  1. Remember exprez Bush Jr fell over trying to ride one. It is a HOOT to see people attempt to ride one when they have no idea about balance. I remember that! Hilarious.
  2. well yes, pads, helmet, etc. but as far as safety's concerned, nothing protects you more on a bike than skill and keeping your head on a swivel to watch for other motorists.
  3. Interesting. I remember reading about him in the little racing editorials in car magazines when I was a kid.
  4. DEAR GOD WHYYYYY!?!
  5. congratulations!
  6. Wow. Just wow.
  7. but wait, there's more! As a joke, Hot Rod Magazine ran a story about the return of AMC, offering up a whole lineup of wonderfully done concepts. Alas, that lovely Javelin vert, Matador, Ambassador, AMX coupe and AMX/4 are painfully not real: There was also a Gremlin and a Pacer, but I'll spare you. Here's the story instead: http://www.hotrod.co...c_concept_cars/
  8. I love those first generation Javelins too. The second gens were alright, but they lost that charisma th early ones had. OBTW, found this. figured after I picked myself up off the ground, I'd post it. Holy Moley that's gorgeous. So simple and clean.
  9. I've seen a few idiots blasting down the freeway as fast at their bikes will take them--and this is at night when there's much less traffic, but still a lot. They split lanes, weave in and out of traffic, pop wheelies, and generally drive far fatster than the speed limit. Granted we all do, but if the flow of traffic is like 10-20mph over--so around 80-90mph!--and you're blasting past us like we're standing still, then you're going too damn fast. And only every once in a while, do i see any of these idiots wearing gear. I really hope they get pulled over for doing that. I really do. Given the alternative, it's better they lose their license than their life. I'd like a bike just for fun, and maybe just because they're good on gas. but i want to learn how to ride it properly first.
  10. American Motors! Eff Yeah!
  11. you really wanna see some crazy old drunk?
  12. WHY do people do that? WHY?!
  13. I dunno, drags, though? maybe they should enter that into SCCA. It sounds like something I might want to lap.
  14. LOL good luck getting the announcers to get that past censors.
  15. '97 and both. the mods were never a problem, because mechanically it's basically just an SS clone with a little extra, and up until a few years ago it could still pass a smog test. but even after new cats, it won't make it. I have no idea what's wrong with it; it wasn't burning oil, the check engine light wasn't on. I think it just needs an engine overhaul, or maybe a new one altogether, but I can't really afford either. I'd like an LS-series engine but they don't fit those years.
  16. The thing is already going faster than the top speed of the fastest road going vehicle in just 3 seconds. and then almost a second later it's travelled 1000feet!! Good Lord.
  17. Lemme get this straight: The terms of the agreement have changed after a contract was signed and the agreement was locked in? Because [/i]the value of the vehicle had risen?![/i] Don't cars have to depreciate first before they appreciate? That is BS. And price gouging. Is this dealership run by Mafisti or something?
  18. I haven't been on a real track in years. I think I need to do something like that. I'd like something faster than my Slobalt though, and the Camaro isn't emissions-roadworthy anymore (and I reeeeally don't want to sell it). I'd like to convert it into a race car, but money. Maybe rent a sporty something or other. I actually have a friend on another forum who goes to trackdays at Mid-O rather often, and that track looks like a lot of fun.
  19. Given the lack of snow and humidity, I figure that California (and the SW USA in general) should have no issues with rust or oxidation on cars at all. It's the sun....paint oxidation is a big issue here in AZ. And clearcoat peeling. bingo. The clearcoat has started to peel away on the C-pillar of my Cobalt, right where it meets the roof. no rust anywhere though, but I wash it regularly. however, in SoCal, I figured since there's a big ocean next to us we'd have some rust problems with all the moisture in the air. But I never hear anyone else complain about rust either.
  20. no I don't think it was that, i think it was more that he was fried out of his mind. Luckily, I speak Dumbass.
