  1. That sucks. Hopefully when they return to profitability they will decide to bring it back. I think it was probably pretty expensive for them to do.
  2. I saw a Raider today. That might have been the first one on the road. I saw two dumb things too: a kid in an Impala with SS emblems on it (It was a pre-'06) and it definetly wasn't an SS and a late 70s/early 80s Cutlass with dub-fo's on it and it wasn't lowered back down at all. The front end was probably a foot and a half off the ground.
  3. I think "Less bling than Cadillac" is definetly what Buick should be going for, and I feel the Enclave accomplishes this pretty well.
  4. I remember something about a Z71 too. Maybe they're '08 models, though that is a LONG time.
  5. Well, if the Commodore comes here as the G8/GP, and isn't as big as the current GP (it looks much smaller), then the G6 and G8/GP will be closer together in size. I personally would like to see the GP/G8 be about 191in OAL and the G6 about 185.
  6. Wow, that would be awesome! The GTO costs about $50 to fill up now, but at that price it'd probably be about $35. It would also be great for GM with the T900s coming.
  7. Looks pretty good to me. The small size is good. The G6 should be about 188 inches long and the GP should be about 193 inches long. Sort of like how the CTS and STS are now.
  8. The taillights looks like something from a Hyundai or Kia, but other than that it looks pretty good.
  9. If it wasn't for the terrible cutline, I'd say that's better than the Aveo.
  10. Judging from the colored pic, it looks like the center stack will be integrated very well.
  11. This is the M80: Now, I'm not a huge fan of the styling but I love the idea. It would not be like the SSR. Similar in concept but it would have a fixed roof and be under $15k if possible. Also it would have I4s rather than a V8 - what better way to get people into a truck in a time of high gas prices than to offer something that could potentially get 20 MPG city and 30 MPG highway?
  12. There was an extra selling day this year vs. last year (in April). The percentages are done on a day-by-day basis, not on total sales.
  13. samuel's IP is fine. Everyone is going to have a different opinion about the way a car rides and handles. In samuel's opinion, the Impala SS may be fine, while in other members' opinions, it may not be. I have not driven one so I cannot say, but members need to respect the opinions of others and realize not everyone has the same wants and needs.
  14. This may go to Lutz as well depending on how many people respond, but first I'd just like to see what ideas everyone has for a flexible Kappa II architecture. I'd like to see: Pontiac: Solstice, and a vehicle with 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-door variants. 2.4L Ecotec with the 2.0L DIT optional. Buick: Possibly a sedan if it has a clear direction different than that of the Pontiac. 2.8L and 3.6L HF V6s Saturn: Sky, possibly a coupe a la the Curve but with different styling. 2.4L Ecotec and 2.0L DIT on Redline models. Chevy: Nomad, trucklet coming in under $15k (see Dodge M80). 2.4L and 2.0L DIT on SS. Cadillac: BLS, BLC (coupe + convert) 2.8L and 3.6L HF V6s with the V-Series getting a ~400 DIT 3.6L What ideas does everyone else have? I'd like to get the creative juices flowing to give GM a lot of different ideas.
  15. Solstice, XLR, and SL today.
  16. Currently I just have the BFG KDWS P245/45ZR17s, but they aren't that great. I'd probably go for the Pirellis, but if you are going to get new tires definetly ask the guys at LS1GTO.com
  17. The 2008MY (GMX386) Malibu is indeed the one that journalists were drooling over.
  18. Taking such a beating on the truck side is really going to show up on Ford's bottom line. LR is doing pretty good, but the Escalade (not counting ESV or EXT) outsold all of LR.
  19. Well, the Uplander, Astro, Suburban, Trailblazer, Colorado, Canyon, Envoy, Yukon XL, and Rendezvous were all down significantly. Car sales were pretty bad, but if they really cut fleet sales by 10.5% then maybe it wasn't so bad afterall.
  20. I told ya you should have just traded for an LS1 So far, my LS1 has been flawless except that it needed new spark plugs when we first got it (which probably had something to do with sitting for 6 months). The CEL has come on once or twice, but that's because the computer gets confused sometimes and thinks there is a problem because of the performance camshaft.
  21. Well, with the exception of the non-fold-flat third row seat, I'd say the Tahoe is better in basically every way than any of its competitors. I don't see why GM can't give the Zetas better handling, more power, better fuel economy, more refined engines, better interiors, and better styling than the LX cars. The handling and power are both there for the LX cars, but fuel economy is average, the 3.6 and LSx engines are more refined than the 3.5 and Hemi, the interiors are average (so I would hope a 2009MY car could have a better interior than a 2005MY car that has an avg. interior for 2006), and the styling while bold really is nothing that makes you drop your jaw in awe.
  22. I think when you fire up the 5.3 it fires all 8 cylinders. There's no way a 4cyl could sound like the 5.3 sounds when you turn the key.
  23. Croc: I think ocnblu was simply saying the Zetas will be personal transportation, not necessarily that the trucks would be personal transportation and then the Zetas would replace them as PT. In other words, the T900s will be carrying the load, but when the Zetas come they will take some of the heat off of the T900s by giving GM something exciting that provides people with personal transportation.
  24. Good little write-up for the Cobalt. I wonder how the HHR would have suited them in the same situation.
  25. Well, I guess if you want GM to have only the less-profitable low end market then that's okay, except for the fact that sales would probably be halved. I wonder what that would do to the bottom line? I've rarely heard of someone turning down something because it was "too nice," so unless that's the case with truck buyers, I don't see why GM would want to cheap-out on their most important product. Answer me this: Currently, almost every other truck has a nicer interior than GM's trucks. And, guess which trucks take huge incentives to move? GM's trucks. Maybe the interior is somewhat important.
