Maybe lots of pot holes and poor mechanics. Maybe cheap tires. Are there obscure places tourists can take cars to site see ? We have some bad roads around here but it still takes over 10,000 abused miles on an already used car to see results through suspension and rattling. My 200,000 mile A body is a good example of a rather cheap feeling car but I manage to keep it fairly tight. Jump in a 300,000 mile C/H body and its still day and night. That old C/H body always has a quality feel. Though not the most rigid of large unibodies.

I wasnt being uncivil, I really believe same sex in a house with children present, is wrong, its my belief and I suspect that would be a majority. You are correct about what constitutes suitable parents. Hell, we're not even the best, that is surely impossible, with being human and all. However, anyone that has not held their own creation in their arms is absolutely clueless, make no mistake ! I emphazise that for a good reason, and any real parents will verify, I was clueless until it happened....not being a mother and all....I imagine they feel it long before we slothy bruts do. When you hold that baby in your arms, it rocks your world....everything changes. Suddenly you understand what it means to go to earths end, live and die for, its a love not even on the charts when it comes to "relationships". I simply cant find words. Gay couples of either sex can not witness this, its that simple. I certainly will make note that I do not sterio type all gay people. But I will say there is some questionalable issues within the population. There is also issues within the "straight" population, but to me somehow the gay issue compounds things. Now you must remember, I have mentioned a few times that I have a "live and let die" view. I'm not religious by any means but somehow my belief that "things happen for a reason" almost proves otherwise. The "things happen for a reason" is the reason that I can accept most same sex people in the first place. I recognize that some guys and gals are born with tendencies opposite what their sex indicates. I dont feel that it is what ever the terms used by the religous hard core try to convey. Its simply something that happened to some peoples makeup. However I do also believe there are those out there that my have been detoured by other reasons. "Things happen for a reason" I also apply to infertile couples, I believe some things were not meant to be. So yes I say the same to infertile couples. However they did not click the "cant reproduce" button with their choise of partner. It seems to me somewhere in here the gay community needs to realize that with their given situation sacrifices will go hand in hand. You all will eventually do fine though, with todays more tolerant views the bureaucracy is more than happy to pull our children from our homes over teenage drama/discipline issues and apparently allow adopted parenting at questionable rates, under questionable circumstances. Im not talking about the gay issue either.

Thats all, doesnt correlate with my experience. Of course I show concern due to the GM connection, thats a given. However if someone came around and said another quality car was already shakey by 10,000 miles, thought I may say nothing I would still walk aways thinking......."really ?"

Megadeth/Metalica - I just did some reading on this and it was actually shocking. Of all the bands and people, these guys sounded like a bunch of drama queens, not what one would expect. Mustaine definantly shows the result of years or drug abuse, he's delusional. Such a shame, I do prefer his style to Hetfields, Mustaine has alot more boggie in him. The pop metal bands had to many "less than" songs and I find it hard to listen to entire recordings. Sammy/Van Halen is one of the exceptions, but I go back to the 73 Montrose release for Sammy, we anxiously awaited that. There was much writtin on it in Circus. Ronnie Montrose recieved much acclaim from Edgar Winters "They only come out at Night" LP, due to Frankenstien and Free Ride. They said he had a vocalist that was going to step up to Robert Plants relm, they were right. Sammy is the reigning King of Rock and Roll in my book. I have a strong appreaciation for Firehouse's first two releases, they came late but had it down, adding some older almost bubble gum pop elements with great guitar struming and riffs that cut like a knife. Not always the case with the Poisons or Crue's of the scene. Most of the bands had a few excellent songs and the rest were silly fillers to get the recordings done, IMO . I find it interesting that that link and many others on Wikipidea do not mention Savatage when they talk about early influences or those influenced. I also have a great disagreement with their inaccurate use or description of "heavy metal". Zeppelin, Purple which may have influenced heavy bands were not metal, they were "Hard Rock", I dont even remember the use of the word Metal at that time. I dont even remember them calling Sabbath metal....yet. In my book, early Uriah Heep and Black Sabbath were the first have that heavy pounding feel. A very honorable mention needs to go to Atomic Rooster "Death Walks Behind You" release - 1970, another CD I need to get, I have the LP but its shot. Zep, Humble Pie and Purple while hard and heavy were much more blues based. Queens first album was a killer too, with some early elements of "metal". I believe all these old releases can be had through Amazon , Mustang. Like the old Priest and Maiden you mentioned. If ya ever want another good, interesting kick, pick up Black Oak Arkansas "Raunch and Roll", an extremely hot live album. It was heavy, hillbilly, rock and roll with the predecessor to Diamond Dave on vocals, Jim Dandy. We loved that record.... It was primitive and raw, but for some reason got them lots of recognition, it just worked, the title says it all.

