  1. mine Camaro double build Challenger build F3R bag (like the arctical says, we arent ready for a car like that) Roadjet Double build for the Volvo Imperial Double duild (they should have made this instead of the 300, but will have a bit of overlaping products if they have both the 300 and this) Rapide whatever.... looks like every other AM... they need something different
  2. Used Saab 9-5 / 9-5 Aero Wagon... if I were to stray from Saab, I'd love the new HHR LT and eventualy retrofit the new Solstice GXP's Turbo hardware or entire powertrain if it differs extensively...... However, the luxury and ride aspect is no comparison between the 2...... I also like the Volvo v-50 wagon..... I dont know if I could afford even a used one though as they are quite new
  3. Daves87RS up there said that the bottom line is the only thing that matters.... well this is what I see the bottom line being: They bought out a manufacturer of cars (Saab) and didn't have the right ammount of cash to infuse into it to keep the brand going in a positive motion Recently, they were loosing money with olds..... now a variety of their segments are starting to loose money...... So what does this say? We could see what GM was getting in to when 2 brands were not making it on top..... (due to lack of good product by proper budgets) and now the rest is starting to go on a downwards slide as well........ regardless of if it's Saab (a brand that most of you probably don't see or value) or Oldsmobile.. . the fact is that it's not ONLY happening to Saab anymore. The lack of good decisions with Saab is now showing through other divisions as well. It is no longer a Saab only problem but rather a GM problem. Bash saab all you want, say that they are sub-par, uncompetitive, underpowered, understyled, no high volume seller... whatever. But when GM cuts its ties with Saab and Saab has no buyers to keep making Saab cars, GM will keep sailing its Complacent boat of ignorant bull-Sh*t i the no-good decision making direction and eventualy sink if it doesnt change the way it does its buisness. Like others have said, 300 million is peanuts compared to the 4 billon overall..... When the dust setles, I'll be driving my last production model 9-3 SS turbo, getting 40 MPG with plenty of acceleration, beating most in my class on top end acceleration and warming my but in dark pewter leather seats with seat warmers on, while enjoying the money still sitting in my bank account from the savings I have over buying an infiniti or BMW.....probably looking at a 1000$ ECU upgrade to add an easy 30-40 bhp and a healthy increase in torque.... my 2 cents... Edit: oh, and the reason why we are all noticing biased oppinions against GM in recent car reviews and those sarcastic, un-deserved comments about the camaro concept by outside magazines and others is because people are afraid of the unknown and tend to get spooked by a product or manufacturer when they get a sense of insecurity around them....... It's only showed up in recent years (consistent with GM's downfalls) with GM bashing in reviews and we all know its unfair..... Us saab fans have felt the same way about Saab reviews and comparisons for years before it started happening with GM...... we are all in the same boat of suffering. I know you guys's pain, can't you recognize the similarity with the pain Saab and Saab fans have been enduring since the early 90's? Like I said above, Saab may very well be on its way to be put on the choping block and out all together... but the rest of GM seems to be flowing in the same direction as Saab is regardless of if they take Saab out of the game....
  4. I may have said higer quality but all in all, its better octane rating. A higher octane will run more eficiently and like the arcticle said, an engine has to retard timing based on knock and ping. They arent very easy to hear so your engine knocks and pings relatively regularly. Your engine retarts regularly. when you retard ignition, you get poor gas mileage and poor performance. All I'm saying is that with premium fuels, the combustion process is more eficient and get better mileage out of it.
  5. I was pissed off one night because of some chick and I took a downhill traintrack hump at 80 km/h (people usualy slow down to like 40 km/h to go over them) in my '99 Alero......... I got airborn and landed fine but the 2.4L engine misfired all the way home... next day, discovered one of the spark plugs had shatered in pieces (all outside of the plug hole... fiew) and the fuel presure regulator was shot.
  6. I've noticet better fuel economy when I use premium fuel..... (when my '89 was operational) for example: with the 900 turbo, a full tank of regular would get me roughly 420 km's in one tank. with the same car but filling up with Sunoco ultra 94, I would get roughly 500 km's out of my tank...... I have noticed this in a fiew other cars as well........ the better quality your fuel is the better your engine runs .... better fuel mileage!!

