  1. Hard to believe this is the same compnay that came up with the bland 500/Montego and the invisible triplets, Granada/Monarch/Versailles. Wait, I meant Fusion/Milan/Zephyr. This is what Ford needs in the US.
  2. A friend I had in Maryland had a '67 coupe. The color could best be described as "Majestic Amethyst", the new-for-'06 purple haze color on the GMs. I know GM had a similar color back then... dag, what was it called? Something "orchid"? I forget now.
  3. I wish the photo could be upsized... I'd like to know what the vehicle is behind the Pontiac.
  4. Yes, he built and sold hot rodded Corvairs as new cars, I think they were called Fitch Sprints, or something like that.
  5. Yeah, I knew this one. My mom's '72 Malibu had the same shifter. A guy she dated had a Burnt Orange '72 Monte Carlo with black top and black cloth bench interior. The first-gen is my favorite... followed by the '81-'87.
  6. He's prolly the same guy who made some hot Corvairs.
  7. In front of any brick building in New Orleans.
  8. The HHRs look "custom", with that "chopped" roof. They're cool.
  9. Should be covered under comprehensive coverage. It's an '06, too... see the little "GM" emblem there?

    8th gen civic

October Motor Trend is at the newsstands. It has an article with full photos of the new Civic.
  11. I'm with you, Harley... I LOVE that stuff. I could pour over that stuff for hours... and old car ads too...
  12. Impala Pete, has someone been a bad influence on you? You sound like another regular poster here. http://www.cheersandgears.com/public/style_emoticons//AH-HA_wink.gif I filled the truck up Sunday at $2.43/gal. Tell your bike I'm happy for him, dave. Life is too short.
  13. Welcome aboard, NCR. Be prepared.
  14. Is that an AMC concept? I don't have the faintest idear.

    Ages?

That's a beautiful Ford... (Apologies to Impala Pete!) http://www.cheersandgears.com/public/style_emoticons//AH-HA_wink.gif
  16. Last fall I was driving in York, PA, when this guy pulls next to me in a semi crappy like '86 V6 Camaro and he yells out : " I like those trucks! Does it have a V8?" I said "No." He said "A V6?" I said "No, a 5 cylinder!" He said  Dumbass... so I had to put 'er in 2nd gear and leave his ass in the dust.
  17. ooo... burrrrrn...... http://www.cheersandgears.com/public/style_emoticons//AH-HA_wink.gif

Who was it that told me Josh gave Harry a cam show once? I forget who it was now...

    Ages?

I was born the year the Chevy Chevelle and Ford Mustang made their debuts. 1980 I think it was. http://www.cheersandgears.com/public/style_emoticons//AH-HA_wink.gif
  20. The Corsa also comes as a stretch model, with a 120-inch overall length, not pictured above.

    GMC Acadia?

I don't like the sound of that. I personally believe the Northstar should remain Cadillac-only.
  22. Another reason why Pontiac so badly needs a Kappa four seater at the entry level... with baby '08 GTO looks and speed parts for the Ecotec coming on strong, how could it not destroy all others in its class? I mean it's perfect for drifting. Can you imagine a little Tempest coupe with a supercharger and the Solstice's polished 18" rims? WOW! :o
  23. To be honest, I like the looks of the new Rio. The wide black moldings remind me of a few current Renaults, I think. The interior looks fine to me, it's got a radio and HVAC controls... what else is there? In these pics it seems to compare favorably to an Aveo. Overall, it looks nicer than an Aveo, imo. EDIT: just went to the website. The hatchback is quite a neat little thing in orange. With 5 speed it should be a fun runabout... and get close to twice the gas mileage as my truck...
  24. I never heard that... I know the '58 was a stand-alone situation. The '59 and '60 look to me like they just have the normal year-to-year facelift.
  25. They're not my cup o'tea, but hey, as it was said before, to each his own, I guess.
