  1. Love the final year Avalanche! There is a green one calling my name at the local Chevy store...
  2. Interesting stuff, both on the injection and CNG fronts. I really want to build a CNG car.
  3. First one is gorgeous!
  4. ...but this is a sweet truck. http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/3719228170.html
  5. Ah, man! So close, and yet so far. The truck is all that I was looking for, with a rust-free body, low-miles, and simplicity. But, the entire front suspension and the front areas of the frame and crossmember are a nightmare of heavy, flaking rust. The thing is so good in so many ways, but that rust of the structure would be a nightmare to correct. No deal.
  6. I take it back. The guy called me tonight - Boy! does he like to talk! I should get a chance to see it at least.
  7. Seems to be another in the long line of unresponsive CL sellers. I tried to call about another truck - the listed phone is disconnected. Another one - no response to email. I don't get it.
  8. Have a great day, Walt! I'm still grateful that you created this place.
  9. One thing is for sure: people in this society are easily led. If a manufacturer leads them to wagons, they will follow - it's what they do.
  10. Yep, a detail I could easily live with (and quickly remedy). I'm all for that solution!
  11. Low miles, one-owner, with snowplow - not really high in the face of that.
  12. Oh it fits the bill, it's just a year late.
  13. Too bad it's too late now. I'd still love to have this, and am tempted to go look anyway. http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/3731769761.html
  14. The label was in the glovebox in '79 - but the adhesive tends to give up after a while so it could be lost. '79s also tend to be rust barges - be careful.
  15. Automatic, FWD, 4cyl. sedans and CUVs = my version of hell.
  16. Yeah, but CUVs still suck - they are nothing but tall minivans.
  17. I don't care why, I'm just glad that Europe creates a continuing market for wagons - at least that gives us a shot at getting one now and then. I despise all CUVs, but would gladly take a wagon with an AWD option in their place (if I had no 4x4 truck or SUV at the time). Bring on the wagons!
  18. Like the truck.
  19. I could make that work.
  20. Hopefully, it will be good enough to like it automatically.
  21. I have to give this great design a bump just on general principles.
  22. It grew on me...at first I didn't like it because the tail is so high and the deck so short, but now I love the design... I thought it might grow on me too ( I really wanted to like it). It didn't. The more I saw it in person, the less I liked it. It looks like it was designed by someone who knew hatchbacks, but had never seen a coupe.
