  2. Around here we have alot of them driving Fusions, 500's, Aztecs, and saturins
  3. I passed a sky the other day............in a free world, I really wanted to drive over top of it with a Mack truck...........however there was two people in it and that would be just wrong on their behalf...........otherwise it would have been picture perfect, all flattened out and on a boat bound for China.

    OMFG

Take the hood scoop, wing, silly badges and bumper sticker off it and I love it.....................I wouldnt have welded the rear door but I kinda like window delete and somehow the red looks good, whodathunkit. Hmm ? Sitting, look out the window at my 90 Regency as we speak...............
  5. Medowdale rings a bell, perhaps "Wide World of Sports" broadcast a race of two from there when I was younger. I too have an interest in traveling whats left of Route 66, for years I dreamed of gettin the old 65 V6 GMC restored and get the full experience but alas...........reality sucks I can still remember the sound of the old Detroits pulling the hills on NY Route 7 & 20 in the summer evenings. The valley I grew up in was surrounded on both sides by these routes. The sound travelling through the valley was like music. Im sure those living beside the roads were less impressed. The very same valley also had a railroad, the D&H officially, the Delaware and Hudson running through it. My village was named after the D&H......."Delanson", it was an old depot, acclaimed to have had one of the largest stockpiles of coal in the east at one time. Possibly partly due to General Electric, and American Locomotive (Alco) about 15 miles to the east. Those days were all past by the 60's and they only staged cars for further dispatch on all the remaining spur tracks. My friends and I spent most of our time "down by the tracks", something about them. On the same still summers eve, with the windows open as I lay awaiting sleep and contemplating the meaning of life, I could hear the beating of those huge diesel locomotives rumbling far to the west. It would be nearly an hour as they grew louder and louder, until finally they passed through town and then fadded more quickly to the east. That rumble, as well as the click clacking of the trolleys to the tracks and the distant howl of the Detroit Diesel are deeply imbedded in my soul. Id say thats why, I too, have a desire to travel Route 66.
  6. Yea they are, overly flat plained on the sides though, pretty cool, but not Exners best effort.
  7. Just the fact that this topic went from wittle bushy being an ass face to yet another FWD/RWD/AWD debate just proves how the idiot and all the idiots for that matter get elected, and then get away with doing all the wrong things and ignoring the important things.......................................... Sometimes Im just so proud to be an a Me rican Im with Carbiz on the price issue but I gotta say that Malibu is a very uninspireing styled car...............the Max is somewhat more acceptable but the plain jane Malibu is about as invigorating as its nearly famous ancestor...............the Chevette The sooner Chevy can rid itself of that body shell the better. Perhaps we could build a great big pile with them, a Great Pyramid of sorts ................and have wittle smirkin Dwey and ALL his croonies burried far beneath.
  8. I realize my, to the point approach and random unarranged points may seem strange to most. Make no mistake, Im one of the soberest people around. I had my industry crushed by this BS and my area has had other industries crushed. I have a clear picture. I know whos making money and how they are doing it. No one can ever offer a legitamate arguement to anything I have said. Unless you consider "its OK, read a book on economics and you will see" an argument. My check book is the only book on economics I need to read. I didnt get lazy, I got put to pasture in the middle of my prime productive years. Along with thousands of others.
  9. I did a search last year and found nothing. I was hoping to find a reprint of that recording or at least info. I remember nothing of it except it was different and they had a violin. Its was progressive and possibly off the wall, early"fusion", that does not necessarily mean they were bad but could make them quite unpopular. I remember the VanHalen concert Alice in Chain opened for............much of the crowd was not impressed, they just werent right for the VanHalen crowd. I found them interesting at the time and knew we had a new wave of heavy music evolving. Alice and Chain went on to fame and that was the last SamHalen recording tour. Ask him if someone from The Flock went on to better recognization........I think so but my memory is questional. Ive often wondered if it was Jean Luc Ponty but who knows ? No I think Ponty came out of Mahavisnu.
