  1. Whatever they call it, Ford needs to do something in the small car market fast. Chris
  2. Much, Much better actually. This car sells in Europe for a reason, it should do fine here. It is still well below the average cooper sales price, as well as the Volvo C-30. Methinks this car will be a hit once people find out about it. Chris
  3. For those of us in our forties buying such as car, the seats look much better than the psudo racing seats ususally put in such cars. Chris
  4. Odd but true, I am starting to like the Caliber in SRT-4 trim. It should be a hot car. Chris
  5. Exactly. Esp. the Compass and Caliber. Chris
  6. ...although I have to agree with Dodgefan, the Intrepid/LHS series are nice handeling cars. I would own a 9C1 Caprice in a second if they came with a manual. They are cool cars. Chris
  7. Toyota and Honda have become overconfident. Chris
  8. My Safari is 11 years old and runs like a new vehicle. My mechanics Astro van has 350,000 Plus on it without having drivetrain problems or a rebuild. Chris
  9. Agreed 100%. Chris
  10. Actually glad to see GM doing so well. They are bringing out great new products and people are responding. The HHR and the CTS are two of my fav. GM products right now and both are doing fabulous. It is worth noting that the main cars in the same class as the HHR (xB, PT, Element) are all tanking while the HHR is picking up buyers. Love it. Chris
  11. ...are we suprised that the Caliber is dropping? Chris ...and yes the whole PT line will de dropped next year.
  12. Wonderful. Hope more people come here. Chris
  13. Sad. Chris
  14. Savannah is one of the nicest cities in the US to live in if you have money, from what I hear. Will be a real change of pace from Delaware. Can't get more old south than Savannah. Chris
  15. Congrats on the job thing, sorry about the bad day, dude. Chris
  16. Perhaps the best way to dump Chryselr products would be to rent the Cougar Ace (the ship that capsized in the Pacific with the Mazdas on board) Cut a big ass hole in the side and repeat the Mazda thing, only fill the ship with Chrysler products instead. Agree on the Nitto and Compass, as well as the ugly, ugly Caliber. Ditto on Crossfire, Pacifica, commander, Aspen, Durango, etc. And yes, kill the damned Sebring Also. Preferably as soon as possible. Chris
  17. Nor should it. Toyotas marketing people really missed the boat on that one. Chris
  18. The general economy is still weak, and I expect to see further slides in sales. Glad to see the general is holding flat. Chris
  19. Again, quoted for truth but in reality gm is not going to get rid of the UAW. Not gonna happen. Chris
  20. Look at it this way...if we are wrong (and global warming is a hoax) and we take action, it is at worst an inconvenience. If global warming is true and we take no action, we could become extinct as a species. I'd rather take action than become extinct. Chris
  21. Used to drive by the Doraville plant every day when I lived in Atlanta. I moved back to Columbus Ohio mainly because of Traffic, noise and the cost of commuting. The job I had was as an electrical foreman and I was expected to be able to work anywhere in the metro area, from Douglasville to Villa Ricca to Gainsville to Peachtree City to wherever...so commuting wa a huige problem. If I could live in one part of Atlanta and work there (like live/work Peachtree city area, etc,) I would live in Atlanta in a minute. Georgia is probably the most under-rated state in the country...lived briefly in Augusta and almost moved again to Savannah. When I die one of the great regrets of my life will be that I never stayed in Georgia. That being said, Atlanta has its downsides. A huge unasimilated Hispanic population, traffic, the cost of decent housing inside of the outerbelt, public schools as a general rule are not that good (although a few are excellent). Upsides would be great professional sports, eight million great places to eat out, Chastain park is beautiful, people are friendly, winters are mild... Just my two cents on the place... Chris
  22. Glad to see that nice IROC ragtop, mighty mouse. Figure I should have about 6 to 8 thou saved by spring and I am looking/checking out the market now. I've seen a million beaten to death Camaro's of the third gen flavor come up for sale but very few really nice cars. Chris
  23. Getting rid of the UAW is a fantasy at this point, boys. Besides, if the union did go and wages were cut to the level people want them cut to, there would be bad blood between the work force and GM for decades. Chris
  24. How hard is it to find decent third gen camaro's that haven't been destroyed or rusted to death...talking about maybe a V-8 Manual car... Chris
  25. Color is nice, but I am with Fly, I don't like the styling. Chris
