  1. Roomy midsize? More like compact in a subcompact form. It has a tiny bit more space than a Honda Fit, but the Fit has seat configurations that make it much more versatile. Most days I feel both are equally awkward looking.
  2. As he chats about here, I think Hyundai and others I think have an opportunity to differentiate themselves by exposing and optimizing the entire build to be as green as possible, I think there are a lot of consumers who would make that a big part of their buying decision even if they have to pay a bit more.
  3. I don't know if I'm ready to call BEV's/hybrids green, articles like this by Savagegeese make me wonder.. Hopefully transparency becomes the norm. http://www.thedrive.com/sheetmetal/9306/the-human-cost-of-modern-battery-usage
  4. I feel like the Clarity is a bit of a science experiment for them and they won't have much volume in their hybrids until the CRV hybrid is released here and gas prices continue to rise.
  5. I doubt they will be too radical in their differentiation, their total sales have been growing pretty decently in the USA as is considering it is just a complimentary market for them and the established brands they have been competing with. 2017 226.511 1,30% 2016 210.213 1,19% 2015 202.202 1,16% 2014 182.011 1,10% 2013 158.061 1,01% 2012 139.310 0,97% 2011 117.561 0,92% 2010 101.629 0,88% 2009 82.716 0,79% 2008 87.760 0,66% 2007 93.506 0,58% 2006 80.113 0,48% 2005 83.066 0,49% 2004 30.749 0,18% 2003 35.378 0,21% 2002 85.726 0,50% 2001 83.283 0,50% 2000 80.372 0,50%
  6. I agree.. Most spending $250k on a car are not going to go on a 500+ mile roadtrip with one, their time is money and they will fly and have a high end rental at their destination. A high end EV makes more sense.
  7. At this point I don't have a favoured brand, most are worth considering. Every model has its own plus and minuses and I will vote with my wallet based on needs, research, budget etc, without sentimentality or bias. Both our cars are 10 years old and have had no issues aside from wear and tear items though. We only need one car so it could be 5+ years before we buy again. Gotta question those awful performing Honda Accord Hybrids with their mid 40's mpg and 0-60 in 7.0 seconds, huge trunks and passenger areas..
  8. G70 has AA and CarPlay too
  9. I usually commute with a 4 cylinder Accord or TSX. Our prices are 30% higher here, around $4.20 USD a gallon and much of my commute is in stop and go Toronto traffic. My parents swore off GM around 2005 after two bad ones in a row.
  10. WTF, one is a large midsize family car, the other a small compact.
  11. Seems to have an older version of their infotainment than the Accord (no Volume knob), it has some odd visibility issues with that rear deck, it drives softer than an Accord, and the engine revs/noise can be oddly disconcerting/disconnected with your actual driving behaviour when it fires up. I could get it cheaper than a mid-level Accord though after the rebates. I'm not thrilled with paying $10 a day in fuel for my 50 mile roundtrip commute these days due to our inflating gas prices.
  12. Beat plug in midsize value is probably the Clarity after 14k in rebates here. Too bad it looks a mess.
  13. I have never been on one of the larger 4000+ passenger ships but I've been on a few average sized ones, I would go on another cruise before I went to another all inclusive resort, especially with kids. Our family just needs to avoid the cheapest cruise lines or go on a Disney cruise because we like better food and the difference in the crowd. I think my wife is researching the Celebrity Reflection for 2019 at this point. I think the bigger the cruise ship the uglier they are in appearance, but I care more about the experience onboard vs the looks from off it.
  14. HRV and Everus remind me of what Honda also did with the Civic and the new Insight.
  15. Recalls are definitely not a good indicator of reliability or quality IMO. We all know about the Cobalt and the lack of recall until deaths happened despite GM having knowledge of the potential issue.
  16. Gas prices are already sky high up here again
  17. Owners will have to put up with some negative vibes from people who think they know it all trolling them in public over their unibody truck.. Sometimes I think a better looking/executed Honda Element could do well these days.
  18. A Volt with more cargo room and possibly better rear seat room as well? Sounds like a much more appealing car to me.
  19. Hmm not sure if it is worth the risk, current one is fine. I'm iffy on colours in Logos. Kia used to have colour..
  20. Good friend of mine still has a 2008 SRX V8.. He has had a fair number of issues, but then he drives his cars into the ground (has 380,000km on it currently). He would like another one of them with the updates but after having a few rentals with Android Auto he has been spoiled...
  21. I wasn't a fan of the first gen either, just felt like a throwback to bankruptcy times in all regards...a cheap feeling vehicle that would probably start falling apart prematurely.
  22. IMO the Sonic's issue was price.. It is not much cheaper than compact cars like the Elantra, Forte, Cruze etc.
  23. I just think the Equinox is small vs the class leaders so bigger options would be welcome. I guess the Acadia might be it like Santa Fe/Sorento third row optional offerings. What ever happened to the Bronco..
