What in the flamin fuck kind of poll is this ? What are you talking about ? Any of you ? Get out in the world and get a life. Are we talking downtown crackville or are we talking down to earth country folk, are we talking West coast, Connecticut or rural America. If your talking welfare, talk welfare, that would narrow this crap down. You all just narrowed white trash down to anyone white living in rural America that doesnt fit into your assumed tax bracket. Let me make this very very easy for your overly educated yet still simplistic minds City welfare - mostly very tired Riceroni Country welfare - mostly very tired American made cars ANY QUESTIONS ?

Camry - multiphotographic Japanese tourist from the mid 80's was out walking one morning when suddenly came across a photographic moment but was disturbed when he realized he left his camry in the hotel room. Was paid in 300 lbs of rice by Toyota for his ingenious misunderstanding of English. He was last seen washing car windows in Manhatten for money to purchase airline ticket home.

Boy, tough question. Not sure I know how to evaluate it. Name plates period as in appeal of the name itself or cars with such and such a name plate ? Then one has to feel that the nameplate has appeal to both young and old? Then you said bring back or keep around ? Sorry I cant get to your post for reference currently its too far back. Im thinking you might have to start again or just figure all nameplates must exist and non current ones be brought back and thats alot of cars  A few names only, ignoring the car itself that I thought were great that are currently gone are Wildcat - The ultimate Buick model that should appeal to young and old but thats just my opinion. Riviera - so classy but mostly appealing to a tax bracket or frame of mind, not age oriented Toronado - bullish and stormy Eldorado - Has that cowboy feel, perhaps Eldorado should have been a much meaner leaner machine to fit its mane. Mustang - was retired in 1970 :P Cougar - how cool Torino Cyclone - serious name Montego Montery - excuse my spelling(or is that right?) Imperial NewYorker- both are very explainatory and airy Newport - as well Gremlin - Javelin - really how devilish of appeal do these have, these will have to rest in peace Im afraid Import names suck except for anything blankity blank blank Z :) Civic, Corolla, Celica, Camry, Accord, - really ! give me a break, Ultima  Legend :o Oldsmobile - forever missed but twisted into some false meaning by uneducated and misinformed children then exploited by GM for this reason to provide more money for satanurine (which should be hypnotically removed from all earthlings memory) Always loved Belair - been gone along time Limited - for finer Buicks Super and Special - but just wouldnt cut it with the competition today 442 - four forty two - any questions ? Camaro - any questions ? Ill always prefer classy names to letters and numbers especially with the vast amount of numbers today. When it was just a Porsch thing or a Ferrari cyl displacement figure combined with a slick name it was fine but today its so so so out of control. So problem seems to be all the great humbly discriptive names have been used so we reverted to arrogant names in the 90's like Intrigue, Achieva, Legend, Legacy, Ultima, Maxima, there are others I cant think of. But say NewYorker or Riviera or Cyclone or Belair or Wildcat have an airy meaning that has a light feel but is descriptive without the "im the best" arrogance to it. Do I ever make any sence ? Good luck with this one

Pedigree !

I was just slightly razzled when I came to this topic thinking the GT was on the track turning laps with Corvette and company, instead I see a bunch of talk about 0-60 times and that the 1/4 mile was the "real" test  yes indeed my reaction was "OMG". empowah - Supercar is identified mainly by styling it seems or perhaps it needs to be midengined, or perhaps it is a price tag. Im not really sure. Under these unstandardized rules I would assume the Ferrari Enzo is a Supercar but the Maranello is a sportscar ? This would mean the S7 is a "Supercar" while the Corvette is a sportscar, yet they both includeing Maranello compete in GT1 the former GTS catagory. This is all so open to interpretation. SO where does all this leave the Modena, Aston Martins, Viper and ___ fill in the blank car? So while we may not want to think of the Corvette as a "Supercar" it surely has proven to be one and one of the most "Supercars". Now for "pedigree" The Corvette has a pedigree, the GT is a clone bred from frozen semen and has a pedigree with a 40 year void in it. Thereby not entirely recognized by the "Supercars Breeders and Judges Association of the World". That would be SB&JAW to those in the know. :CG_all: I could give two hoots about what Corvette does in 0-60 or the "big" 1/4 miler. So long as it keeps sales high and the rest of the pack in the chase on the "real" tracks it will remain a Supercar of high pedigree.

