  1. the enclave, acadia, outlook, and "traverse" will all be chasing very different income and customer groups. Yes i see the acadia/enclave being cross shopped, same dealerships, but different customer bases. traverse/outlook? no. how many saturn buyers really would want a chevy? enclave/traverse? no. different income brackets. acadia/traverse? maybe, due to styling/interior differences. but really GMC exists b/c it's a customer base that doesn't want everyman's chevy. as long as it looks cool, and is priced right, there's no reason why it won't be a success. this market is huge, and there are tons of competitors. RX, Highlander, Pilot, MDX, Murano, FX, Fairlane, CX-9, etc.
  2. look carefully the rear windows are different from the other lambdas. only the doors and sideview mirrors, and sloping rear roof seem very similar. the quarter panels, fenders, front, and rear all look completely different. I hold judgement til i see the real deal, specially if the interior is supposed to be unique to Chevrolet. it does look shorter to me, but that could just be the pics.
  3. i dunno, as much as i don't like the idea, this car looks pretty good. Is that a "new" pontiac logo on the steering wheel? it looks faceted differently.
  4. i just realized i've been in that picture that's been photoshopped, is in jax. coool.
  5. i thought the silver would be too plain, but it's really hot. i think that's my color.
  6. they should do away with the wood. period. it would make the brown leather look better. can't wait for the new AURA.
  7. haha, suckers! and people who life to visit their VW dealers at least once a month.
  8. honestly this whole Volt vs Prius thing, should not be taken lightly. GM and the companies need to guard the secret of the Volt's systems and batteries, like it's a national security secret. this could be one of their saving vehicles, and if the toyota-ians get a hold of it, it would be a hot mess.
  9. nothing we didn't expect. the G6 is critical to Pontiac's success, it's too bad the CAFE is holding it in limbo.
  10. i'm glad there is no Aura wagon in the works anymore! a coupe would be interesting, but i think they should hold off until the new Aura (2010) drops, then make the coupe off that.
  11. all looks good except the GMT-700 info. 2012? that better be one heckuva MCE in 2009! i didn't know the HHR was goin non-retro?
  12. not a fan of this idea. booooooo.
  13. looks pretty decent to me! althought i would have thought a couple of items in the lux 1 and 2 packages would be standard on a lux car. the rainsense wipers, 6-cd, back-up sensors, etc. EDIT: Universal home remote should be standard on every vehicle GM makes period. i see most of these selling in the 42-47k range, perfect if you ask me. is it asking too much for rear seat heaters? hmmmm?
  14. my god! SOMEONE at Chrysler is taking their smart pills. the aspen and commander were DOA anyways. it's like Daimler approved them, just to screw Chrysler over; like a conjoined twin who keeps stabbing their other half, in an attempt to kill them, not realizing it was screwing over both of them.
  15. ugly. and expensive. who's throwing down 2mil+ for a car?
  16. it's kinda neat looking, in fact i think it's better proportioned, especially in the rear, than the new 3-series coupe. but the interior is gross. it doesn't flow, it looks cheap, and they couldn't have put a little more metal on the dash? after loving the new CTS dash, anything that isn't symmetrical really, really bothers me.
  17. the Bel-Air was ugly. period. Velite? All that is important is Buick get a large sedan (rwd) and that the STYLING of the Velite now lives on in the Enclave, Lucerne, and future buicks. Thank god for the velite, it gave us Buick's new look. Lutz has said a couple of times a CIEN is much more realistic than a Sixteen. It'll be much cheaper to build, and even cheaper if there is a mid-engined C7 as well. It's in the cards. Just because Lutz said "no sixteen" doesn't mean there won't be a new 70k-ish cadillac super-sedan. don't read to far into it.
  18. bingo. nothing about this is different, cool, or cute enough for the market VW is chasing.
  19. finally there would be a CIEN!
  20. cadillac sales: escalade sales ESV & EXT are way up, STS/CTS sales are down. bad reporting. author fails to note this. Really? 2009? But the Escalade hybrid looks ready to play now?
  21. friend of mine put some gear in the below-bed compartment. he then proceeded to load up his "truck" with lots of stuff from his apt to drive to his new place. suddenly, the keys were no where to be found. the were in the below-bed compartment. everything had to be removed from the truck to get the crap out of the bottom. stupidest design ever.
  22. Realistically, even if saturn had more dealerships they'd probably still be doing less sales than the GMC dealerships. GM is right, people walk into a GMC dealership expecting to pay a premium price for better materials and image. the Acadia is priced perfectly for that. The outlook is a bit pricey for the saturn crowd. You didn't prove anything, the GMC is still better selling. All you proved was selling unit to dealship ratio and surprise there are fewer Saturn dealers. And where did you get 3000? I've only seen the amount of GMC dealers at ~2500
  23. the sportcombi is so hot! i like it. um, the side pic of the convertible made me realize how BIG the rear is, in a bad sorta-way. why does the convertible still have rub strips? do they somehow help the structural rigidity?
  24. i wonder if the US-spec taillights will look like that. i like the added brightwork on the interior. I don't know what people are complaining about, it looks pretty good. love the new hood and grille. AND the sport combi looks much cleaner since they removed that door stripe. it really does "age" the convertible.