Uh Oh...I've Done It Now THE MARRIAGE AMENDMENT is Gay bumper stickers are gay, and in this case it seems to be a double endorsement. However in no way shape or form is it a means by which to draw attention to ones self

No big surprise......here............. lets boogie !.............

All the cars I mentioned did not rattle, the front ends certainly did not "feel like they were falling out".......... , the fuel gauges were stable, "shaked while doing low speed turns in parking lots " ohkay duhkay ! What car is it you have again ? Oh well must be nice. Still dont think the extremes you purpose are honest, nor would I expect a $12,000 rental car to have "noncheap" BMW quality plastics to satisfy the privileged. It seems all this plastic wrapping we have inside cars the past 30 years has done nothing but harm. Its the continous center of attention, plastic this.........plastic that...........and I think back to a more simple time

Now that is 100% immoral, unnatural and wrong. If ya cant walk the walk you shouldnt be talkin the talk.

Theres a few more I need to get on CD Caress of Steel Fly by Night Whats "British New Wave of Heavy Metal" ? I have no Priest or Maiden currenty but I do want to get the first few recordings by both bands, also Helloween Keeper of the Seven Keys 1 & 2, also a Dio Never was into OZZY, in fact I just put a whole perfectly good collection of his cassettes into the garbage, it was a case of old metal this guy gave me. More than one song with Ozzy singing in a row is enough to make one want to kill themselves..... It was a case of old metal this guy gave me, had an early Crue cassette...sucked, Crocus....sucked, a later Doken that I bought...sucked..in the garbage, 2 or 3 old AC/DC...sucked...into the garbage it went. The California sound to me is anything with Sammy Hagar on it, the rest are all wannabe Sammys. What else would you suggest from the "Sunset Strip" ? *Deep Purples recent "Rapture of the Deep" is a well rounded recording but maybe thats cause Im an old fart. Steve Morse has great guitar work...naturally

Another Jerry Flint Column to Outrage Everyone
razoredge replied to ehaase's topic in General Motors
First, just to get it out of the way, I have to say, I dont see why anyone would get worked up over the DTS. Cadillac still needs a car like this and its fine for those that want this type of luxury ride. I just dont see the need to place labels on the car such as archaic or the people that tend to buy them such as geriatric. It is what it is. Our neighbor down the road has been in Caddys for as long as I remember. They must be around their 60s now and I think this is what they want, if it wasnt they would have been in a CTS instead of the DTS they threw down the cash on. Their other vehical is a Chevy PU......so that just throws a monkey wrench into the archaic statement. Then Im wondering if the CTS and STS are the same chassis, and you dont like the STS ride characteristics......they must simply be softer sprung ? They still have to feel like the same DNA however. Styling - If Harley Earl or Bill Mitchel had overseen the CTS they would have said "pull those edges further, tighter" ! They also would not have allowed that amature side crease to be passed off as styling art. *See Monty Carlo, G1 Tiburon and Santa Fe, Ford Focus or the little divit in the wheel well flares of the .........aura. Now I sum this all up with words like cheezy, amature, grade school talent. I like the smoothed off look of the STS but if it was edgy, without that silly "crease" I could go for that. I do like the thin taillights also, I dont think the CTS's tails make any statement, what so ever. Ive already said I couldnt believe they built the two on the same chassis. I, myself would think a platform share with Buick and a larger chassis for the STS would have been a better idea. Too late for that now, but just think about it. We could have had a $30,000 RWD mid size Buick for a few years now and the answer to the size/similarities issues with the STS............but Im no "guru". I didnt think there was much difference in the interior styling of either car. I guess Ill have to look better. The CTS interior never excited me, that I know. We were looking at them side by side with the Auroras way back and there was simply no comparision. Exterior styling either.......RWD/FWD or not. Well as usual GM management made a pile of mistakes and today the STS suffers, Buick still suffers and that Aurora is gone and the next one aint commin'. It will all be better in three years........right ? ... ... -
Ill have you know, that hurt me deeply and was uncalled for............

