  1. The 2007 Equinox starts at $22865 which is nearly $1500 more than the Vue. I don't ever see Chevrolet dropping the price of the Nox below the new Vue. To do that would require a complete rethink of the vehicle and deleting the std V6 and 5 speed automatic/ABS/cruise etc. Just like the new 2008 mileage standards which will have people in a dither when comparing old vs new, the 2008 Vue is going to look mighty pricey to those comparing the 2 years base prices, even if it does have more std equipment.
  2. Yes I have sat in numerous examples. If only the gray part didn't exist it would be a very welcome change. If i have to live with another damn gray interior in a vehicle i'll go bonkers. The blue tint along with wood trim and silver accents bring a welcome change to the lifeless boring colorless interiors of this dreadful decade.
  3. At up to $64000 this car would barely crawl off dealer lots in NA I fear. And with such bland styling and a gas swilling V8 and traction limiting RWD only, it would go virtually unnoticed. At least our NA Buicks have a little chrome, port holes, door trim, reasonable price tags, better mileage and traction enhancing FWD thus giving them more appeal to everyday folks. It's just that Buick needs to make what it has more competitive in terms of std equipment, engine/trannys with more than 197 HP and 4 speeds etc. I feel this car would be better off as a Cadillac but with more eye appealing style of course. Just leave that gorgeous interior intact.
  4. Dropping the gas saving 5 speed manual is dumb. Making all this stuff std equipment is going to price this rather bland looking crossover out of many buyers hands and with so much extra curbweight and the now std 4 speed automatic, gas mileage will suffer. This is yet another classic case of a GM one step forward and 2 steps back.
  5. If this is the new design language for Buick, thank god it will only be in China. Not only is it way too small but the front end is just odd, the side of the vehicles redefines plain and the boat tail look was my least favorite Riviera in the past. There is very little Buick on the exterior of this car aside from a few sprinkled on cues and the interior is way too radical and needs to be toned down. And are those tiny side view mirrors meant for bugs to look into?
  6. I agree 100%
  7. Red is Pontiac, shiny chrome is Buick!
  8. So now we can watch the current Impala/GP and LaCrosse wither for a year longer as GM will just keep decontenting them and shuffling colors/options around while the world passes by and Toyota keeps growing.
  9. I just think many of todays gen don't have a clue anymore and all these execs that make these asinine decisions really just don't know any better. There is still creative talanted minds out in the world but they are fewer and farther apart.
  10. It would really have been nice to see the Aura 3500 with a 6 speed automatic option and a low cost 2.4 Ecotec for around 19K.
  11. What a typical lame 2008 lineup from the General. So we get XM Satelite radio as std which few people I know continue to subscribe to after the first 3 months is up, the same old 1996 era 3400 in the Equinox for the 4th year in a row, no 6 speed in the regular Silverados, less sporty packages to choose from(Xtreme) and more model lineup confusion that would have Einstein bewildered.
  12. The other thing these idiotic car manufacturers are doing is eliminating bodyside protective moldings on everything in sight which leaves the sides of the cars naked, unprotected and plain/generic looking. The Impala and G6 join the G5/Cobalt in dropping the moldings as standard equipment and instead bundling them up in some expensive option package. Oh but we now get XM satelite radio as std equipment but antilock brakes are still optional on most of these models but they have XM! The idiots making these asinine decisions should all be issued pink slips for utterly stupid decsions. And the person in charge of leaving the 3800 to wither to it's rather pathetic 197 HP state in the flagship Lucerne should be hung by his toenails.
  13. The decay of America continues.
  14. I would like both much better if they had less bland, nondescript side views.
  15. I have yet to hear anyone complain about getting rid of side door protection. In fact customers have been bitching up a storm at my local Toyota and Pontiac dealer about the lack of bodyside moldings on the new 07 Camry, Avalon and Rav4 and the G6 and G5 coupe. Yahoo and Edmunds consumer ratings often site this as a complaint. It got to the point that Toyota reinstated the option on the said 3 cars as a $195.00 option and 75% of the vehicles being ordered are coming this way. And 9 out of 10 G5 coupes are being ordered with the package that contains the moldings while the G6 coupes can't be ordered with them at all and sit languishing on the lot. People that didn't get the protection are going to be really ticked when they see all the dents, dings and scrapes all along the side of the car when it's time to trade and a chunk of change is deducted for bodywork. I have already seen 05-07 Monte Carlos, Avalons, Bimmers etc on used car lots that look like total $h! when you get a side view of the car which makes them so much desirable in the descriminating customers eyes when picking out a clean car. And when I look at a car, I want to see something other than a huge slab of plain looking sheetmetal, something needs to break up the endless slab of blah!
  16. Okay so they add much needed standard equipment to the LaCrosse but totally neglect the Lucerne and just give it std XM radio. How incredibly lame is this. Expect market share to shrink even more for 2008.
  17. Needs the 6 speed automatic paired to the 3500 like in the 08 Vue. COme on GM get that darn 6 speed automatic rolling.
  18. I'm shocked to not see "bodyside molding delete" as these stupid companys have been doing for the past 5 years. Propably next year.
  19. Whats wrong with some blue in the interior? People are getting sick and tired of gray, black and tan as the only choices.
  20. I find it almost sereal that GM is spending money on technology like this yet I would be willing to bet my eye teeth that the 2008 DTS and Lucerne will STILL have 4 speed automatics and the Lucerne will continue to be powered by the detuned 197 Hp 3800 and that a telescoping wheel won't be available on CX, CXL and CXS varients. GM seems to be on a gadget kick these days with little to no money spent on powertrian developments.
  21. Now they just need to wrap some visually exciting sheetmetal around these new chassis like the current Aura.
  22. Yet another bland Asian coupe with no style.
  23. Now that would make a nice looking NA entry level offering for Buick for those that are tired of paying for $80.00 gas fillups. Bring this model here now and watch sales go up for Buick.
  24. The changes to the Impala are completeley lame. The 2 best colors are being deleted. Bodyside moldings now cost extra! The best wheels in the form of the machine faced 17" 5 spoke rims on the LT3 and LTZ are being replaced by plastic wheel covers! No more 8-way power drivers seat on LS and LT models but XM radio is now standard. GM should fire there future product planners right now and hire someone with some common sense. This is what the 2008 Impala changes should read: Std 3500 V6 upgraded to 224 HP like Aura/G6/Malibu Classic Bodyside moldings left as std equipment on all models New grille on Impala LS, LT and LT2 LT3 model deleted and same content moved to LT2 Base 16" alloy wheels redesigned Glovebox light added to LTZ and SS models Overhead storage added as std on all LTZ and SS models LTZ with new sport tuned suspension Floor shift indicators now included on all models with bucket seats and console
  25. The interior I will agree is light years better than todays Buick offerings. But the exterior! I don't see how it is so much better than what we have now expect maybe the headlights look nicer than the LaCrosse. From the pillar back it is just a holden clone with no Buick styling cues whatsoever, not even port holes, bodyside moldings or wheel flares. Exterior wise this is just not a Buick to me. It could pass for the foreign car that it is. The underpinnings are surely impressive and it would be awesome having a RWD full sized Buick with a tire sdredding V8 back in the loop but it needs to look more like a Buick. Are todays designers so clueless as to take a 90's design, decontent the door trim and character curves and lines and call it modern and all new. It seems that todays generation is so used to boring dull Asian styling that anything goes!
