Unforgettable - AWSOME, I love the old standards and Nat was excellent I was just recently thinking I believe the name of it is "Could not ask for more" Sarah Evans, would be a good song for me and mine but it was also very popular when we had a major hurdle in our lives. So its significant I guess you could say. I bet thousands of country couples have already used it. So then I guess Id have to vote for "Get it on, bang a gong, get it on"............................ "Love of a Lifetime" by Firehouse was perty

Here in Albany we have one building that was designed somehow that it appears from certain angles in the skyline to be the Twin Towers, not sure if this was on purpose or not. Anyhow is seems impossible to look at them now and not replay that footage we all saw on TV. I am not the only person that has felt or said that either. Its a damn shame. Albany is a small skyline but beautiful looking from the east side of the Hudson on I90.

It would still be more appealing than most of the trash on the highway today in my eyes. I would however have made changed body lines. Cuda was better anyhow.

I still havent drivin an Ecotec but I did have the 2400 Alero loaner, I was impressed. Oldsmoboi - I believe the 3900 with the variable intake and VVT does just what your talking about by simply pressing the gas pedal. I also know for a fact that the SC 38 (L67) does exactly what your talking about. Its as tame as a pony for Grandpa driving and spirted as a Stallion when you put her down. Which brings me to supercharging. Cmattson = I though supercharging was much more fuel conscience when no demand was placed on the engine and then it just keeps giving and giving as RPMs increase. I have been led to believe turbo charging is not fuel conscience for typical driving, am I wrong? This 260/260 turbo DI Ecotec engine for the Solstice is awful impressive at least from reading about it. But thats from a performance aspect, not sure about milage. Use this tec and apply it to a 1.5 for compact commutor cars and you might have something Ive seen this TDI Audi R10 race car in action (on TV screen) and its quite impressive. Set record laps at LeMan. Its so quite you can hardly hear it and it doesnt smoke. Unfortuanantly the R10 was not at Limerock when I went but it will be next year, then I can get a better look, listen, smell. We loved our VW diesel from a mileage standpoint but thats about it. It vibrated, rattled and smelled a bit. Those days are over, diesels have come a long ways. The US government needs to give them a chance to get a foothold Once again I will say we need to get the weight back out of these fat pigs if we really want to commit to performance and fuel mileage in the same breath. VW Rabbit as I recall was 1800 or 1900 some odd pounds. Seems we could find a happy compromise. High belt lines and "raised ride height" plus "screw areodynamics" is certainly not the answer. It all takes time and trends sometimes do our thinking for us, not our brain

Paulie - was the baby in the back looking at you in the rearview when it began cryin............................. Seriously we were lucky in that department, now shes a teenage and making up for lost time.............not really I realy dont see the tire monitoring thing, I havent had a flat in over 10 years and I cant think of how many miles that is. The flat I had was a piece of shale in my truck tire and it was imeadiate. I rarely need to add air, I guess I check about twice a year. I really do believe this kind of stuff is gimmicky and TV screens have no place in automobiles. I would be more interested in a phone jack that goes into the sound system and is totally hands free except for a button to answer and hangup. This would take care of an already started bad driving habit. Then making TV screens illegal would bite the next one in the bud. Yea Im a prick but I take driving and the road seriously, it seems insurance companies do to but yet this stuff and blinding headlights somehow made it to market. I have the self leveling in the 90 Regency and the 97 LSS and so did the 86 Riviera for that matter, I almost forgot the 89 NewYorker did too but it went south and was bypassed for standard struts. I believe the Regency is headed there now too. Dont use the word Maxima in the same paragraph with Oldsmobiles and Buicks and Pontiacs...................., another law that needs to go in effect............. Just not in the same league, none of our Americna built luxury cars did the tail drag even without the air. I guess its nice but the price per strut is painful and in the North we have problems with the rest of the system surviving the salt. LSS is still working at 123,000 miles and 9 years so I guess thats not too bad. the Regency was still working at 320,000 or so but I think its gave it up and I put FE3 springs in it anyhow so it pretty much became ineffective after that. auxilary air hook up - I put that in my big trucks that have air brakes, no not a gimmick a usefull tool for industrial purposes. Im not sure what articulating headrest do or what the need for them is but Im sure these is other items I would rather see money spent on than headrests, tire monitoring,TV screens, heated steering wheels and washer fluid. All items that add weight to our rapidly gaining wastline. Id rather have carbon fiber hoods & fenders, improved tec engines, higher quality materials and that kind of stuff. Thats why I say substance not gimmick. FOr example - Could the money spent on tire monitoring and heated wheels put quality leather in all cars ? If so this is the dirrection I would chose. Lose of 3-400 lbs would do wonders for gas milage not to mention weight distribution, instead we just keep pileing the load on the cars. * I had heated handles on one of my chainsaws 15 years ago but then I worked out in temps up to 26 below with no chance of "the car warming up". Somehow the thought never occured to me that I needed that option on my truck steering wheel............I guess that way you dont need to turn the heat on?.............