  10. It is the Bushmans fault that he is making assinine depatriotising comments and refuses to level the playing field.................didnt anyone hear that he is close friends with the Japanese leading asshole, whoever the hell he is. Great ! "Screw these generations of Americans, this guy is my "friend" and I need favorable trade agreements to keep my life easy..............after all I got this big mess in the mid east..............I dont need anymore, and the moneys just right............" Korea is building Nuc's and plants in the US in the same breath ?...................roll over FDR and Eisenhower............all you fought for has gone stark raving mad. All the boys that died on Normandy and the Islands, in the air and on the ground did it so their ancestors could get screwed out of their pensions and job futures because smirkin doeboy needs support abroad to prove some point about the mid east that ..................he ain'ta gonna prove ! HELLO ! OK forget all that, cause thats not whats going on.................... dont blame him or just the republicans See that it is, all the puppet masters from the past 3 decades that have made their fortunes selling off the soul of this country, exporting jobs and importing immigrants, both legal and illegal to keep the labor rates down.............. After all there is a real lack of money in this country.................no way in hell is their enough to go around....................... The author addressed the problem.. These other countries and their industries are not burdoned with the economical growth and its resulting socially economic better way of life (American dream) that came about during the 50's 60's and 70's. Now, so many are cashing in on their promised due, which was part of their pay package, be it elderly health care or retirement. This is the bill of good these people were sold, this was the American way, these were great years. Now because there has been no continuence, due to the loss of jobs in these industries, the contributions from current workers is not there to support continuence. Instead neccesary R&D dollars and quality dollars are going to support our ever increasingly fat health care, insurance system...............which employees ?.................lots of middle easterners....................... What the heck is going on in this town ? Yea I can see the full picture, its not current smirky boy and his croonies, they didnt start it, but their just sitting and watching it. yea the product is suffereing, but why ? I just told you. Balance the scales and the money will be there to improve product, keep loosing sales as well as profits due to our corrupt healthcare and investment system and your not going to have the economical power to beat the odds. I try to be positive but I really do believe I see the writting on the wall. I know everyones tired of hearing it but ................tic toc..... tic toc...... tic toc..... tic toc Theres more than one way to skin a cat, bullets are for kittens and gang wars, economic war is how you win the rights to make America yours. Come'on come'on listen to the money talk. Shall we bow defeated ?
  11. I dont know Bob, adding leather over stock wheel will make fatter wheel. THe leather wheels are thinner before wrapping......I believe IN other words I thik both are the same finished diameter. I say, your older now, successful and get great lasting durability from your cars.................live a little, spoil yourself................CXS is the only car for you ! I know you hate to leave the 3800, I was but I did. A 3.6 would probably last you well over 200,000 miles as well. How much for the Regal......?................
  12. I rather like the looks of that Porsche interior, I like an elbow rest for my shift arm though, still looks awsome and different. That Belvedere convertable cant be to common these days. Love the perfect steering wheel. Great car show, I thoroughly enjoyed myself............
  13. Chieftan Spyder Corsa Daytona Coupe finally saw my first last year, one replica and one commissioned reproduction, it would be a real toss up for me between a Dino, GT40 & Daytona, all different, all beautiful all very special
  14. 58 Impala overtop of the wing on that F50 and roof of that 308, I's spies a...............red DINO............ GT 40's rule !
  15. That Skylark dash is nice ! Not my favorite Maserati but two cars over is a ......................DINO
  16. AeroVette ! Coulda shoulda woulda........................didnt ! Low production, high dollar car could have produced some money to pay for all that R&D and man hours.................but Nooooooooooo
  17. Manta Ray ! The epitome of the Mitchell era GM please bring back the shark...........you have it in the Camaro concept........dont castrate it, pa leazz............. Id like to invite you bowtiedude to post one of those older interiors in the "just dashes" topic in Lounge..................
