  1. What, exactly, was wrong with the STS again? I mean, it got excellent reviews and it was a very competitive product. If you want to go on sales numbers alone, then you have to stop playing favorites and include that last gen SRX that you so dearly love in the 'pile-o-losers' as well.
  2. Holy Lincoln MKS, batman... Either way, my hat is off to Hyundai and Kia. They seem to be doing it best these days. I read somewhere that they have been cherry picking Detroit's best designers for as few years now. Maybe that has something to do with it. Of course, we all know from firsthand experience that the best designers in the world can't accomplish $h! unless the rest of the company shares the same vision.
  3. LOL Yeah... And you, of all people, should know how effective that system is. Especially since they are considered living entities.
  4. I'll be there either Friday or Saturday... Or both. I'll probably be passing out fliers about my Relay For Life car show to the local clubs at least part of the time. It is about 15 minutes from my house after all. Too bad it's supposed to F**KING RAIN all weekend. I ab-so-lutely HATE (!!!) rain and it seems to rain EVERY damn time I want to go to a car show. Last 2 Auto Fairs have been rained on... This weekend was a big show, RAINED OUT and in typical fashion, next weekend looks like it'll feature rain as well... Startin' the year off GREAT!!! (I'm *** this close to moving to SoCal just to get away from the rain that happens every DAMN weekend here)
  5. Your beloved division is the one that designed it... It's not our fault we had to take an old dog and make it VERY impressive with our little rebel/hot rod division.
  6. +1 Not to mention, this shows what a DUMB idea it is/was to let go of Saab... I was afraid this would happen. But, with the new technology agreement, it looks as if GM is rethinking giving up Saab.
  7. Not a clue what I am.... I know that most settlers from in the Appalachians were either Scottish or Irish and I do have reddish facial hair. (LOL) I also know that my family originally settled in Indian land and my last name has a sort of indian vibe to it. I also know that I'm huge and a lot of people say that I look German. So, who the hell knows? (I'd love to actually research my family someday.
  8. Reminds me a lot of the Vibe, from that angle... Except without the appeal.
  9. I would agree... Excepting the CTS-V
  10. Excellent version of the song (which is hard to find on YouTube... Most metallicA bits are of horrible quality)
  11. It certainly has more character than the Orlando... And I've always been a fan of the Groove. Personally, I think GM should sell both the Orlando and an updated HHR. IMO, they're different niches that appeal to different people. The market for small crossovers is going to grow substantially, so I think GM could support both. Hate to , but I could use this (the need for both vehicles and the bland styling of the Orlando and apparently all future Chevrolets) as another argument to keep Pontiac around.
  12. I think corporations should be held accountable for their actions. (And yes I did know all of that, it's one reason I do not believe in the green movement)
  13. +1 Which is why I always LAUGHED at the $10/gallon fuel "scare" stories. You'll never see that happen because our society cannot sustain it. The economy will continue to peak and crash so long as overpopulation continues to happen and alternatives aren't developed. Eventually, people will grow desperate. At which point, the price of fuel will be the LEAST of your concerns. (theft, violence and war will consume us all)
  14. Pretty scary just how clueless these people seem to be about a lot of things... Then again, they ARE government officials, so "clueless" comes with the territory. (People accuse Detroit car executives of being locked in a vacuum, check out DC)
  15. Love those Saab wheels too...
  16. Hey... Wait a minute. Someone edited my post to include content... ("Freakin' ninjas, and your... and your... sex parties!" -- Peter Griffin adaptation)
  17. Exactly.. That's why, in my To GM plan, I include the HHR as a "halo" small vehicle for GM. The possibility is endless. As people start moving to smaller cars which most of them hate/dread, the HHR can be a shining star of style and flavor in an otherwise BLAND-TASTIC set. Americans hate small cars and one of the reasons is because they look like $h! (The small cars we GET here, anyway) The HHR can use it's strong styling to buck that trend and it can foster very loyal buyers because of that (Witness hyperv6, who said he originally didn't like the car) CASE IN POINT: I agree 110%... I told a "tuner" friend of mine about the Turbo ECOTEC and he gave me a deer-in-the-headlights look. I said; 'haven't you ever seen the HHR SS or Cobalt SS?' The answer was NO... Same thing with a gearhead friend of mine who owns a Denali. He hated the HHR, until I showed him the SS and told him the performance numbers. Personally, if I were looking for something small again, the HHR SS would be in my driveway in a heartbeat. I love the little thing, it has TONS of character and really is a UNIQUE offering in the market. No one else makes anything, that doesn't suck, comparable to this. I was hopeful for the SRT-4, but it seems cheap and not a very good performer (overall)
  18. Careful there, sir... You're making too much sense. People who make sense here at C&G get attacked for being "paranoid, narrow minded or EXCITED!!!!!!!"
  19. **Fixed
  20. Ground hogs seem to LOVE squash... I learned that the hard way a couple of years ago.
  21. Joined: 10 November 2001 <--- Old man winter of C&G...
  22. BTW, that would be squirrels...
  23. This is called being PROACTIVE instead of REACTIVE. Personal example: I know that my neighborhood is a dangerous place sometimes. Therefore, I carry my computer bag with me at night (when I get off, from 12am to 4am) with my hand in it's pocket (on a weapon) I also watch the ground (for shadows of people that might be coming at me from all directions) Am I paranoid? Some might say so... But I'm not so paranoid that I can't function (which is the true meaning of paranoid) But I'll guarantee you one thing. I won't be blind-sided and robbed without one helluva fight because of the proactive safety measures I am taking to try and increase my chances of success or even survival. (Then again, I've always been a very calculated person)
