but since you didn't say anything I thought maybe you didn't see it. Seriously, $30k for a 2004 SRX V8 AWD with quite a few features is a pretty damn good price, IMO, considering the price of new ones.
-
That's unfortunate, but who's to say if the new ones won't be improved and not break?
-
Boo to Saab getting more models. Why should Saab get more models when GM could make a lot of profit if it made kickass Pontiacs, Buicks, and Chevrolets instead with all the R&D money?
