anybody else see Z4 in it?

yes, but be sure that you get the paint that's made for spraying models. I learned the hard way that if you use real automotive paint, it warps the plastic, and you get a rather wrinkly finish. after you've applied all the decals and such, it's also a great idea to apply a clearcoat before you put the body on the chassis. the clearcoat may take a lot longer to sit without actually getting your fingerprints cast into the finish when you touch it however; even after it dries it still stays soft for a long time.. I usually wait two days, but this is why I have two different models going at once, whenever I build them. you could however put it under a desklamp to accelerate the clearcoat's solidification after it's semi-dried, but it'll still give off some really wicked fumes, and I only reccomend that for stoners.

Sketch Competition #14 - Next-Generation Cobalt
Turbojett replied to Flybrian's topic in Sketch Competitions
MUahahahahaaaaaaa... -
As for the Skylines, I must say I liked the first proto, but these new concepts (what the R35 will actually look like) are SEXY. Oh Baby!
-
oh HELL NO. That better not be an actual CHP car. Man, the CHP used to be cool until now.

My parents had a '79 Corona for a few months. It sucked in every way you can possibly imagine. The hedgasket blew repeatedly (even after regular oil changes) the hoses were constantly coming loose. The interior was falling apart the rear seatbelts didn't quite work the way they were supposed to (Aren't they supposed to PREVENT you from being flung forward in an accident?! Is THAT what they mean by "Moving Forward"?) It developed a hole in the radiator, but the thing that really turned it into scrap metal was when it dropped it's driveshaft on the 101 from the transmission side and completely ripped up the underside of the car. Replacing the entire transmission, chassis pan area, and surrounding damaged parts would have cost more than the piece of crap was worth, so it was totaled.

I say that maybe she and her son were both done in. I didn't really like her all that much, but I never like hearing about anyone dying. Especially since she's just orphaned a new baby.

teh G8 is a Bereta wit a driveshaft! It'll sux. I know, because Chevy can't make cars. Fords r quality! U kno I'm rite! I love the way he shorthanded words in his argument. that makes him look soooo much more like the captain of the debate team.

New Dodge Roadster Concept??
Turbojett replied to BrewSwillis's topic in Geneva International Motor Show
there wouldn't happen to be a wallpaper-sized version of that pic, would there? At any rate, that thing looks hideous. I wish they'd have produced the Copperhead concept from the 90's. now that was a looker. Maybe what they should do is update the design of THAT and produce it. -
I like quite a few Japanese sports cars myself. But Sly, I got one that's even closer to your '84 Maxie...same brand in fact...that has an I6, stick shift, and Rear (biased) wheel drive. Probably my favorite piece of Jap ever: the Skyline GTR R34's are my favorite...but I wouldn't kick any previous generation out of bed, either. R33's--particularly sexy. R32's--not without their own charm as well. and the not-oft-seen R31..however they didn't have a GTR variant per se, the top-line model was the GTS-R I'm not even sure of the performance variant of the R30's... ..But you can't help but love the Originals '71 model FTW If you wanna say F the front drive altogether, there's always the rear-drive GT-t: however that comes at a cost of one less turbo than the GTR... Ah but Skylines...real Japanese Musclecars. I've always lusted after those beauties. It irks me that we never got them, until they decided to send over a few Nismo R34 Z-tune models over, but even then they were unbearably expensive, and I didn't like the body kit Canada's lucky though. After a certain time period, you can actually have them imported and street-legalized. (only R32's are eligible, R33's have another year to go IIRC)

motion seconded.

How did you get rid of them then? all the rear windows are in one piece. and the model kit is even worse--they give you the side windows and the door windows together in one part for all-around glass, but each set of side windows is seperate, so you have the option of totally leaving them out, if you so desire, which is what I'm going to end up doing. I've done the heated x-acto knife thing on a few of my hotwheels. you think knicking yourself with the knife is bad enough, try it when it's still hot. Not only do you have a big, gaping wond, but you've burnt it as well. messy.

I'm a product Of my environment Don't blame me, I just work here, but I wanna F*** YOU!