  10. has anyone ever noticed that the dash on the 300, magnum and charger are pretymuch the same dash? I was shopping around and looking at prices between a Charger and a Magnum and went home confused and undecisive because the interior on them look identical! (same choice of engines, same frame, same options...different sheet metal)
  11. 1. Coffee 2. Coffee 3. Water 4. Rum and coke (last night) 5. Heineken (last night)
  12. Happy birthday!!
  13. Ever go on a vacation out of the country and end up at a semi-nude beach? (dominican republic is one of those places) and take pictures of you and your family just enjoying your vacation and when you get home and devellope the pictures, you realize you've got an abundance of TITS in the background (old and new, saggggy and firm), along with some old farts in their speedos? That creepy
  14. I wouldnt mind meeting some of the canadian members...... [not to say I dont want to meet the rest of ya, just thinking of what is actualy possible...]
  15. Went to Canadore college in North Bay Ontario and studied for 2 years in Aircraft Avionics Maintenance. We all know how shot the aviation industry has been since 9-11 and employers will hire the licensed, experienced guys that have been layed off before a College graduate looking for an aprenticeship..... basicaly didnt get a job in my field of study. Wiche led me to..... I found my way to a call center for Canada's leading satelite tv provider. I will be bailing soon as I am studying for my Insurance license and will be writing my exam on monday. I then will be moving to Ottawa to work in my dad's office selling insurance and possibly eventualy take on my dad's buisness. Who knows what the future REALY holds!
  16. The ol' 2 stroke saab engines were not diesel.....
  17. Shure you can! however, good luck going anywhere over 30 MP/H if you dont have any turbo or anything on there..... I think they were rated at something like 40-65 HP depending on the model an year!
  18. you can put any engine in any car if you realy... realy wanted to!
  19. Never realy got to know him or his post but either way, may he RIP and be taken care of on the other side
  20. I can find you pics of an old Saab 900 2 dor sedan in black with a mustnag 5.0L v-8 with plenty of "Edelbrock" upgrades under the hood.......... say... SLEEPER! And ther's this other guy who decided not only to put the 5.oL mustnag engine in the c-900 but also the interior dash/seats/carpets... everything...
  21. Agreed.
  22. you have boyish good looks
  23. You are bang on! And Ven, I know that the OG 9-3 and 900 as well as the 9-5 came from the Vectra platform. This is one contributing reason why Saab may not have been as succesful as GM wanted it to be in the past. What if I gave you the Chevy cavalier's platform to work with for a "Premium" car? You'd have to invest quite a bit into making it better handling and who knows if you'd even be up to par with competition. GM should have thrown it a new platform or at least a better one that did not need a considerable amount of modification. Also, in the post that I am quoting, it is nice to know that GM had the intention of keeping Saab an independant brand and GM probably had the right intentions but if you come and think of it, Saab wanted to sell and partner up with a big company because they saw their future not evolve as fast as other brands... and naybe a fiew other reasons but the point is that GM didn't do with Saab what it should have to keep it profitable wich would have been to incorporate it with it's GM europe like recently. And again, they are now breaking even.
  24. He's not necesarely "not accepting that Saab is losing money" we have all realized that a loooong time ago that Saab isnt realy a money maker for GM but you can't take a beaten horse and expect great results from it. Look at Oldsmobile. It got a WOPING 3 new models wich 2 were rebadges in it's last 6 years of operation! With Saab, this year is the first year of profit. How the f@#k did they get out of the gutter with a 7 year old, continuously refreshed 9-5? So lets get it straight here: Saab was un profitable for it's 15 years with GM as GM invests tiny amounts of cash into it and refreshing the lineup with new models. All of a sudden, they decide to start managing Saab properly and give it a bit more advertising as well as a fine tuned 9-3 lineup and yet another refresh of the 9-5 but that's all Saab needed to come out on top!
  25. I hope to go but it may be right in the midle of my move to Ottawa...... Is it the same place as last year downtown???? I hate how you have to bounce between 3 buildings in a tangle of mazes..... If I dont get to go to the Toronto Autoshow, I will probably go to Ottawa's but they get like 1/2 the ammount of cars than Toronto...