Free room, board and meals plus no car payment and no consideration for repairs helps.

*Cloth seat fabric on CX – gray and neutral why do I shudder when I read this ? Must be the memory of all the peeks inside of recent Buicks that did not have leather. Just exactly what is "cloth" Isnt that something they make womans dainty clothing out of ? Hardly suitable for dayly wear and tear never mind the appearence inside of a car. Then the colors should just be listed as "dull and babypoop" or how about "grim and diaperstain" tire pressure monitoring system must be the gimmick to end all gimmicks.........we all know how often we need to check and add air to our tires Id hate to be out of touch with that for more than 30 seconds heated steering wheel - now theres something 10% of NAmerican can use 10% of the time, kinda like the heated washer fluid....how did we ever survive ? TV screen - Arg ! we wouldnt want the kiddies to go more than the time it takes to walk from the house to the car without being able to sit infront of a screen now would we ? I though the great American hiway was the reason for Americas love of the automobile..............just stare straight ahead into the wittle screen my brain washed wittle darlings Flexfuel - Isnt going to sell cars when price and mileage is not improveing. They need to stop thinking they can negate the effect of Toyota and Honda having hybrids to market with excellent urban mileage by convinceing us we are doing the world a favor burning poor mileage heavily inflated corn.........just because I do like the two wheels shown for factory wheels I want substance not gimmicks. It seems like GM is trying to implode Buick, starving it for substance and making it a truck division, where the small upscale car ? Why are they letting product grow stale ? Lacrosse is on its 3rd year, still the same, Rondy is on its ? 5th ? Im sure all these new added features will see great sales gains for Buick next year

Welcome, we also have a Shaginwagon, just worked on it all day. Yea, I feel for the younger people, I have no idea how they are going to get anywhere with $6-10.00 and hour jobs when it cost nearly that much to make payments, insurance, gas and repair costs.

There is alot of new housing in the NEast, many older houses are going but there is too much here to just destroy it. There is also energy/environmental concern in doing so as well. Many NEasterners dont have residential AC anyhow though that is changing with the hot summers. Heat waves around here used to be high 80's low 90's and only an occasional summer, now we have had two brutal summers. I remember the summer of 75 I was in Boston. It hit 92 and we said "WEW!" Than it went up to 94, 96, 98 and if I remember correctly it peaked at 106. But that was Boston, here at home they only had high 80's low 90's. The college I was at did not have AC in the dorms, we survived but it was intense and we were young and having the time of our lives. At least here in the NEast we still have alot of shade in old residential areas. I cant speak for the NWest but any photos of the SWest I see are nothing but rooftops and buildings as far as the eye can see. Citys are nothing but big huge passive solar heat sinks, for the life of me I cant figure out why all these rooftops are not covered with solar cells, hell they just sit there bakeing in the sun.............all for nothing. I guess prioritys are a bit out of touch............or does our government have its hands in the oil industry ? Naw thats not it. Well we are on the right track if we want to keep setting new record high energy usage. Just keep that old population skyrocketing upward............yea thats it.............thats the answer. Come one, come all, welcome to the land of the free.....................ride!

"I hate to say it" Geeze Camino, Im not the devil......................just his son......... =};-) Thanks for the thumbs up though, I appreaciate it.

you'll know the answer to that question when you grow up, at which time you will move on to more important issues

pain builds character and stature. when pain is absent we become complacent and drop our guard, start feeling sorry for the lost souls of the world that dont have the spine to take care of their own affairs, next thing you know they are controling our affairs. Its been so long now we forget pre 9-11 but look at what that affair cost our country both in tax dollars and economic stability, in reality it was a very successful mission, we now have serious debt, wide political spred, insane product inflation, and the oil industry is saying "jump" and we all "Jump". Its more than obvious whats going on but we're all too weary from work, life and the whole mess its all become to do a damn thing about it so the machine grinds forward unchallenged Yep, 230 years and nothings changed its just gotten crazier. Nother day same old $h!..........compounded

Id like to meet everyone especially my adversaries because I know for a fact that I am not what everyone pictures me as. I guess there is only a handful I have much in common with however. Until then Ill just have to continue hanging out with my own friends............all one of them...........