I got the Camaros. Both colors. As well as the 599, The Charger, and a DB9. I also previously had the Challenger in Go ManGo, but I have gotten the SubLime one as well.
-
I'm totally ditching the side windows on it. May use them to mask off the interior when I spray the clearcoat on it. You?

I have both the un-blinged Jada 1:18th scale Camaro (in that color) and the plastic model kit. I haven't started on it yet though, but I'll tell you right now--Black, Red center stripe. The C6's I have: 1:18th scale models of a blue LS2 coupe, a black convertible, and a yellow Z06, all made by Hot wheels, and all bought at Target (Except for the Z, which was bought online at www.exoticar.com ) I have plastic models of every C6 (coupe, convertible, Z06, C6.R), all made by Revel, although the vert was a snap together (bleh), all bought at WalMart. I have 1:18ths of every production model of C5 made (coupe and convertible, Bburago, bought at now-defunct Kay-Bee in Costa Mesa; LS1 hardtop, Hot Wheels, bought at a Target in Santa Ana; Z06, Maisto, bought at a Walmart somewhere in upper-Orange County, have no clue where I was). I had plastic models of the C5 coupe and convertible, a long, long time ago (think 1998) but they're all since long gone. Died in the great El Nino flood. I had a '70 Z28, a replica of the one in Fast Times at Ridgemont High (or was it Dazed and Confused? I dun remember. All these damn stoner movies all blur together). I planned to put stripes on it, but then it fell off the shelf during a small tremor, and ended up getting crushed behind my dresser (don't ask how, it just did.) And if enyone EVER finds a model, die-cast or plastic, of ANY Cobalt coupe, they are under strict orders to notify me immediately. I haven't been able to find one thus far. I did find a 1:24th of a '74 Vega though

I always put my parking brake all the way up, and I park on an incline. Cobie's never rolled out of my driveway, so i've never had any, or even heard any problems.* I have had a problem however with pulling the barking brake up too far however, where the button just sticks inside the lever. But you hit it a few times, the button pops back out, and you're good to go. I guess I'm too overzealous. Edit: *I do however leave it in gear as well (1st), so that's probably why...

i had just noticed that his posting frequency had decreased rather sharply, and when he did post it usually started an argument. Sorry to hear that you're leaving, FOG. I always hate to see these posts, no matter who it is. I don't think I have or ever said "good riddance" to anybody, except maye the occasional troll.

well, I gotta give him that one. A lot of the lowriders I see look pretty retarded--'course most of the ones I see are $h!ty-looking early-90's boats with peeling paint and rust breakouts on big 22" bling-bling wheels.

I Hope you're kidding. How could you not love this thing? Who cares if Lambo is owned by VW, who cares if the doors opened wrong, and who really gives a $h! if it looks like a miniature Murci?! (Hello, it's supposed to).Not a true Lamborghini my ass. As long as it's designed, engineered and built in Sant' Agata Bolognese (which it IS), it is a TRUE Lamborghini, no matter who owns the company. Let me let you in on what's really important: Engine:V10 Displacement:4961 cc Horsepower:520 bhp @ 8000 rpm Torque:376 lb-ft @ 4500 rpm Max RPM:8000 rpm Transmission:6-Speed Manual 0-60 mph:4.0 sec 0-100 mph:9.1 sec ¼ mile:12.3 sec @ 117 mph Top Speed:192 mph Lateral acceleration:.95g Braking 60-0 mph:110 ft nevermind that its absolutely gorgeous. And nevermind that if you ever got to even ride in one around a racetrack, you'd be too busy with that huge grin on your face to even say what you just did.

That Cord was a beautiful car, and I'm not even into prewar cars. The only other prewar car I've ever said that about was the '36 Auburn 851 Boattail Speedster.

Unofficial, AAA Top Ten Most Unreliable Cars
Turbojett replied to Delta Force79's topic in The Lounge
I knew a guy who was driving his ZX3 down the freeway when his lights started to flicker on and off, and then suddenly, the car just spontaneously shut off on him. -
