  1. So I was driving through my Pontiac dealer today checking out the Red Tag pricing, and I noticed that the Solstice is marked down from $28,300 to $27,900 and I think to myself that it must be a GXP, though it looks like the normal one. So I do a double-take, and sure enough, it's a base Solstice, with every option (including automatic) for $28k and change! So I go to check the window stick to see if they marked it up to $28k, but that was the real price, and the new base price is $21,3xx! So whatever happened to under $20k? And also, does this mean that a loaded GXP costs over $30k? It's not that the price is really bad now, it's just that I'd like to see GM keep the pricing closer to where it was. Maybe they think they can get more for them, but I would have rather seen them price it a little higher in the beginning and then keep the price the same so that it doesn't seem like they're raising it so much. Thoughts?
  2. Wow, that looks terrible. There's not a good-looking aspect of it, at least in that pic.
  3. This is kind of lame, but good at the same time. GM should be able to determine what each car needs to be sold in its respective area, and apply incentives accordingly. It's good though because it doesn't look like they're whoring out on the incentives.
  4. You showed the back, he said the front. So now Toyota can use the excuse that the Tacoma gets respectable mileage to overlook the fact that the Tundra might get poor mileage? Riiiiight.
  5. I'm going with MICHIGAN.
  6. I think he's saying take that and add the updates and there's your DTS-L, though that's probably what most people were envisioning anyways.
  7. That's what I thought too, but why would they want to have the Firebird's image in a Solstice picture? Unless they're hinting at a new Firebird, I don't understand... They're probably just toying with us, and sitting there laughing as we try to guess the significance of something that has no significance at all. Back on the Solstice, my dealer is very dumb. They have one new Solstice, and two used ones. The used ones have a HIGHER price than the new one. They also had a GXP for all of 1 or 2 days sitting next to a used regular Solstice... and the GXP was cheaper! Personally, I think GM should make the GXP the standard Solstice, people will pay the premium, and it will help to move Pontiac a little upscale.
  8. How many people have photos of cars debuting 3-4 years from now? And of those people, how many could post them without losing their job?
  9. I see Camry in the front, Accord in the side, and a terrible c-pillar.
  10. Good news that GM is totally serious about becoming the best. BTW, what's with the bird shadow in that pic?
  11. Good to see the regular- and extended-cabs starting production, sales should start to pick up a lot beginning in December or January, I think.
  12. Thanks for posting. It sounds like the Silverado is at the top of the class in just about everything.
  13. Well if you can get most of it off then we used adhesive remover at the dealership to take off the sticky spots left by the door protectors.
  14. That's cool, even if it's not totally accurate.
  15. Yes, I think he did it. It was so easy for him seeing as how is home was a 4 minute drive from the murder scene.
  16. I have not seen any reports from a solid source about this, so I will wait until then to believe it, but it's certainly a possibility. The NG G6 probably wasn't too far along anyways considering it was a 2011MY vehicle.
  17. 1. The Cadillacs with the 3.6 can run on regular fuel, so I assume the Aura can. 2. I'm not sure exactly, but I haven't heard the best things about them.
  18. That's exactly what I thought. The Lambda minivans are 2010 models.
  19. Who says I'm (or the article, whatever you're referring to) blaming Toyota? It's simply showing the (unfair) competitive advantage that Toyota has because of the Japanese's government's manipulation of the Yen. I'd like to know where Toyota would be if it didn't have this competitive advantage. We're talking decades of inflated profit. What if GM, Ford, Chrysler, BMW, etc., had this same advantage? Where would they be? Where would Toyota and Honda be?
  20. Automotive News / November 13, 2006 How would you like to make $127,000 pure profit on every Camry, RAV4 or other Toyota you sold over your original forecast? Toyota raised its global sales forecast by 20,000 vehicles from its May prediction, to 8.47 million for the full fiscal year. It also jacked up its forecast for operating profits: to ¥2.20 trillion, or $18.66 billion, from $16.12 billion. Do the math. Nice margins if you can get them, eh? Higher volume isn't the whole story. It's barely a footnote. The weak yen is the real driver behind the higher profits forecast. Toyota now says each dollar it gets on U.S. sales will bring it ¥115 in revenues, not the ¥110 it previously expected. http://autonews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?...UB&refsect=1078
  21. Ok, then if you don't like my idea I guess I'll help you out on what you've decided. Do you have to have new? Just FYI, my dealer has an 06 with 500 miles on it for $19845. It has the moonroof, 6-disc and LSD, not sure what else. Did they make the LSD package standard or something? I don't see it on GMBuypower. The cheapest used on I found in the country on Autotrader is $16,895 with 12k miles. Your best bet for new is probably finding a dealer with a bunch of them and see if you can't get a good deal because they want to unload them. There is only $500 on '06s and $0 on '07s, so you should go for the '07 if the dealer will come down as much on them (which I doubt) if you go new.
  22. Yes, I agree. You just need to figure out how much more the SS SC is worth to you is basically what I'm saying. It would definitely be worth an extra $2-3k, but what if you could find a regular SS for $6k less?
  23. Seeing as how it's GM, I would guess Targa like the Vette, but Targa like a 911 would be awesome. I don't know to be honest, other than that there is one in the books.
