Crager styled wheels look good on older cars - yes European cars look best with BBS type of wheel - yes Japanese cars look their place with we little Teddy bear wheels -yes! it should be mandatory that all cars belonging to Asian nameplates wear Teddy bears, this will make them easier to identify and herd up....baaaa !

Well its not the first worthless Hemi in the world :) Seriously that kinda cool but one very expensive BBQ......on account of all the aluminum diamond plate and all.

The break business was about 2 minutes, 10 minute break is common everywhere, what was GM hoping to get out of that extre 6 minutes a day? That was thrown out right away for obvious reasons, hell 10 minute breaks are labor law in NY State. So now you figure workers are not entitled to raises ? Even minimal ones ? Well youve spent so much time breakin, paying bills and the whole life thing so you would know, right ? Maybe GM could get some developement money if they cut raises to the exec's and various other arm chair jobs but they probably only get increases to the tune of $2-4000 per year on up to $1-200,000 ? I mean I dont really know, you tell me ? Wonder how much future developement money was lost to the Fiat fiasco ? Those go dang Union workers !

WTF are you talking about and did you just call me a "Liars always figure!" I really really dont know what you are talking about. Kinda sounds like you are talking about the same thing I was talking about but its hard to tell because of the pointlessness of your post. None of the 38 engines were the same either, but that both was and was'nt the point of my post. Further where did I say the 350's were all the same ? Im pretty sure I made it very evident I was talking about refinement levels and where the various engines stood in power per cube at those points of developement. If you can read what I wrote without drawing assumptions you will note that I was only stateing that with further refinement much like the V8 engines have recieved in recent years the performance of the Buick based PR V6 engine should have increased to levels I have shown in my "liar figureing". Was there something wrong with this ? Did I step into some territory I was not supposed to tread on ? In 1957hp was a gross rateing, then for 1957 Corvette we had a Gross and wasnt the days of simply adding lots of gas and air feeding carburators, more compression, cam grinds, and no pollution and no economy concerns nice. Engines were restricted by emissions and ecomomy requirements since early 70's and have been in a steady state or refinement since while at the same time meeting stricter requirements. So you are right " your comparison doesn't hold water!" Neither does your post have any relevence on what my post was about. Thanks for the input however. Now do you have some input as to why the 38 PR V6 couldnt be refined to the levels of the V8 ? That would place some water deeper into the well.

Well I guess no one here thought much about Joe Mannix or the customized 67 George Barris Toronado roadster that looked remarkably like a 1970 Toro so I figured what the heck, heres another cool Toronado It answers some of the questions we had on the last topic I posted about this car.

This whole thing was about jobs. It had nothing to do with greed. and investment Same deal with the 1996 strike Geeze !!!!! Heres a real big raise, how greedy  Wow, thats like a whole 18 dollars a week GROSS, not through the door. Wow, thats like a whole $936 GROSS a year, like wow, where will they ever spend it. Wonder if it will cover this years heating bill increase, propane or natural gas increase with any left over for the gasoline increase. Im sure the insurance companys and schools wont tap into that huge 936 buckarunies any  2nd and third year is only $12 GROSS a week, $624 GROSS per year, Wow thats alot of money  How greedy !

Those go dang Union workers anyhow. :CG_all:

Thats good sounds like they got the investment and commitment from GM that they were looking for. Thats what it all about. Bravo to both parties ! :) Now this says nothing about what was done to lower operating cost ?

wishfully the extreme wealth throught our country worked for what they get. yarite! 10 25 & 10 is unusual ? Most places get 30 for lunch, most likely the UAW's are paid straight through, anyhow I never heard of a 8 minute coffee break. So how much of the day does the clown spend standing around shootin shit, goofin off. You sound like a real hard worker, I can see the sweat beads on the old forehead even through this computer screen. You sound like someone that really knows all about hard work  This is so funny and proves your cluelessness. Companys have gone outside US for real real real cheap labor, in order to compete with 3rd world countries that our government allows to do business in our country while their standards are no where near what ours are nor did they contribute anything to the peace and welfare of the world such as our Great Industrialized country has done  Companys also go outside of this country to do industrial work to be rid of the environmental and tax issues involved with doing business in this country. So Mr Global suppose you tell me why isnt the environmental issues Global ??????? Perhaps taxation should be global and paid to our government for holding the hands of all these looser countrys. While the Unions needs to do alot of straightening up. Attitudes like your are no more of the answer to the problems in this country than the Unions. Non Union labor has been in reverse for nearly a decade now while the insurance companies, schools, real estate, health providers, utilities and oil corporations have seen double digit increases. Makes no sense bitching about the person standing at the bottom of the hill after the rock hits them rather than climbing up and getting after the person that gave it the shove.

