  1. OK, how about this ? Im thinking of ways to get some sinkage. Everyone was complaining about "wheres the 3.6". I said "it appears there is a shortage" "wheres the plant to build the 3.6 in this country" Now the 3.6 will be built in this country and all is fine with me. No, Im not taking credit for the thought, Im sure it was already in place. making sence yet ? Wanna use the platform ? ITs a good platform ? Good ! Design the body shell and build the car here in the united States so we can keep our brothern in work.
  2. & Moltar & Booya..........see you turned it all around and flopped it upside down, or should I say downunder ? My point was I want my American purchased GM's made in N America..........as Im sure Austrailians what their Austrailian GM's made in Austrailia, and as Im sure Japanese want their Japanese cars built in Japan. Only we, here in America, are happy to purchase something built by the hands of others, screw our own children. In many instances it is simply because it is not built here................ Excuse me for showing any team spirit...........from now on Ill root for the guests.............like the rest of you aMEricans. Diatribe...........Ill have to look that one up............its sounds important..........something American jobs, apparently are not............... still confused ?
  3. Yea, I dont get the pricing of that STS-V myself. We have looked them over and I much prefer the cleaned up body compared to the CTS but the square cornered interior is not real exciting and that extra $20,000 for a supercharged N* fails the calulator test. I know its a hell of a motor but it seems to me they literally want an extra 20,000 for it. I assume this is one of the Caddys that is now selling with "up to $6000 off sticker". Lov the body though. Otto, had all three V's sitting side by side with the less expensive models side by side, beside them, it was a nice display for exterior comparision. No V's were sold during June/July and the last time we cruised through in Aug all three still sat there. XLR V is exxxxxxxxxpensive and again with this squared off corner interior thats just not inviting. Luv the body though... Whos running this show ?
  4. global economy ? so they say, global world, not me, I live in the United States of America. If who, what, why, where and when doesnt matter.............why does Toyota or Honda matter ? You think I like GM becasue they made the Camaro or Riviera ? No I like GM because they have been the home team. When you go to a game, it doesnt matter who wins, home or guests ? Holdens have been GM's made in Austrailia for the Austrailian market, all makes sense. Lets stop making Holdens in Austrailia and make them in the US and ship them to the Aussies...............I bet that would fly..............like $h! hittin the fan. Lets stop making Toyotas in Japan and sell them the ones built in the US...........I bet that would go over with a big splash...............just like the American fleet in Pearl Harbor Get a clue, the only country thats making excuses for loosing jobs due to "a global economy" is America, the rest of the world is laughing at we complacent gumby puppet idiots. We just now are trying to make inroads into Europe with American "names" built in Europe. If a name is all your selling me, Im not interested.
  5. there had been a few of them for sale around here just a few years back. Not a good era for body styling and they represent who, what, when and why Detriot began to fall from grace by not getting it. At least the V6 or small displacement was a good idea but in a car of this size ? I have a test artical I bought off e-bay for LeSabre Sport. Performance for these early turbos was not impressive. Still kinda cool to see now that they are old. B bodies, gotta love em'. Olds had a Delta 88 Holiday that had a very delicious sport interior, all plush velour, floor shift, gauges. One of them came up on ebay 4 or so years ago.
  6. Id hate to say it, but the very same thing can and has been said of all Buick and Oldsmobile flagships for decades. Lexus is mostly responsible for KiLLinG us................so somebody wants that kind of thing, and here it is fitting in with the green scheme of things.
  7. Ho hum, another Austrailian Pontiac ? Was Pontiac American or Austrailian ? Thats right, it doesnt matter anymore, thats why we are about to drop all country names and live under one world government............right ? or should I say richt ? Look, I like the rest of the world, in their place, not mine. Last I checked this is America and I was born an American. With all that, Im pretty sure the reason Im a GM man is because they are built on my continent by my fellow man. If its not, its not a Pontiac, or a Buick, its a bird by another name. At which point I no longer see why it matters. Might as well drive a Toyota, at least then you know what you are driving.
  8. I'd be embarassed to respond. I really cant vote either. I have had 1-2 jobs a year for the past 6 years and was self employed for 20 prior and much of my income then was always reinvested, so Net was very small. Best employee year was 32,000 in 8 months - 3 years ago Best self employed gross was 55,000 in ?95 I think, net was reduced to 10,000 or less. Currently Id be around 40,000 with a full years work which = about 1.5 years work for most. In other words, no life, no responsibilities at home, no time with the family, just let everything go right straight to hell. Thats what happened 3 years ago. What happened to the 40 hr work week ? What happened to an honest days work for an honest days pay ? What happened to family values ? Responsibilities at home ? 57 hours this week, 59 last, bla bla bla
  9. Thing is, not one person can give a legitimate arguement in saturins favor, not one. These photos even prove it. Now Ill tell you, I fight really hard not to go to the saturin area and bash every thread but I dont. However here and in any other areas, its open territory for me. I refuse to go gaga over product from a "division" that never had a leg to stand on simply because now they are handed the key to the company. We will see Buick, Pontiac and GMC fall because this "division" and "hummer" will get product not allowed for the others and product that will compete intentionally & directly against, Buick, Pontiac and GMC for the soul purpose of "proving" Buick, Pontiac and GMC are unworthy of further developement. That said, remove that licence plate and you still have a freekish looking facia, one only its mother could love..........thing is, no one knows who the mother was, this baby was found sitting on the curb. And this was the "best" looking saturn....... from the nonprofit "division"......
