Mercedes-AMG Unveils the CLA 35: Comments
frogger replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in New York International Auto Show (NYIAS)
Hatch is sold in Canada. It looks ok, I don't think any cars that start out under 35 grand are particularly nice to look at, more than just "decent" aside from the Mustang, some Mazdas maybe. -
Lake Huron has my favourites, from the rugged Bruce Peninsula To the more conventional Sauble beach.

Doesn't get much better than that, good money too at his numbers. Just really busy.

Sofyan seems to be impressed

Yeah Audi sold almost 1.5 million vehicles combined in China and Europe, ~225,000 in USA.

How often do you change your oil?

I figure if I get 4 years out of brakes these days (rotors+pads) based on current traffic and mileage I'm content. It took a few years to settle on a shop I trust in this neighbourhood for maintenance, worth it since I can just walk there or home when dropping the car off. -
I remember starting out on the Vic 20 and then the Commodore 64 and Amiga before going to the MS Dos/Windows world.. Typing out the code they included in the back of Compute! magazine... https://www.commodore.ca/commodore-gallery/commodore-compute-magazines-issue-1-through-43/ Picked up a dirt cheap used Wii U and bunch of kid friendly games for my 5 year old a few weeks ago.

Toyota News: Next Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ in Development

He did not put any money down on one, has a few kids under 3 years old now so he hasn't really had much time to drive his fun car lately, let alone think about what is next. -

My cousin bought a Tesla roadster when he sold his startup at age 27, then a few years later switched to a 911, which almost road like a luxury car in comparison. Now his fun car is a McLaren. -

Anywhere between 5,500 to 6,500 miles as I can get to it with whatever synthetic is cheap. Wife's car between 12-18 months as I can get to it since it only does 3,000 or so miles a year. -
I'd rather it evoked thoughts of something like an S5 Sport back if it was ditching the Art and Science lines and going the fastback route than an Accord..

Hopefully like the Honda it looks better in real life vs pics.

Hyundai News:2020 Hyundai Sonata Gets a New Platform

I wouldn't expect much in the way of improved power train options, the new Santa Fe is quite nice inside and out too but has the same old meh engines. -

The UI on the music apps is sad. I'm part of a family plan with internet strangers to keep the costs down for both Spotify and Tidal , and both apps are kludgy IMO. Maybe that is the price to pay for having so much music available at your fingertips. The other advancement I'm happy about is battery life. Getting 6-8 hours screen time with the newer flagship procs is such a boost over the 3-4 from a few years back.

With every version upgrade of Android I'm noticing less features that interest me being added. For my use anyways. Last feature added I found pretty useful is tap to pay, only for when I walk to the stores in the neighbourhood and forget my wallet. Luckily in Canada now, service providers cannot sell carrier locked phones.

As far as minivans go I think only the Sienna has it currently. -

Ugh, the MDX is dated and due for a refresh but performance wise it probably easily outdoes this and probably the two row GM CUV's ("Camaro" Blazer) with this engine as well. -
Arteon also has the "hatchback" thing going for it. On VW Canada's site you can build and price the Arteon, as long as it is the Execline AWD model for 48 grand... Or about what a Stinger GT or base A5 Sportback go for.
-
Wow remove or cut the cladding by 75% please... Other than that, it works. Not sure how much cheaper they can price this than the CX5..

I prefer the VW front and rear end and steering wheel, but other than that the Hyundai seems just as nice, that dash looks class leading. Powertrain will will be the weak point.
