Now I have love for that Starfire GT as well as Skyhawk Nighthawk. Set in bezeled twin sealed beams ! I always thought the old H body was kinda cool, I guess they were not really good cars though, bad in snow and some problems. But think about the styling ???? Was this the first "bubble car" ? Is this the first "arched top". Would the above red side profile look similar to a 350Z profile ? Would one of these in Buick Skyhawk form go like hell with a intercooled turboed B U I C K 3.8 ???? How about a 350 Olds in a Starfire, what the heck just place the 403. Regular unleaded and lots of torque, would make a great winter car ;-) that was a joke. Check out that red velour pillow & buttoned seat in that drop dead gorgous 74 Recency 2dr Hardtop. Damn that just makes me silly. Those cars have got to be collectable at some point in time.
-
I read about this way in the past, but have since forgotten. What was annual production of this plant supposed to be ? One of the recent Solstice topics said I was thinking this sounded low.
-
Harley your a sicko. Worst 74 Camaro back seat, was my buddies car and he and his girlfriend were in the front, me and my sweet, sweet Joanie were in de back and that tiny cramped area never stopped me from anything. Ah what wonerful memorys. Best - Well Harley your one of our Trivia men as well as a bit of a American Motors man. Can you tell me what was so awsome about the front seats in a 1974 Matador 2dr. ? Ah yea, that was my sweet sweet Joanie too. Wonder hows shes doing ? Awsome girl + friend, I will always miss and think of her. Thanks for the memories !

I like Hondas or Acuras more Buickish tailights, GM needs to get back on the ball with this for our Buick division. I made posts on this in the older forum.

I thought the Cobalt SS was a proven and approved compact for performance ? It would look better if I had of made the final styling decisions but its pretty sharp and different from the pack. I have noticed that it seems all or rather most Japanese cars (I dont research them) now have the drooping lower lip grills ? I dont think they are that sharp, at all. I hope GM doesnt start doing this.
-
Well ???????? Let me see if I can come up with something kinda ...... similar Katrina ? How about a song ? By perhaps the Rolling Stones ! Ah never mind, bring it on, were not ready but it wont be a sucker punch, we'll just bow defeated.

option codes for sport option packages that were specific to that car and that truck.

You gotta be kiddin me ? I really was more interested in the paint job. }:-0

C pillor has that Cavaliar look

I give em excellent review. I would never waste this time on a riceroni and could care less what kind of car its was supposed to be. but I would on more then a few recent GM's. I would use a different approach to the same idea, it would be cleaner GFX. I would like to point out that this is special to me. It shows a paint sceme I wanted to use on a piticular mid engined IT3.8 Buick LeSabre 2dr. The actual Buick gold from the early 70's combined with seafoam green or oceanmist or what ever that color was called from the mid 60's. I always thought they would look good together. Thats some air intake work !
-
Now that is just shamelessly wrong ! Ya know thats a couple different cars, right ? 1952 Mercedes Benz Americana Im beginning not to like something about this trivia thing. This is worse than grubs in the cabbage Thats it, its a Packard Grub

75/76 Olds 350 in "88" had them and cat too. I just saw some kind of Evap/ventilation system in my friends 55 "88".
-
Emerald Green G6 coupe - how cool ! Now theres a car worth considering.
-
Harley, we used to get them from time to time in the swiss chard or leaf lettuce and such from Dads garden. Never forget to look inside the cap of a Rasberry, those little green worms are kinda bitter.......yet chewy !!!!!!!!!! Afids(sp) on the blackberrys......bitter yet chewy !!!!!!!! EW!!!!!!!

When we were Kids, on vacation in maine, skipping rocks in shallow rocky & COLD ocean water one of the rocks went squish. it was a skate, for those that dont know because I didnt until then its a form of fish like the Stingray (car related....ey!) . Looks just like a rock under a foot or two of water. EW!!!!

"you all want cheap and inexpensive products and a vast varity of toys" how many times have we heard that. My father had one Refrig which I got when he finally bought a newer one with larger freezer One TV upgraded later for a color One Sterio, One Vacume cleaner "Electrolux", we are on or 3rd in 15 years and its blowing dust out as fast as you vacume, one toaster, tablesaw, lathe, all the typical shop tools, most are still working in my shop. They didnt run around like chickens with their heads cut off, when both my Grandfather and my Father were alive they did not understand why all I ever did was work. Then now some want to say "get an education" OK Ill ignore the insult that I dont have skills or knowledge we've already beat that to hell. Ill ask this instead, how in the hell do I (anyone) pay my (anyone) bills support my (anyone) family while getting this "education" without loosing the house and the first 2.5 decades of my(anybody) back breaking accomplishments ? I think its easy to arm chair what someone else should do when you (anyone) doesnt have to do it themselfs. Im only trying to open some eyes to what its like on the other side of this "lets get rid of blue collar working class" "get an education" "get some skills" all terms that flow from the tongues way to easily. I actually never though of white collar work as the only thing "skilled." In fact quite the opposite. Its so arrogantly thrown around that word "skill" these days. Seems others have gotten their hands on it and perverted it.