  10. Wow ! I guess I havent been following, I think that was in developement about 3 years ago, am I right ? So its not even a real "Stage" block ? I have dreamed of building my own midengine sports car out of one of these. Using some shapely Buick body ideas from a few decades back. But alas reality finally set in and dream no more. Any pre 65 Buick should only be powered by a 445 Nailhead......all other powerplants should be outlawed for this use. So what if theres more torque available more recently, it aint a nailhead. I know, I know, I know
  11. The only people that wont agree with you Carbiz are the blind, ignorant, or "bleeding hearts club' and those benefiting from cheap labor. And it does have alot to do with healthcare & GM. This is a large portion of the labor force GM and their employees have to compete against This is part of the reason America cant have National Health care, because they already have their hands full, paying for all the mess that comes from immigration and illegal immigration, this country is a free ride to those that cross the border. Quite the opposite for those born here to American parents. and Yes, lack of volumn of youth in the old American industries work force has limited the contributions from the still healthy and working to maintain the health care and retirement pools. It was a good system, sold to generations of Americans as the way to go. Then our government let the rich wallstreet/CEO/economist types sell our soul across borders knowing damn well it was going to create serious issues when it came time to pay the piper. Thats the most disgusting part, they damn well knew all this was going to transpire and simple said "too bad" "we know its tough" "we feel for you" "yes, we know" "gee thats horrible" Most interesting part is, those employed by our government or I should say US/WE THE PEOPLE, are working for the only stable industry in our country. Their healthcare, retirements, vacations, jobs and pay raises are guarenteed, so when they give us the "we can understand how you feel" I simply want to give them a serious concussion so I can later say "I understand how that must have felt" party hardy aMErica
  12. Now this is just the $h! Ive been talking about. I guess those two photos about sum up saturins elustrious past, only these cars have been improved, get it, they are better than origional, yet they still look like crap. oh my, Im just gettin all............woody
  13. 276 ? Whats that the 4.1 ? on center stage II is a great block, but the on center Series II L67 is seriously sturdy too and its a common production engine
  14. Fall gets tiring if we get too much rain and.............MUD ! Winter gets tiring by the end of Feb, but that makes those great March and April days, oh, so sweet Spring gets tiring if we get too much rain, grey days and that cold damp never ending........gray, we've had a few springs like that in the NE the past 5 years, 50's damp and grey forever. Summer gets tiring when we get those heat waves. 90's = The end of August is alway sad for me, it still brings back the memorys of summer vacation gone and school begining but by the end of September I become humbled like BV description. Just starting our first fire now, in fact...............
  15. says alot for that lower end
  16. Everyone seems positve here. Im positive about some of the new stuff, Im also not too impressed with a bit of it either. Whats bothering me is, Im hearing all the dealerships around here advertising blow out sales to get rid of 06 inventory. They seem to be giving them away. O% interest again, up to $6000 off some Cadillac models, ect. So Im courious about sales. Ive seen no figures but yet everyone seems to claim all is going well. Anyone have sales comparisions through Aug. with say models two years back or more ? Im a bit sceptical. edit: this may need moving, its not an artical, I didnt know where to put it and didnt want it in the lounge
  17. L67 still has the stuff, just found this tonight, its actually a month old http://zzperformance.com/grand_prix/latest_news1.php?id=112 stock used block/lower end, stock differential & final drives, not too shaby !
  18. Good write BV...............
  19. I always liked Lotus, now that I have learned more about their history and the work they did for the Elise chassis and all others before it, I like them even more. Lotus is all about "when less is more" Tiny little cars that can and always have been able to run laps with the fastest of the larger sportscars. Origionally Lotus made cars that would accept a variety of small engines. That was Colin Chapmans origional intent. So you could place any engine you prefer and you would still have a true Lotus. With this new 260/260 turbocharged Ecotec, Lotus would most likely be happy to give it a serious look...............but we know what GM would do.........remember the Shelby/Aurora 4.0 act of stupidity ?
  20. Well, Im not sure which model it was but Tommy Kendall and Danny Sullivan did a Lexus hybrid test drive at Infinion Speedway for SPEED. They were very positive about the cars total performance and packaging. but never mind that we need more ....................."hummers".................
  21. Renault has had some great engine technology for decades but I dont think it makes it into passenger cars. Regardless we dont need to redefine what General Motors is.
  22. Oh yea thats it The GM divisions are starving for product, the public has a negitive attitude toward gas gusslin Suv's in general and toward hummer big time, toyota and honda have positive image for many reasons but in this instance for being a bit green. Now BOB and crownin think we need more hummers as usual BRILLIANT, ABSOLUTLY FRIGGIN BRILLIANT
  23. OK Fly, so whats going on with the camera and title. You tell them to keep their lips off that title, that car was not totaled or even damaged into unsafe condition. Even if you fix the car and could care less about its resale, if they total your title, they are still branding your cars as something it is not. They are also creating a very large amount of work on your behalf that you will never recieve pay from, just by simply being a bunch of dicks. For example, take a look at your effort thus far, now think about how much per hour your average law..yer expects for any effort regardless of outcome. Just wait till you have to do battle with DMV over that destroyed title. I dont know about you but when someone elses mess creates alot of work for me that I dont get paid for I tend to get a bit agro. "I want clean title or I'm going to sue you!" and throw the before accident and before estimate photos in thier face................ This things got me so aggravated.............friggin Toyota drivers !............... So ya wanna hit an Oldsmobile do ya ? Talk about irony, put us out of business and then polish off the few that remain on the roads.
  24. It is the governments job to make sure the people paying their keep are not getting screwed or more properly I believe the legal term is grand thieft larceny. This is what regulation is for, we are slowly seeing the end results of Regans deregulation. This whole system needs to be brought to its knees. Its abused and abusive itself. Our government seems to think they work for themselves and their personal interests, gains and promotions.................hello!............you work for us you jackasses ! slackers !