We need this movie and more flag waving movies. It seems everyone thinks this country of freedom came cheap and free of sweat and blood. This maincured land of gardens, parks, concrete, blacktop, brick and finely finished rich American hardwoods came by some cute little fella in a three piece waving his majic wand. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ! Thats not how we got here ! Took alot more than an airline ticket or a bus across the border to be an American. It took duty and honor, all lost in todays "bleeding heart" socioty that knows nothing at all about bleeding.
-
The biggest problem you are going to have now is the fact that you are dealing with incompetent dealer "represenatives" and they are dealing with incompetent dealer "technicians" who have to deal with incompetent "service managers" who have to deal with greedy owners.................and basically no one gives a $h!, aint their car. They will get it fixed for you but not until you have more time into it than them. "Nothing comes free pal" "ya wanna complain your gonna pay, one way or the other" "just wait till he comes back the last few times before warrenty is up" "then we'll see whos tellin who, what"
-
You guys crack me up. Great posts. Now to further view this...."the militarys stance on gays". Well, lets see, they apparently lack the spine to make rational decisions on somewhat important issues by getting all petty. Refuse to recognize and celebrate vitally important pieces of American survival and history. Yet, at the same time find it important to parade through the streets once a year humping each others backs..............gee wiz, just cant understand it. No offence to any "gays" who have self dignity, honest fortitude as well as respect and awareness for just exactly what it took to make this world we live in today. I say good for Stockton, gotta wonder about the journalist that seemed to want to degrade the area for being a productive part of American socioty............is it possible to say this about San Fran ? I guess there was quite a drug culture there.............I'm sure thats passed now...................no wait.........seems like they have a counsel full of "crack heads"............bahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I said "tagline is irrelvent" because they change every year "they come and they go" so what EVER 3800 plant is going to close down...........sad but true I made no "assumptions" about the seats, did you ? I am seriously wondering how many were bought with the split bench, that would indicate to some degree desirability I miss no point about suspension tuning, Im pretty sure we are in agreement about excessively soft GM suspensions, I would however prefer substance over baffling BS when it comes to upgraded suspension. I dont want some magnetic shock, I want adjustable coilovers. No rant about features just stateing the facts, myself and the vast majority of the population is sick and tired of being blinded by on comming traffic, its just the children and "enthousiasts" that feel they need to drive by spotlight - screw everybody else. Articulated headrests are nothing but sales gimicks, as far as I know you are not supposed to drive with your head laid back resting, I mean my head never touches a headrest, I just dont see the point. Ya see what escapes you is the Japs will always be right there leading the way in sales gimicks, they have cheap labor, cheap materials and no matter what they throw out there the world is full of people like yourself that will fawn over that which you dont need or use. Simply thriving on sales gimmicks, going and looking at all products and choosing what has the most numbers on the dial. Then showing up at the party "mine has more than your does" Im proud to be a loyal American and not a materialistic snob. Whats next? everycar is going to have to have 5 TV's............bought from the Japs no less ? I truely believe our government needs to step in on this baffling bull$h! and stop it in its tracks, such an age of excesses at the same time as an age of shortage and supposed environmental awareness. That is my view point, as well as a valid point. There is everything Japanese that GM is doing while building cars these day, copy the Japs, that is how our interiors became one piece vacumn molded plastic in the first place. Ive looked inside those old Japs cars during many used car buying searches. Take apart the interior of a eary H/C body. Theres more pieces in that than today average Japanese car. Buick and Olds were using high quality, extremely durable, non staining velour material, todays material looks like dress socks...........whimpy ! Reminds me of the frail cloth used in the 50's & 60's. Government vehicals - here in upstate NY they are still domestics, I realize we upstaters dont rate as real "east coasters" But anyhow you should note my post said " Wont be long anyhow before our government vehicals are all Asain." But its you that misses the point, ya'll act like GM should refuse "fleet" sales.....................oh yea, that would be really bright Its simple B U I C K Lucerne is doing well and Im one real GM owner/enthousiast thats proud of it. Now if only that whatchamacallit..................saturin would just get the hell out of the way

Bad drivers tend to own... Honda? Toyota? VW?
razoredge replied to Sixty8panther's topic in The Lounge
A few others mentioned Sometimes you get a middle aged + successful man in an expensive luxury car that comes up behind you on an interstate while your passing slower cars and thinks your gonna throw off the cruise and move over because he flashes his lights...............I give them fellas the good old "New Yorker Indicator" Many of the self employed contractors in their pickups, if out rammin for.......whatever during the day are very impatient and hurried and seem thoughtless. Alot of those guys that have many subs and many jobs do nothing but ram all day long. One of my best friends does this, hes very successful and his cell phone rings just about every 10 minutes or more for this and that, Ive been out with him and its crazy. Their truck is the office and work horse. Not making excuses but I know whats going on, men on a mission. This is why I prefer to drive with the fastest, Id rather be out in front with the best than laggin back with these same people up my butt all the time. Its the drivers that seem to want to be up your butt because they are looking for a friend that drive me crazy. "Pass me already and go on" but as soon as they do, they slow down cause they want to hang out or something. Dont pull out in front of me, or ride my ass or get in my safty zone, or make demands and I'll never even notice your there, you'll just be another moving object to avoid. Its when I cant seem to avoid you that I get annoyed. Its the "stay out of my face" therory. -