  18. Myself as a 3800 speciallist. The GTP's with SC engine are a great buy today, so are the Rivs. Intrigue with 3.5 I have recently found to have quite a good reputation. There are concernes with the NA 3800 series II intake manifolds and gaskets. A fairly costly repair.......................destroyed an otherwise bullet proof drivetrain and car(s). the 60* engines....................ah...............couldnt have been to great if the Pontiac and Chevy W body crowd jumped up and down when they heard they would recieve the 3800...................
  19. Wow, thanks Reg, thats what I was somehow remembering but didnt want to commit. I see more music I need to add to my collection. Just last year I got Brain Salad Surgery CD finally, I have no Yes and King Crimson ? I remember an album from them floating around, werent they the first band to have an electric violin...........no wait I just remembered, that was a band called "the Flock" they were an early 70's prog rock band. Some of those members may have went on to bigger bands or come from bigger bands, cant remember. Side note - we have had ELP's '92 effort "Black Moon" for, well, years. I like it. Greg Lake has one of my favorite voices behind some great lyrics. I think Ill pop it in...........................
  20. No ! steering wheels should be able to be held anywhere, comfortably however....... Ok OK , back to older open steering wheels and live with the DRL ? YES a fair compromise but now what do I tell that bleeding hearts soccor Mom commitee ? They have a lot of time into all that whining and crying down to city hall, what ever shall they find to cry about next ?
  21. I did look at a Sunbird conv with my daughter in mind but the interior was roached and thats a biggy with me, interior must be clean. Id like to take an old iron duke and do old school engine mods to it. Homemade tube intake with some Webers. Id love to have another 91 thru whenever they changed the steering wheel 3800 2dr. Regal Limited or GS to play with, they are not expensive now and really great cars as they sit stock, do some heavy spring + drop and place the Paxton SC to an old L27 with necessary internal work and engine maping. G3 Mulletmobile with T-tops LS2 6sp conversion, all the performance track tested suspension upgrades, good nuff. Thats just GM's...... next............... Old ratty Series III Sunbeam Alpine, do full body flares, wide axle, widen front track, place modified turbocharged 215 aluminum Buick adapted to modern 6sp and call it Sunbeam Sabretooth Fiat 850 Spyder converted to a hybrid of my own design... all and any saturins, so I can Clydify them with my Ol' Clyde Dagenham
  22. Wow, thats quite a show. So whats in Keeneland that draws such a huge event, Im thinking we dont have anything like that in NY. The Adirondac Nationals is big but thats just Domestic stuff and HotRods, lots of those kinds of shows. Theres usually about 10 -15 cars tops I find interesting and only about 5 I truely get excited about. Dont think Im going this year............"oh look its another 32 Ford, and another, and another, oh look its a 55 Chevy and another and another", dah! not for me............................. glad you enjoyed yourself, sounds like a great show.
  23. Lime Rock Park Sounds like a nice community, Brookville, have a great weekend...............and NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO drinking........................
  24. Good choices from Am Rev so Ill pick a few different A day in the studios early 60's with Bill Mitchell and crew Sub Carrol Shelby with Luigi Chinnetti early 50's with me a young aspireing race driver. Joe Satriani when I was still playing Geoff Tate when I was still writting Dick VanDyke for some fun Lauren Holly............for some FUN
  25. I understand. Ive always been a very aware driver with very alert vision so many of the challenges some drivers confront never entered my mind. Might just be like FWD in the winter. Many of us could get by without FWD but its a good thing most have it when it snows around these parts. 34 years driving, no incidences with traffic. I did fly off the road a few times in winter with a RWD ............... Seriously, I have never had a problem seeing traffic during the day and find this new distraction very frustrating and it obstructs my view of the beautiful world by throwing unnatural glowing objects into the otherwise sweet scenery. Thats just an opinion based on my observation. Seems like I should be able to get some bleeding hearts soccor mom commitee to do some lobbying in order to get my unobstructed scenery back.........doesnt it ? So clampon that air bag wheel tightly with both hands at 10=2 and look for those shiny objects and you'll be alllllllright ! :AH-HA_wink: ............................