Well this is really a big mess, because Chrysler and Ford agreed, probably or at least partially in an effort to cause more distress at GM. Some communcations there would have gone a long ways. I hope this does not happen, its completely BS, the auto workers have a great job. I wish I could get cost of living plus a percent, forget it, we are in reverse for over 7 years compared to cost of living let alone any knid of advancement. Finally - Clown - Ive been reading your anti N.American workforce bullshit for a few days now. Why dont you GTF out of N. America, in fact Id be more than willing to help - free of charge. Attitudes like your are no more, in fact less productive to the answer to the N.American economic and labor problems.......TRUE!

I asked this question just to see where the 231 Series II (3.8) V6 stood in "refinement" to the V8's of the day. I do realize that the SII was new in 96 and these V8's had been around awhile. I was courious as to the therory that more refinement as is now in the new LS engines applied to the 3.8/231 could bring the power of the 231 up rather than the downslide we currently see it undergoing. In all fairness I add figures for the 90-94 L27 3.8. Specs on 3800 231 ci V6 are L27 '90-94 170hp - 225lb ft L36 '95-0? 205hp - 230lp ft data per cubic inch 231ci series "1"achieved .73hp per cubic inch - .97lbft torque per ci. 231ci Series II achieved .88hp per cubic inch - .99lbft torque per ci. 350ci LT1........achieved .74 hp per cubic inch - .94lpft torque per ci. 263ci 4.3 V8....achieved .76 hp per cubic inch - .91lbft torque per ci. so to not reach to far I have takin the specs from a 01 Corvette 350 which I believe is the LS1 rather then the 400hp LS2. LS1 350ci - 350hp @ 1.0hp per ci. - 370lbft torque @ 1.07lbft per ci. In therory this would imply the current 231's or 3800's should be at 231hp @ 1.0hp per cube and 247lbft @ 1.07lbft per cube I just find it rather interesting ^_^

I agree, but why is MCDonalds coffee so hot ? As for the breaking into the house and falling, that is why we have concrete and a vast assortment of rivers and lakes in the US, also valuable resources for curing ignorant Judges/lawmakers as well as scum bag lawyers.

Yes, they need much better education and it needs to be much harder to get a licence, the test should be 2 hours long and cost $500 [about the same as year on cell phone] The minimum score should be 90%. The test should include rush hours traffic driving, merging, using proper lanes for proper uses, proper squareing of corners, proper following distance, excellent skills of awareness and use of eyes, backing and parking with mandatory proof of knowledge for use of side mirrors and looking over shoulder. Im sure licenced driveing instructor could add much to the driving skill test. Then finally they should have their cell phones takin away from them or perhaps never have gotten them in the first place. How spoiled. The phone laws need to apply across the board as they do here in NY State.

Just because it not essential, just like all of the choises here are not essential. Suspension is esscential. power to weight has relevance. My self Id like my performance car to be roofless. Id like my performance car to be sexy. You can have a V8 4 speed RWD heavily sprung pickup truck too. Is that a performance car ?

So the question is - Was George Barris responsible for the styling of the 1970 Toronado ? This custom was built in 1967, yet the front looks remarkably like a 1970 http://www.jmannix.net/roadster.htm

Lawsuits were nothing at all in the 60's and earlier 70's compared to how it took off in the 80's and 90's. Its become the big thing to sue over everything and anything. I believe we have to much "freedom" today. Back when the constitution was writtin those forefathers never would have thought those rights or freedoms would be turned into a defence for being a completely inconsiderate, attention seeking, moron. Todays behavior was unthinkable 230 years ago and its deterioration in the past 30 has been unreal, yet our very constitution defends extreme moronism. However at the same time our bleeding heart, liberal, politically correct, manicured, gumbys have writtin enough laws to place the burdon of changing the entire natural instincts of protection and toleration on a few generations. One of which is mine at least.

These are racing wheels Im stuck on the old Cragars, so torque thrusts fit into this style, I always like Keystones which are much in line with the Rally Wheels of the times. I liked most of the Buick & Oldsmobile machine faced wheels from the 80's as well as the 84 Corvettes. Alot of the variations of 5 spokes that came after just didnt do it for me. The very spindley 5 spokes look great but I just have a hard time believing in them having any strenght if pushed to high lateral G and put to any interference there are so many choices its hard to find something that is just right. Theres always something special about chrome spokes and knockoffs but who can afford them

My memory - Frankie Sparkels was Coptown ?
