  1. I like this. One in RHD would be sweet!
  2. Looking at that car make makes my brain hurt.
  3. Ok ZL-1, i'll take your word on that! I still think the car is horrid though. You can't polish a turd...
  4. Uhh isn't there some sort of rule here that posts should be in ENGLISH ONLY??? And yes, the TK Barina is crap.
  5. Point taken!
  6. Oh god, kill me now. Ugly, ugly, ugly. Still a crappy old Daewoo underneath all the BS.
  7. I'd love to see a new Venture/Uplander/whatever-the-hell-its-called. My in-laws have a 2003 Venture and its not a bad van at all!
  8. Congrats to Buick on this one! As much as the brand confuses me, its good to see them do well. Lets hope GM seizes on it and heavily promotes this.
  9. Hummer is GM's "big metal cars make us big money brand". Its a cash cow with nothing to offer.
  10. For once, we agree! If someone gave me the choice of a Cobalt or an Astra, i'll take the Astra every time.
  11. Good to see so much passion for the brand here. I can see how its somewhat of an aspirational brand in China, but to me, in the US, Buick is ..well, dead. Then again, I really hope I am wrong. My opinion is based on the idea that Buick has no real discernible place in the domestic GM world (to me anyway). Cadillac does luxury and that should be the aspirational brand. I know that i'd like a Caddy! Pontiac should do sporty, Chevy should do value and Saturn should do ..well whatever they do. Buick? Where do they fit in? Are they luxury brand? If so, you can't have two luxury brands, consumers only become confused. Are Buick only there for the blue-rinse set who want a nice comfy ride to insulate their fragile brittle bones before they shuffle off this mortal coil? I dunno honestly. Buick leave me confused.
  12. When its dead. Hopefully GM don't stuff things up so badly that they kill it. They NEED to have Pontiac as a brand. My main issue here is that there's no cohesive desgin language within Pontiac, nothing about the brand and its vehicles that openly and visually states "I am a Potiac and these are my brothers!". Its so much of a mish-mash of designs and concepts that, as an outsider, its hard to descern what a Pontiac actually is. Let me put it this way - you can look at Merc's, BMW's and Cadillac's and tell, no matter what the body style, what exactly they are. They carry specific design DNA. Pontiac doesn't have this, and that what I think it needs. A person shouldn't have to ASK what car they're looking at, they should already know or have an awareness. Just using the same grille isn't enough.
  13. Not nice. Was Buick's supplier having a fire-sale on chrome? Can someone explain to me where Buick fits in the domestic GM portfolio these days because with these cars, I surely can't tell.
  14. In that case, i'd be hoping that Holden would be eyeing the car off rather keenly.
  15. Oh no... oh well, looks like the MX is going to own the market. Unless you can afford an Elfin Clubman. Thank you!
  16. Hey guys, Dumb question(s) *Can the Solstice be produced for RHD *If so, do you think it could make its way down under, possibly as a reciprocal item for the G8? I'd love to see it come here, especially as a MX-5 fighter...
  17. That is the Tigra.. which is now dead. Sadly.
  18. I own a previous gen Corsa C (albeit slightly modded) and even it makes the Chevy Aveo look just plain awful. Saturn need to get the new Corsa D to you guys ASAP.
  19. Heh, you think you hate him there, think about how all us of foreigners feel! He really goes a long way to making America and Americans in gerenal look bad. Anyway, back to the subject at hand.. I'm a big fan of diesels and i'm thinking of trading my '05 Barina 1.4 (Corsa C) for an Astra Diesel. One of the factors for me too is the fact that Bio-Diesel is becoming widely available in Australia (well at least in the big cities where I live), so not only will I save on fuel, I won't be chewing up fossil fuels. As long as I give it careful maintinance, all should be relatively ok. Two thoughts though: *Why haven't oil compnaies that Bio-Diesel should be cheaper and easier to make then regular Diesel? *Why haven't car companies pressed ahead with diesels designed to run better and more efficiently on Bio-Diesel?
  20. Its currently available on the HSV GTS and HSV Senator, so i'm guessing they may appear at some point. Still, the G8 is going to be an awesome handling car as it is, providing the suspension settings are played with too much for the US market, the Magneride only enhances the experience.
  21. From what I can gather, the G8's model specs will closely imitate the Commodore SS/ SS-V. As others have stated here, the options available to the cars provided by Holden should appear on the the G8. The video posted up here was taken at Lang Lang proving grounds... Just some other bits I can think of (some related, others not).... *The show cars wheels and brakes are both HSV GTS items and can be purchased. I wouldn't be surprised if they were an optional extra. Otherwise, http://www.jhp.com.au will be able to offer them to Pontiac owners. The Magneride system come as a option too. *The VE series was designed with sedan, wagon, coupe & ute variants in mind. So what does it mean for you guys? It means the ute may well come there as the El Camino, and the GTO will return (that has been planned for some time now, its just down to the business case). I'd like to see the sedan and wagon turn up as a Chevrolet Lumina too. *The VE series will be built in North America at some point - I wouldn't be surprised if Oshawa was the plant used. Elizabeth can only handle so much production and is near capacity now, plus the cost benefits of making the car in North America are simple too hard to ignore.