There is alot more going abroad than 6 dollar an hour jobs. People in favor of outsourceing are too near sighted to see the end results It takes all kinds to make a world, we need jobs here for everybody. Not everyone wants a manicure and waxed balls. Not all Americans have expendable moneys. Then much of what is out there is masked by credit cars anyhow. Not everyone wants to mow lawns and scrub floors for income. It all depends on which side of the work force you stand on. It depends on whether you see the world as one big suburb or if you are more grounded to the earth and like the country. There is so many variables you cant justify such a narrow view of outsourcing and its effects on such a vast and diverse population. Then we wont get into the facts that these countrys were poor while we were doing good. I think its just a matter of what you can actually see and feel from where you are standing. I choose not to believe and feel that if something doesnt happen to me it can have no negitive effects.

The Ford Iosis concept car - defining a new design

Nice Aston Martin rebadge "defining a new design" ? -
Great Info, somehow I missed the last few posts of this thread way back when. I never knew much about the Scarabs, I need to do some research.
-
Is that the Jetsons ? Kinda funny how that is the exact opposite of what came to be in the 70's.

HO Omega - Pontiac Bird Turd - Yikes - I just dont have the words to describe how I feel about this particular bodywork
-
Well that would be up to the Chinese, remember we are going to subcontract our political positions to the Chinese as well. This way here we would be maintaining a fair trade standard as well as keeping a level playing field......in the interest of all Americans....of course

I mis state CSX continously myself, just more prove that alphabet names are soupy.

OMG - These are sports cars children, you know road course cars, LeMans, Sebring......ring any bells yet ???????? THese are not stupid little 1/4 mile cars that have little further use, I dont think the Corvette was designed to prove itself at local so called "speedways". Dont know much about the replicas road worthyness but its original already proved itself decades ago. The Corvette has proved itself for the last 4 years. S7 just doesnt have it going on and the Viper has proved that it can disturb more tire barriers than Nascar laps run under caution. hoy boy, a real magazine shoot out

I never doubted it, never even questioned it. Then someone who swears it was all staged for cold war purposes got me thinking. So I was just wondering what other opinions or therories there are out there in other parts of the worlds ?
-
It wouldnt stand a chance, it will be 20 hp to little, 2 gear changes too short, Mustang wanna be, Charger wanna be, dash not like a Hondas, wheels too small, overly retro, not enough like the origional, and priced way to high

There is no Jesus in China, that would be the spirit of a thousand warriors

So should that interior look just like something Asian ? then what can we come up with to criticize about it ? Copycats ? The different dash approach is actually something I like alot about Lacrosse. Was disappointed in door panels but I still believe door panels should be finished in padded cloth, chromed pot metal bezels and the likes. I bet a door panel costs a fraction of the cost of say 1990 but yet GM still cant make no mo. That Regal interior's nice but it is little more than a combination of the 90's Regencys/88's, Aurora and Riviera interiors but its got TV's to make everyones eyes bug out. Of course everyone assumes they are standard free of charge on the run of the mill Regal. I think there is way to many designing women on this site. Its either exactly what you like which you've already seen on a BMW or Asian or its no damn good. People just cant except things as different for what they are. Not the same old thing.

Oh boy, lets just call the whole thing Chevy Hows abouts everyone stop trying to rewrite history and put the effort into more eye catching and functional vehicals. Think of the money that could be saved if employees hired to ponder these stupid and foolish questions were fired, sent to China to find their rightful place in the world. Then that money could be spent on better engineers or designers, or it could be put into larger bonus's for the CEO's that have contributed so much to the betterment of mankind. GMC is not hurting anything and would be much better off had the heavy truck sector not been sold to Volvo. More of Roger Smiths doing I suppose ?
-
yea, I suppose it does have a bit of Stratos influence but if it was made in 70 it would predate the Stratos wouldnt it ? But its not Italian anyhow. Bodys got to be Italian even if the car is not.
-
Yikes, looks like something saturin would have put to market, for people that hate cars.

Its all just so curious, the whole thing never passed my sniff test

Hey I approve of that front clip on that C4, very very much. I want #2. In yellow of course. As far as i know 84 C4 was first American production car to produce lateral 1.0 g in magazine road tests, I think it was Road and Track. So they ride like crap at 35mph on city streets, who cares there made to do 130 on back roads where that suspension will eat up the bumps like nathin !