Oblivious is the best you can fly right past them and they never even notice................I suppose this makes me sound like a reclined sidehat with a fart cannon ? .............hell no.................Im a hatless balding 25% senile in an Oldsmobile -
Now what suspension upgrades, if any would it have ? Like, is this the GTP or GS of Intrigues or were all the features, interior appointments and such ? I actually didnt think of looking at the wheels, it was too dark anyhow. I just saw what appeared to be a Black Intrigue and had to look, then I saw leather so I looked around for badging. Oh ! I know its steep ! Like K2 kinda steep ! You all know how used car dealers are, its did however say "or make offer". It will sit there for months and months. If Burt Renolds drove it its not worth a penny more than scrap...............
-
*Tagline/tagline, they will come and then they will go........irrelevent *RWD...........cant be done today sorry but it will always be there for you to pick at *engines are comming, like I said "noise for noise sake" *Seats both are available, right on the dealer lot, so irrelevent its rediculous but once again "noise for noise sake"..........I wonder how many of the some 50,000 sold had the split bench? *I already stated my peace on GM's suspensions in this "premium" car segment and I actually have first hand ownership experience. Magnetic shocks can zero in on the N pole and make a B line............Ill take adjustable coil overs for the sport version, substance over baffling BS would be prefered. Trying to make money or justify different models by changing wheels and tires sizes sounds like a disaster. Like whose gonna cough up an extre 5 grand for polished 18's & appropriate tire ? Or is the CXS supposed to be selling for 30,000 now ? *Zenons should be outlawed, as best my short memory serves me, low beams have been low for a reason, the only reason I have problems seeing at night usually stem from the idiot in the newfangled car with ultra brights just blinded me...........smile and say cheeze everyone..... articulated headrests...............ya gotta be kiddin me.................how in the hell did I ever survive so long without WETF they are? power tilt tele is very nice but in a 26,000 base model? not sure whats entailed in the auto window system but if it weighs another 100 lb's it be another good thing to outlaw, considering todays current energy issues and that high fat diet todays cars seem to be on. * GM used to use the best of fabrics before they began trying to be more Japanese So all these other "Premium" brands your always tootin, do they have a $26000 model? DO I think GM should....................NO not from the "base" models I looked at but as I said long before, who ever is doing the shoppin for that seat material needs to be fired, should have been fired 7 years ago from what I have seen of LeSabres/Regals/Centurys. Are all these other premium brands outselling the Lucerne ? or must we exclude "split bench models" because they shouldnt exist ? + exclude "fleet" models because we want to hand yet more sales over to the Asains. Wont be long anyhow before our government vehicals are all Asain. All rentals/ all Asain......... "oh, what a wonderful world" Lucerne is selling well so quit the already !

Id say thats a grand slam for Ghost Dog. GM's biggest future problem is that Toyota is ready for market with the hybrids and GM is still sound asleep. The Lexus hybrid got rave reviews from Tommy Kendal. There isnt even one planned for Buick that I have heard. I also wonder when these people will figure out that power to weight ratio is another answer..........................gonna be kinda hard with all the gadgets that seem to be must haves these days.

I just came across one of these last night. So is the GLS the top of the line ? This would also have the 3800, right ? Looked to be a nice car but it was "night", I believe it was Black, know it had light leather, wood but I couldnt see much else for details. So what all came with GLS ? $8995 was steep for a '99 but here is another car I wish I would have found a month ago.

1992-1999 Pontiac Bonneville, Very Nice
razoredge replied to under_the_bridge's topic in Heritage Marques
The H/C bodys were excellent cars, reliablity excellent. Ride & handling was an excellent compromise in the SSEi and Olds LSS (not sure what LeSabre had to offer in this area). I prefer the LSS to the Bonneville but thats taste and a bit of bias as well. The belts/motor mount is not that big of a deal once you accept the fact that you just need to support the engine and remove it. Because of how the core support/radiator is set up, the W body dogbone style front engine mount is not possible in the H body. This side engine mount is a necessity and rugged. The old 1st gen FWD H bodys did not have this mount and it was common for the lower mounts to get tired due to working to hard. The side mount took care of that problem. H/C body cars come with my highest recommendations, like hyper said not perfect but so loveable. I currently have 3 and owned 4 total. -
Sorry OC but you would just begin cryin about the 3.6 not being powerful enough, "base model should come with a quad underovercam (thats QUOC its in the works just for you)) 16 valves per cyl, no less than 14 cylinders, 16 speed minimun, thought control operated rear windows, wipers on the headlights, tailights, directional and side markets, laser brake lights so you blind everyone behind you when you stop, 28" wheels with 385/10/28's and interior appointments made by the sleep number matress company
