  1. Not that I agree (although the interior is generic, but it's what truck buyers want), you speak what has worked for Toyota for years. You, like Toyota, don't seem to understand trucks. A truck (until the Ram) was not supposed to make a statement by how it looked (and still isn't). A truck makes it's statement by what it can do, and how long it lasts.
  2. It's not offered in purple. It's brown. You either need to have your eyes checked or adjust your monitor's settings. If the only thing you can complain about is the colors (which BTW, they do offer it in more than one color, in case you didn't know) then it must be pretty damn good.
  3. Did you look at the build dates on the ones you saw? Unless they were built recently, you have no evidence that it hasn't been fixed.
  4. Unless I'm mistaken, the Aveo can have this same interior, it just so happens Ted's pics have the tan interior instead of the black, so it's really a moot point.
  5. I hate winter, if for no other reason than that means I can't drive the GTO very often (because it sucks in snow, and because I don't want to get all the grime and salt on it).
  6. Wow. Grotesque. http://www.autoblog.com/2006/09/18/toyota-...of-2007-tundra/ The work truck Silverado isn't great looking, but at least it doesn't look like a pile of manure.
  7. Alright kids, enough with all this bickering. I fail to see why everyone seems to be coming on here lately and just getting mad at other people. Can't we just have some fun and not worry about fighting with harsh words if we don't agree? *Sigh*
  8. The interior looks pretty nice, except that it has way too many buttons and what looks like some sort of I-drive controller. I think I'll take an Acadia.
  9. As the people above said, it's not fair to compare some of them to the SS models. The TB SS is fairly stripped except for the engine being different, but the others are not. The Cobalt SS for example has a lot more features than the base Cobalt.
  10. Why does Flint always appear blind to what GM does have coming out besides trucks? Last I checked, going back a month or two and into the future about a year or so, GM has launched/will have launched: Aveo, Aura, 08 Malibu, 08 CTS, Cobalt MCE, Aura GL, hybrid Malibu, and I think the Astra is coming at the end of 07. Now, this might not seem like a lot of vehciles compared to how many GM has, but how many cars do other manufacturers have coming out? I don't think they have 8 coming out soon.
  11. Who cares what it looks like, I don't think all of them are going to look like that, and as bowtie dude said, the people who are driving them aren't going to care anyways. The important part here is that GM is moving forward in fuel cell technologies, and looks to have a leg up on most competitors.
  12. In the past couple weeks, the moderating team has noticed that some members who have chosen to ignore others have decided to post screen shots of the page that says "you have chosen to ignore _________." This is highly frowned upon, as it creates nothing but tension between members, and it is rather childish. We would like to issue a fair warning to everyone about this, so that everyone knows that posting something along these lines is unacceptable. Thank you, The Moderating Team.
  13. This would be interesting, but I don't see it happening. It's much easier to manage two huge companies than one titanic company. Also, GM wouldn't want to inherit more problems when they're finally starting to get things turned around, and Ford probably wouldn't want the problems that GM has left to fix. I could see them working on more stuff for powertrains though, such as the 6-speed automatic.
  14. I just noticed this, but the gap above the clock and vents and below the dash pad is huge.
  15. You could get the 6L in the Silverado 1500 for 2006 and 2007 "Classic" as the Vortec Max. It got re-rated under the SAE system at 362hp for the GMT900 models. I didn't think the Ram was too ugly until the 06 model came out, but it's always been over-the-top and overdone.
  16. From the filing: And this adds up to hundreds of billions how?
  17. I never really took note before, but the upkick in the windowline looks terrible on a truck.

What are those things right to the side of the seat? Are those air vents or something?
  19. You're the one that doesn't have the facts straight. It says in GM's annual report that there long term automotive debt is $15B. I don't see what's so hard to understand unless you're saying they're making up false numbers.
  20. The CD changer is located in a terrible spot. I don't think it looks different enough from the old one, and I also think the grill looks unfinished with the chrome only on the top and bottom but for some reason not on the side of the grill as well.
  21. Maybe you read an annual report, but didn't like the fact that it said long-term automotive debt is $15B, so made up some BS about it being "hundreds of billions." GMAC is in the hundreds of millions.
  22. It is the worker's fault if the trim doesn't line up from the dash to the door when it's supposed to. The Aura I sat in did not have that problem, so either the worker mis-assembled this particular Aura, or a last-minute change was made so that the trim would line up. Cost-cutting does not show on all the new products... the new products feel more expensive than the older ones that they replace. The Aura I sat in had none of these problems (granted it was at a dealership so I wasn't see what I could pry off). The GMT900s are top-notch in quality, and apparantly the Aveo is as well (from Ted's thread on it). Well, if the product is just as good as a Honda or Toyota for the same price, then I see no reason for a buyer to not choose the GM product unless they're bias.
  23. Vortec Max is the Vortec 6L with 362HP (I think that's the new rating, at least).
  24. They didn't cut 150,000 employees.... they only employee about 325,000, and they didn't cut half of them. And how do you know what their long term debt is? Do you have access to internal accounting documents? Hundreds of billions is not believable. Get some facts, then maybe I'll give you a slight bit of credit when you post.
  25. A silver Lotus Elise yesterday.