I had an Alero, in fact 3 different ones that were in the 60-80,000 mile range and they were tight impressive cars for base models.........so ? I also rented a early 90's Grand Am, the really doggy lookin one with the prezel face. That was an excellent drive and ride..............so ? I know someone, just talked to him recently infact, that has spent a great deal of time in rental W bodies.......he says someday hes going to buy one.........so ?

wonder how Wolfs, Geese and Doves manage to bond for life without the Lord or a court of law......... then try to imagine an Alfa Wolf and a.... ah never mind. The whole thing doesnt really matter anyhow, its just background noise. After this is resolved it will move on to the next big thing which will be child adoption and raising.

I have nothing to apoligize for. His mother is getting grief and he still wants to gather attention........its a very simple message.....one of them....get over it already Apoligies - Ive never recieved a single apoligy on this site and have endured $h! that would have the rest of you on your knees crying for hours (by this account), I would also not accept or desire an apoligy for the stuff I have been called and refered to........geeze.......tuffen up already.

and to think I have no desire to get "married" what so ever. I think its a bogus ideal. If you feel that you need the extra vows, commitments, rules and regulations to remain as one with someone your barking up the wrong tree in the first place. On the flip side I prefer to be free of most financial and estate obligations created by this little piece of paper. I believe this, whole heartedly, "we are not married and we are not divorced", that makes us so much better than all these married/now divorced couples. Marraige seems more like entertainment today. The bible ? The old testiment states that a couple are as one when they consumate. That was the old way, no big invitational ceremony.....bring gifts, get drunk, dance, ect. ect. ect Then of course children would follow. Then somewhere in the new testiment is states that one will follow the laws of thier governing body. Somewhere in there, probably due to many paranoid/devil fearing Christian sectors we got into the couple needs to be legally married in the "eyes of the Lord" or they are sinners. But "the eyes of the Lord" fall back to the consumation seen in the old testiment, so thats a viscious circle. Then theres that little chapter regarding Sodom and Gamora but who believes in fire, brimstone and turning to a pillor of salt ? So what are all the benefits recieved by being legally married that everyone is all worked up over anyhow? Family health plans covering spouse are the only thing I can think of. What else ? File tax's jointly always seemed like a punishment to me. We have always been better off going separately.

yep, yep and yep Everytime I see that people make outragous money to do these research projects, I feel like banging my head off a concrete block so I could be as comfortably numb as these nimrods! Now, we all have to realize that there is also a commitee working somewhere as we speak, trying to come up with more ways to improve motor vehical safety, thereby pushing the weight of a car even higher. Our 2dr G6 weighs 400 lb more than our much larger and much more comfortable 86 2dr LeSabre.........

This Hyundia/Kia situation it something that I have made many posts regarding. These are not only a threat to new sales but the total package is inviting enough to draw mid price used buyers away from one owner cars and 4+- year old Domestics are the most threatened by this. Reads: poor residual values, lots of cars sitting and sitting on the used lots, low loan rates, ect. ect. ect the sky is falling and truth be told, we can not blame buyers like your Grandmother for their decisions.

I made a very good point. As for how rude it was.......one can only look at comments thrown at me by those crying rude and wonder what the rules are for this double standard. I really do think I made a very good honest evaluation, that has a few messages in it, that should create some concern. But rather then taking a look at it...........what the hell, shoot the messenger. I also think on a scale of 1-10 it was a 7 for cleverness, it has seemed to gotten more attention then the carefully danced around numbers........ :AH-HA_wink: BV dont give me that " It was rude and I did not appreciate it, what so ever." If I had done that everytime you went off on me.....I would still not be recovered. Read it for what its worth and maybe something will click as to its meaning. The reality of the world is soon to be upon you, its a rough harsh place. That comment was gradeschool in the "rude" department out here in the big bad world and comming from me that was, nothing more than tuff luv.
-
not a panty man, they are like review mirrors on a sportscar....
-
actually it was something to think about. as for concerns about rudeness, and BV in the same sentence, doesnt really fit. It can be taken for what it was or misintrepret it into something far larger as you have done. I could have done the "this is a pointless thread" as we sometimes see, or said "boy that is kinda stupid" or "your looking for trouble" but I choose this method for its message
-
so you dont agree with my evaluation ? or you just think I should not have pointed it out ?

Isnt that the house they leveled in one of the "Die Hard" movies