Well spoken Cmattson We are only at the beginning of this thing theres alot more outsourcing on its way, unless people smarten up across the board. How anybody can be in favor of it or promote it is beyond me, perhaps they have much to gain. Our grandmothers and mothers didnt need to work They raised us - but dont mention them ? So the microwave and better AC operations were invented. We also ran a space program and some serious Military off our Grandfathers, Fathers and American businesses Taxes. but dont mention our Grandparents because they didnt have a microwave ? Im pretty sure my Grandfather had a refig and freezer as well as one of the first color TV's in the family, he had a good GE job -die setter - so all the latest inventions meant alot to him. Drove new Newports every four years. Did carpentry and concrete work around the community for a little extra plus entertainment. Retired at 65 but continued to work cheap for entertainment well into his 80's restoring old houses for a local realtor. Retired permantly at age of 93. His last car was a 82 New Yorker which I now have. His last project in his early 90's (not that he did the whole thing now) was an addition to the local fire department that is named in his honor for his lifetime of dedication to the community as well as board member and fire department when he was much younger. He remembered the depression really well and marveled at change and innovation. One innovation he did not marvel at was the destruction of the country that his generation and others helped to build. Outsourceing had begun by early 80's and I remember all to well how hard it was to get a job, Schenectady was a GE town "Electric City" ALCO (American Locomotive) that early downsizing outsourceing put a crimp on our local economy. That was why work was a tuff find "prior" to Regan. So perhaps Ive seen too much ? So I shouldnt mention it ? OK , well I did anyhow. I will always support keeping all types of jobs within our country for the vast varity of humans being born each and everyday. Why wouldnt I ?

Ive know about GM quality for years. Now to just get America to see it.
-
Were still thinking on a trade to a Cobalt of some sort. They get kinda expensive fast from base model.
-
Now GM is probably not seeing any of that extra money ? Why is annual production so low, I seem to remember a much higher number
-
Really ! Then the charcoal evap/vent loop is fairly old too correct ? Hey Ill get naked and rub myself all over that 67 Vette*** alone and in a garage but with that 04 GTO running Ill be kicking the door down just to get out because its so ugly :P just kiddin I like GTO but Im not going to sniff the fumes. ***not to be trusted alone with anyones finely sculped car <_< Seriously I dont know about 6T8's quotes, seems like it would be impossible and I personally would doubt it without seeing it, Chevy was not known for best metalurgy but maybe thats why, combined with lead in gas, who knows. That still isnt going to lube the journals. Maybe they were using STP, maybe it was an STP test. I did read an account (5 years ago) by a Ferrari driver of I think 66 or so LeMans about one of the P cars. It was the smaller class because the larger Ferraris failed. He claimed that the car had blown rad, or hose or water pump, something where it ran a very long time without coolant and still finished the race. I should look and see if its still on the web somewhere. I found that hard to believe too but for LeMans there at least used to be some thought put into this kind of stuff, like all the vents that used to be on the cars.

Agreed with the above. Its the ease of manufacturing and assembling the entire drivetrain as a unit. Fuel tank location is another bonus but not just from an available room angle but engineering expence, its so simple to put it up there under the seat where the driveshaft and pumpkin used to be. Same goes for the larger driveshaft tunnel, more steel, more expence in engineering interior utilization. this tunnel became the perfect place to put exhaust where in RWD you need to put some effort into tucking exhaust up into floor boards. Id say it also required a much easier and simple floor pan, easier lower center of gravity from an engineering standpoint. On the more premium cars like the GM H/C and G bodies they didnt skimp on rear suspension so there is no savings there. This FWD change also came at the time of downsizing and made it less expensive and easier to reduce the size of a car while still maintaining a large roomy car. Ill always refer to the GM C/H body as prime example of how well this package worked. Its the best to use when comparing to what was lost with downsizing and RWD. The C/H really doesnt have the handling and steering and ride issues that are commonly called up by those that favor RWD. Really quality engineered and built cars with little torque steer, decent handling for the luxury ride and lots of room as well as being safe in crash. Things are changeing and sometime soon if the Domestics dont go under we'll have a better varity.

Im a white country boy that has busted my ass my entire life. I know many people that bust their asses and work hard and are not trash that do or have drivin some of the cars and trucks in those photos. My reference to overly educated simple minds was just verified by your simplistic inability to comprehend why I am bitching, as well as your simplistic need to ask me if I realize the benefits of tecnology. My reason for referenceing to the overly educated simple minds is because I feel somewhere during the learning process many seem to forget where they came from which is a trait of being simple. Combine that with the steady deterioration of this thread to include any and all cars and trucks that were ever driven by white country folks brought me to realize we were dealing with some simple mindedness, but somehow that went right over your head. Im sure the Giraffe caught it though.

Really Silv, your making my momma cry :( come on bro fly straight your creatin' a bit of yaw ! :) 401ci & 425ci ?????? Right ???????? I know its confusing because they were called after their torque numbers. Someone help me out here on that one. I think I saw photos once of later 455 start carts too ?? Correct ??? Maybe they were 430's ?? Great info Fly, thats amazing stuff. I see why as a country we are broke however, its that damn JP-7
