  1. How is the tC a sports car? It's anything but...
  2. The third row has plenty of legroom... 33.2 inches. For comparison, the TB EXT/Envoy XL had 32.2 inches of legroom, and they could fit people that were 6'2". If you look at picture of the Outlook, there is plenty of space on the lower level of the floor for feet, especially considering you can put some part of them below the 2nd row seat. The 2nd row seats do look a little low, but judging from the door panels, they appear to be the same heighth as the front row seats, so I'm guessing they're fine.
  3. Heh, but with the rate Toyota's are running into him, by the time all of the Aurora parts are gone, that Corrola may run into him and total itself.
  4. Man, that sucks. I'd be pissed if someone hit my GTO.
  5. In the one I sat in, the trim lined up fine from the dash to the door, so I'm wondering if that's something they fixed.
  6. Meh, I don't like it with the top up. I'm sure it'll look great when it's down, though.
  7. The Ractis looks like a new xA, and the Sienta looks like an ugly Mini.
  8. I'm not sure if you were talking to me or NOS here, but I want to be in some part of product development (whether that be powertrain, chassis, etc).
  9. It will be interesting to see how successful Scion is by basically having a 3-4 year product lifecycle and then killing it. I wouldn't be surprised if it worked against them in some cases; for instance, if they kill the xB and don't have anything similar to replace it, will some people be turned off and go elsewhere?
  10. Chrysler doesn't get anything from Germany unless you count the Crossfire. Even if they did, how would this make Chrysler and Saturn competitors? Chrysler gets RWD from MB, and GM is getting it from Holden. I see no reason why this means they would compete? I think VW and Chrysler broke their partnership. No way that Hummers and Saturns should be sold alongside each other. Because that's not Saturn's mission? The Charger and 300 drive similarly I think, so I don't see why this would make Chevy and Dodge American and Saturn and Chrysler European. Saturn needs the Corsa OR Astra, but not both, the Aura, Vue, Outlook, and Sky. Nothing more. What? Pontiac is the youth brand to some degree, and young people like fun-to-drive cars, therefore, RWD is the way to go. No, Buick competes with Chrysler, Lincoln, Mercury (a little), and should compete with Acura, Lexus, and some VWs in the future. Saturn is the brand that's competing with Toyota, Honda, and Nissan.
  11. How you tried terpetine on the interior?
  12. Umm, there have been countless times people have faulted GM for not putting it's best foot forward in terms of the powertrain when a model came out. The CTS is one of those vehicles, as well as the G6 (no 4cyl or 3.6), Aura (no 4cyl), Colorado, H3, and more. Just because GM does it doesn't mean that Lexus can do it and get away with it. GM gets bashed all the time for doing it, and Lexus should too. Maybe you should get over yourself and realize Lexus F'd up on this occasion, and quit making us try to believe that Lexus and Toyota are perfect, because they're not.
  13. So, this thread has become pointless, no? I'll let it go on as long as it's in good cheer.
  14. I'm going to go with "C" - Camry, Corolla, Civic, Cavalier, Cobalt, Camaro, Colorado, C-Class, Corsica, Cirrus, Cortina, Corvette, umm...
  15. Yeah, Cat would be fine too, I'd just rather work for Toyota because that'd be basically the job that I at least think I want to do. Cummins would be fine with me too. I'd really be open to basically anything that deals with something that has to do with autos, especially since I'd be making a good amount of money getting what's essentially job training. Apparantly Cat has some new mining truck that has to be assembled on site because it's so huge. They assemble most of it at the factory, but then they ship the big pieces and assemble it to its destination.
  16. We had the Engineering Employment EXPO over the past three days here at U of I, and I talked to several different companies. The only three automotive companies that were there though were Honda, Toyota, and Ford. I talked to all three, but Honda said they don't hire anyone who doesn't have at least a status of sophomore, and Ford said it was hard to get a job as a freshman. Toyota, however, seemed to be pretty interested in anyone who wanted to go into the Automotive field. GM didn't come for some reason (even though their website said they were coming) so obviously I didn't get to talk to anyone from GM. I also talked to Cummins (seemed somewhat interested), Caterpillar (very interested), Daxcon (they just told me to post my resume at their website), and I think one other company that I can't remember right now. I can still apply at GM's website, and I plan to, but I'm not sure that that sounds very promising in terms of getting an internship. I know this sounds "bad" but if I do get an intership offer from Toyota, I think I'm probably going to take it. Caterpillar would probably be my second option, and they have a research facility in my hometown, so that would be a plus probably, but the Toyota job would be basically what I want to do, just not necessarily with Toyota for my career.
  17. The first thing GM should cut are dealers who can't seem to sell any products because they hire lazy salesman. I noticed plenty of times when I was actually out on the lot (which wasn't much, most of the time I was detailing and not looking for a car that needed a wash) that there were customers looking at cars, and the salesmen had to have seen them, yet they just stood there talking to each other. Maybe that's why sales have fallen off so much there in the last few years.
  18. The RDX does not compete against the Enclave, but the MDX would. I'm expecting the Enclave to come in thousands less than the MDX, which is great, because it looks like it would cost at least $10k more.
  19. I think I'd just take a Vette convert.
  20. Maybe Seneca is the Chevy Lambda.
  21. Wow, that's amazing.
  22. It's on the SWB, same as the 9-3 sedan.
  23. Isn't there some building somewhere that's like 2000 feet tall? And the tallest one that's being planned is 1700... Also, I thought that Chicago was planning a building that was/is taller than the Sears Tower? Regardless, I think we've been showing the terrorists who's boss lately by blowing them the f*ck up.
  24. Wow, this is impressive. The interior looks like it has an i-drive type controller, which may explain why it's so bare. If it lost the vents under the headlights, and all three lower grills were aligned, it wouldn't look that bad.
  25. Damn, why didn't the US get this for a final edition of the GTO?
