First, I mean really, saying since when and Walmart in the same sentence ? Whats Walmart in mass 15 years ? Most of the manufacturing and construction sectors were always middle class. Along with the teachers and Police and local govenment peoples, ect. many Americans worked and lived at that level. In many cases on one income. It was a much more humble middle class at least as far as real estate and what somebody considered a good house and a good car and volumn of toys, but everybody was livin and thats what counts. We had General Electric and American Locomotive Co. in my basic area as well as some auto industry jobs. Ford had one plant, I forget what was made there. An arsonal, Knolls Nuclear but they are still strong. Albanys a capitol so I see lots of State employees in this area too.

Im in favor of huge tarrifs on all Asain built cars, even if they are owned by GM or Ford, also any American manufactured cars by Asain held companies. 2-3 grand per vehical, no wait, how about 20%. Fuel injection has constant pressure, that makes it far easier than something that needs to push a valve open and release it 50 times a second. I love Canadians ! They are our brothers! I made more income in 3 years selling product to Canadians than I did in 10 years prior getting screwed by my own. Supercharged DOHC engines were winning races for Alfa Romeo in the 30's. Most of the European companies have always been overhead, its just a handful of people that think its some new tang. valve opening solenoids (yea yea yea I cnat spell) I invented them 20 years ago. BFD ! LOL :-) It will be a real nightmare, theres already so many electronic problems on cars now its insane. Its the biggest thing in shops anymore "hmm I wonder whats making it do that ?" Only good thing about this is when it fails we'll be bending valves and cracking pistons. Great job security for the industry. Something that worked off a rotary much like an old distributor would work but then theres problems with that too. Still it would not bend valves upon failure, they simply wouldnt open. Now a computor and 4-5 sensors haveing a bad day, well thats another story. I agree with guy #2, 20% just doesnt sound realistic, camshafts dont rob that much power. Iknow guys that have removed their balance shafts, for a net gain of about .5 HP. Woo hoo ! The early ABS unit just was not good, I would have no part of it. All cars that used in suffered: TGP, any H or C bodies that optd for it, Riv,Toro, Caddys. As said it was heavy, 300 lb heavier than a H body coupe that could seat 6, I have yet to hear anybody determine where this weight comes from, seems it must be in the unibody and structure. Convertables seem to be priced high Who cares if woos ies can't operate a top, not an issue here.
