  1. Thanks for posting this...I'm going to show it to my soon to be driving teenaged son and daughter... Chris
  2. ..perhaps CARBIZ you didn't like the HHR because of your height. IIRC you are 6'2 and I am 5'11. I find everything falls into place nicely in the HHR. Chris
  3. Someone clue me in on why the interior of the HHR is so bad. On the nicer models I find it really nice, and my wife finds the interior materials to be very similar in quality to the Cobalt SS (another car we would like to own in addition to the MINI). For its price point the HHR is a damned fine automobile, I think. Most of the owners I talk to seem to be very happy with them. Chris
  4. Wow, I like small cars but not that small. It would be interesting to see what a Cobalt, MINI, or a Volvo C-30 would do in a crash like that. Chris
  5. Actually they are two very different vehicles aimed at two very different markets. But as Carbiz pointed out, GM can't do everything at once. They have to bide their time and use their limited funds/talents to update one platform at a time... The HHR is probably 15-18k out the door with rebates, incentives, and discounts, wheras your average MINI is prob. 25k out the door. 10k per vehicle will add a lot in a small vehicle. I love the Mini and want to own one, but the HHR is on my "short list" of cars I'd look at also... Chris
  6. Aveo needs an update for sure, with the price of gas and CAFE GM needs to build a sexy small car (Minifighter anyone?) Malibu is just plain HOT. Chris
  7. Actually found out the hard way, Safari is 5 on 5, which is different than the S-10... Chris
  8. Preach it, Brother. Chris
  9. Oh, yeah, and if your going to have a Mazda in the sig make it a Miata or your Millinia.... Chris
  10. ...hopefully you will keep the Cutlass for a good long time. They are great cvars and I am jealous... Chris
  11. What is coming next in the auto performance world is anyones guess. The Big boats of the 50's were replaced with the full sized muscle of the early sixties followed by the smaller muscle cars and pony cars, which were followed by the mullet generation Camaro's and Mustangs, which were followed by the Japanese tuner cars...the only constant we have is change. Supply of petroleum and energy will kill off the factory V8 muscle car if the government does not. The best thing is to enjoy and preserve the older v8 cars and to develop new, more fuel efficient muscle cars. That Camaro you describe may very well be the 2019 version... Chris
  12. I'd like to buy a used set of alloy wheels for my Safari van, which has a slightly different bolt pattern from the full size chevrolet van. Does anyone here know if S-10 wheels will cross over directly? Chris
  13. ...exactly. The HHR is still miles ahead of the Caliber SRT-4.
  14. The interior is a big step up, but I'm still blind as to why these things are popular. For the money, there are so many better cars. Chris
  15. ....but I see a very real downside to Camry sales as a result of this thing. It really does deserve the positive press it is getting. Chris
  16. White is one of my fav. colors for a car and also one of the hardest colors for a car to look good in. Your right, I've seen the Malibu in white and I think it looks fabulous. Chris
  17. I disagree. To me I would reject the Altima on looks alone... Chris
  18. This would be fair and a great idea. Chris
  19. My faith in humans to learn anything from their mistakes iat an all time low... Chris
  20. Even 4 cyl performance cars with small bore such as the Miata and the Cooper S won't meet 35 mpg. Chris
  21. Amazing the level of stupidity of the human race.... Chris
  22. Some days I wonder how much we'd help the automotive gene pool if we just lined up every single person who worked for Nissan and shot them. Yet to see many Nissan products that I am that impressed with...esp. from a styling standpoint. Chris
  23. Ditto on the Compatriot triplits, Matrix and Element. Esp. the Compatriot.... Chris
  24. Thanks for your comments. Chris
