  1. How is it the nicest? It has no power until you get to 6k rpm. That's nice for daily driving? At 3.5k rpm, you're making 160HP in the 3. 160HP doesn't come until after 6200rpm in the Si. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh since the Si is a 4cyl and I'm used to a dyno chart that looks something like this: I actually didn't realize the torque curve was that flat, but I do now.
  2. The Civic's dyno chart is hilarious. It doesn't get to more than 100HP before 4500rpm, and it's at less than 130HP at 5700rpm.
  3. Sorry to hear this, Camino. My best wishes are with you.
  4. What was different about the Solstice GXP? Was it the hardtop?
  5. Something just popped into my mind after re-reading the original post. If the Malibu stole the show and we know the CTS is going to be awesome, think how awesome the Malibu was! Since I don't have HS basketball this year, I can go to NAIAS. I think that will be item #1 on the Christmas list!
  6. Awesome news! Was the STS all new or just a MCE?
  7. Maybe she'd like the G6 more than the Aura? How is the Avalon too expensive and the TL not?
  8. What happens when the UAW contract is up in less than a year and the workers no long cost as much to pay? Then Delphi doesn't have to charge as much to make money...
  9. We have a chance of getting snow tomorrow. It's rediculous. On Saturday it was over 80, and we even had one day about a week ago over 90. Today it's 30-40s!
  10. Umm, this is like giving Cadillac a Cobalt with some different headlights. GM does not do this with many of their models, actually... The T900s are the only thing that Cadillac shares with any other brand, except for the Lucerne and DTS, and both the Escalade and DTS share no sheetmetal at all, just the platform, with their counterparts. Sure, Pontiac has a rebadged Cobalt, but Pontiac is not very much more upscale than Chevy, and the minivans are rebadges, but nothing else in GM's product lineup is a rebadge anymore. Solstice and Sky share nothing but mechanicals, W-Bodies share nothing but mechanicals, Epsilons share nothing but mechanicals, no Caddy except the Escalade line shares anything with any other product except for the engine, no Hummer shares anything other than the engine... the only thing similar are the Chevy/GMC T900s and the Colorado/Canyon. This is a rebadge no matter how you look at it. Ok, it got slightly different headlights. This makes it a luxury brand how? You were saying? I don't think anyone would have a problem with a small, Civic-based Acura sedan. Look at the RSX... no one would complain if there was a 4-door version. The problem is you pay royalty for some headlights.
  11. The interior without NAV looks like crap; the exterior is pretty good.
  12. Currently, I like what I have, and there's no way I'll be getting a new car before 2010, and probably not before 2011. So, who knows what will be out by then. I wouldn't mind a CTS-V Coupe though, but that's probably aiming a bit high I think that if I get an internship I'll probably save half of it, use a 1/4 of it for mods (probably headers, exhuast, CAI, maybe suspension), and save 1/4 for college spending. A NG GTO would be a possibility (if it happens), as would a Camaro, but I'm not sure I want a car that everyone and their brother are going buy. I think I'd like to stay with a coupe though.
  13. I can't tell much, but I do get a slight Toyota vibe from the styling on the side... but again it could just be the camo, so we'll see.
  14. The only thing even remotely similar is the side windowline. The Compass's front end is atrocious and it has those huge, ugly, square wheel flares that look like ass. The RAV4 doesn't look good, but it doesn't look bad either. It's just another vehicle, and it doesn't offend anyone (or at least not many).
  15. That seems about right considering an XLR-V is $100k.
  16. The Z06 of course! It won by 2.6 seconds, which is quite impressive, IMO. It carried more speed through all corners and more g's through all but one. http://www.leftlanenews.com/2006/10/11/cor...o-around-track/
  17. I didn't notice that before, but that is certainly true. Usually the displays are located close to the buttons.
  18. Wow, that's awesome. It idled different than what I remember the Z06 idleing like, but it sounded the same when you give it some gas.
  19. I can't find it on youtube, but didn't that one have all cars though and very few scenes without cars? If Chevy wanted to have the first half of the ad with the old trucks and the second with the 07, and then throw in American stuff every now and then, I'd be fine with it.
  20. I think the problem is that the 2007 has what, 3-4 seconds of air time? I'd like to see the 2007 get half of it, not half of it being any sort of older Chevy trucks + the 2007. If they wanted to show older Chevy trucks, they should have shown the old trucks for half of it doing American truck stuff and the 2007 doing truck stuff for the other half. The problem is not that it's a terrible ad. It's that the product that their spending money on the ad for is only being shown for 3-4 seconds of the ad. It's one of the ads where if we weren't car enthusiats and knew what it was for, how many people would think it was just some sort of patriotism ad and not realize that it was for the Silverado. It's like some ads where random stuff occurs, and then for 2 seconds the ad mentions what it's for, and you're left saying "what was that ad for?" If they're going to spend x amounts of dollars for 20 seconds of air time, I want at least 10 seconds of that on the truck that they're going to be selling and making money on, not trucks that they no longer sell. EDIT: Below is the commercial I saw on TV (full version), and it definetly has a majority of the time without trucks. In fact, I'm pretty sure the 20 second version has as many truck scenes and has some of the other stuff cut out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jlKJAXPfOI...related&search= So they're paying for 60 seconds of ad time, and IMO they're only getting 5 seconds out of it (time when you see the 2007), and even still there are only trucks in it for about 10 seconds.
  21. I don't think the ad will turn off buyers, but at the same time I don't like the ad. Why do they spend however long it is showing clips/pictures of "American history" or whatever you want to call it and then only 2 seconds of what they're trying to sell? How about 50/50 split if you want to emphasize that it's American?
  22. Wow, Hyundai is getting very serious about moving upscale. That interior reminds me of an Infiniti (not a copy, more of the style in general), and the exterior isn't too bad. It will be interesting to see how the public reacts to more expensive Hyundais. So far, the reaction hasn't been that good (see XG350, Azera).
  23. Wow, excellent news! How was the Work Truck interior?
  24. Such as the NG Highlander, which I'm sure is growing? I doubt it will be as big as the Outlook but it's possible I suppose.
  25. Haha, yes, as in "Cham-bana." What did you dislike so much about it? Oh, and street names? Green, Chalmers, Daniel, John, Gregory, Armory, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and Wright should help you remember
