  1. As much as I hate Opel I don't think this is a wise move. Without Opel global GM is dead.
  2. But that's it's intrinsic beauty... americans are so dumb that they won't realize that.... Just like they won't realize (or care) that this is a slap in the face of GM. How much longer until the domestics are completely displaced in our culture? (I'm sure japan Inc. is counting the days and executing accordingly)
  3. :useless: I had a guy ask me if the Focus was new the other day... I hesitated (I didn't think he was serious) and then said.. "Nah, it's 8 years old." (I do maintain it well, I guess)
  4. +1 And for all of those who are giving GME the benefit of killing Zeta. Trust me; it was MUCH MUCH more than GME (bigger factors that they can't even affect) that killed the program. My question then is; why was GM so naive as to not see some of this stuff coming? (BTW, I never wanted a LARGE RWD car... Merely a RWD car. So don't think I'm placing blame here)
  5. Until the media informs them otherwise when they try to sink the car. (Just wait, whatever "positive" exposure it gets will either be begrudging or will come with the prerequisite attitude of "Why bother?!?") SEE: Escalade Hybrid reviews for this attitude. Apparently Toyota can charge premium prices for a compact hybrid and the develop a line of "sports" hybrid that don't see hardly any benefit in mileage and everyone is cool with it... Yet GM tries to make an IMAGE machine and apply the technology where it is needed and they're a joke.
  6. It'll be long gone by then... (Haven't you seen the new ) And that only took 30 SECONDS to disappear!!!
  7. If I had the means, I'd buy it in a heartbeat! Part of the great thing about a collector car is the stories and history that the car contains or has been a part of.
  8. I never specifically asked for a TA. Would that be cool? ABSOLUTELY! But honestly, I just want a commitment on Pontiac. I'd love to see the brand continue to exist with a G8 line (whole line OR just sedan) Solstice and Vibe or Delta II car. The BAD decisions GM makes now will harm them indefinitely. If GM abandons performance now; will they ever adopt it again? With the management "expertise" that they've shown? I highly doubt it. And that's why Chevrolet needs the most attention. But a niche Pontiac will not detract from that. European reviews of the Cruze have been largely negative...
  9. GM might as well get over it, because it ain't gonna happen... A muscle car.... In the worst economy since the depression... Amid the biggest political propaganda war against this kind of 'excess' to date... From a company that has such a damaged image that it may NEVER recover.... Need I go on?
  10. Just another GM hater trying to stir more sh*t. Typical media garbage. I find it funny that DC haas worked out this little scam though... 1) Hate on the automakers and look like they're fighting for the public. 2) Get pay dirt from the automakers to "change your mind" 3) Let the media destroy what's left of GM because they had to pay YOU to change your mind.
  11. In that case... Chris, can I have a $5000 loan? (I need to put a down payment on another car)
  12. I wouldn't expect anything less condescending... Just as I have the right to think poorly of arrogance and naivity. Actually, this is some really interesting research... I even found a study on increased perception of aggressive behavior in relation to facial hair.
  13. Gospel!
  14. I was wondering something similar... I wonder if the outsourcing of manufacturing jobs (which are usually physical) has lead to more obesity.
  15. Might as well get the party started with a bang and invite the BF to sign the papers with you. (Yep, I'm a vengeful ass) But seriously... Better to get these things out in the open now. Before you sign a lease or anything. That way you can save yourself a whole lot of potential drama in the future.
  16. LOL... Funny you should say that. I was yelling that from the roof tops when this car debuted (for Opel) but everyone here thought I was nuts.
  17. Camaro will be lucky if it pulls 50K per year now... (And that's not necessarily a bad thing)
  18. My thoughts exactly... You can definitely tell this was designed with asian influence (because of the comments above) instead of american. Because the details are great, but the overall design is lackluster.
  19. + My thoughts exactly...
  20. Option #3 Keep and enjoy....
  21. Not by choice... Most people buy that because it's a relatively cheap way to "join the club" (If you get what I mean) I'd like nothing morethan to see a WORTHY V6 pony car from Detroit (I think the F5 might actually be that car) But it doesn't mean I should have to buy it. Can you blame them?!?! Look at the $h! they had to choose from.... (Kids can't afford Astons and Ferarris, so that leaves them the 'ricer' choices) I disagree... So? Just because I own 2 classic Camaros doesn't necessarily mean I know $h! about restoring a classic Corvette.
  22. What's funny is that in some food deprived societies, 'fat' people are considered high class because they have the means to survive. Therefore, the fatter you are, the more desirable you are. I love shopping! (FOG lets his metrosexual side show a little) Of course, given my degrees, I REALLY enjoy people watching. The only exception is in my hometown where every methed up redneck I see wants to fight me because I'm bigger than them. (If I had a dollar for every jackass in a TapouT shirt that stared me down, I'd be able to afford a new Camaro SS)
  23. Didn't you know that if you're not homogenous now you don't fit in? It's the NWO of discrimination. You're not "cool" unless you fit a certain demographic.
  24. I've felt this way for years... This country became what I am not, so I abandoned it. I am very proud of what it was and those that made it what it was (and those that still ensure that I can be what I am, for that matter) As for GM... Well, I've kind of removed myself from the situation. I will always bleed GM, but I cannot allow myself to take a vested interest in their survival anymore. It's detrimental to my being. I guess I'll always have their history to reflect upon. (Like so many things in my life that I've watched become a thing of the past) It seems I was born 50 years too late. As far as my lifestyle... Not to sound like a psychopath or anything, but I have accepted the fact that I might become "outdated" to this society and that might impair my ability to live in it someday. Just know this; there are certain freedoms that I will NEVER give up and if anyone wants to try me, then I'll accept the outcome and they better be willing to accept that outcome as well. I really don't think it'll ever get THAT bad though... I think the world will self destruct before then
  25. I agree... And I believe that design has a lot to do with it. Pontiac effed up by trying to go after the BMW crowd with their current themes... You can't go from being a high schoolers wet dream to chasing a German marque in 2 years. The current cars looks good, but they're too conservative. GM needs to understand that you can convey emotion in a Pontiac design WITHOUT being tacky (Case in point: Solstice.. It's an instant classic) So now, the only Pontiac's that people aspire to own (the people Pontiac used to appeal to) are out of reach and the rest of the line is crap. As for the BMW guys... Sure, you'll get a few defects. But most of them are too brand loyal to give a "lowly Pontiac" a chance. Perfect niche division.. EVERYTHING is already developed. That's what made me so angry about how Pontiac was treated before the collapse. GM could've easily checked the boxes to completely rebuild the Pontiac line, but chose not to. Same goes for today. Zeta is here and viable until 2020, Delta II could EASILY spawn a rebodied and tweaked Cruze to battle the EVO, etc. Probably... Ever try to LIVE with a 4th gen Trans AM??! I absolutely LOVE the car, but I'm probably going to buy a Mustang just because it's easier to live with. I can't even fit into the Trans Am that well. (Which makes me GIDDY for the downsizing of the future ) FWIW, I never wanted a Camaro rebadge... I was thinking in terms of what the story meant for the future (as in a few years down the road, the trans am could return as a unique product) I would think that GM is done with rebadges (at least I hope)
