  1. I'd buy one in a heartbeat!!! Sounds like you're read into the media propaganda... The HHR offers more utility, more refinement and looks HELLA better than the PT. Not to mention I'm sure gas prices are fueling demand. If I were Lutz, I'd demand a public apology from all the "journalists" and ANALysts who tried to destroy the HHR before it was even shown to the public (Because they obviously knew ho much potential it had) Good to see DCX doing well. Analysts predict: DCX actual: Wow, looks like the analysts were spot on (sarcasm)
  2. The Milan is ALREADY at dealerships here. I hope the Fusion hits big... Damn Ford needs it. The media has almost successfully killed another Detroit automaker (Chrysler being the first)
  3. GM has finally done what many thought they couldn't.. They've established positive momentum at all of their divisions and it's only going to build. Chevrolet/Chevy Trucks is being FURTHER bolstered by the volume of the new Impala and HHR as well as the image of the new Z06. Next up: will be the GMT900s Cadillac is adding to it's momentum by introducing the new DTS and it's image by introducing the new V cars. Next up: GMT900 and CTS. Pontiac is seeing tremendous image boosting from the Solstice and will see further volume gains from the upcoming G6 cars and Torrent. GMC is seeing gains from it's Envoy Denali line. Next up: GMT900 (If any division were in a lull it would be GMC right now, or maybe Saab) Buick is seeing gains from the Lacrosse and launching the image and volume building Lucerne. Next up: Centieme Saab is seeing gains from the 9-7X, and an image boost from the SportCombi and will be further boosted by the new 9-5. Hummer is being boosted both in sales and image by the H3. Next up: H3T (?) and HX Saturn is being boosted in image by the Sky and in sales by the new Vue. Next up: Vue GL, Outlook, Evoke and Aura. This is the first time I can remember in a LONG time that GM had positive momentum at ALL of it's divisions. Sure, in some cases it isn't much and I'm sure the media will ratchet up the propaganda war (Just like they did and still have when GM was threatening 3 consecutive years of share gains) but if they can keep building on this and frantically putting out good product then this company might just be firing on all 8 cylinders again (After 20 or 30 years of hitting on 4 to 6)
  4. Even after all that the 330i beat it????? Talk about a bias.
  5. WOW! So when are the concepts coming? GMT900 will be the main attraction I guess? (The Escalade and the trucks) NO KIDDING! Geez, a YEAR... The current CTS will be way outdated by then.
  6. They'll do everything in their power to discredit, sway consumers away from and write off these SUVs Mark my words... They know GM will die without these trucks and although some might show mercy, the extremists (LA TIMES, CONSUMER REPORTS, EDMUNDS, CAR & DRIVER, CHICAGO TRIBUNE, NEW YORK TIMES, DETROIT NEWS, WASHINGTON POST etc) will not. Just look how important the F-150 was to Ford and look how Consumer Reports has panned it for example, citing both the Tundra and Titan as much better trucks. (which is obviously a lie to even import minded people)
  7. And how much coverage did this receive in the media?
  8. WOW!! He pulled that straight out of his ass! I love it when people who have NO idea about this industry feel obligated to spew their hot air all over the place. No surprise there, they are Californian afterall. And anyone who has been watching the industry for the last 2 years KNOWS that Calpers has it in for the Big 3 since they were at one time (might still be) in a legal battle. It's just 2 biased opinions.. that's all. But GM PR needs to get it's ass on the track nonetheless.
  9. That is gospel if I ever heard it! EXCELLENT POST! I guess Americans are to damn naive to see what they're doing or they just don't care one. Americans have been desensitized with all of this global economy shit preached by the media and money hungry politicians... They think; well, in order for other countries to prosper we need to suffer a bit, then ultimately we will prosper... That's the biggest load of garbage I've ever heard. Do these FOOLS honestly think that other countries have the welfare of the U.S in mind like we apparently do with their welfare? (Especially now, with the anti-America sentiment throughout the world) Do Americans honestly think that all this outsourcing will someday end and "Since we suffered for a few years, now we'll prosper again" NO! It will not. Once the industry leaves, it is gone.... Once our knowledge (The same technology and knowledge we've used to defend ourself) leaves it is GONE... Once our standard of living leaves IT IS GONE and there isn't a damn country in the world who will care whether Americans are starving, killing each other or dieing when it happens. I think that eventually (And it is gradually happening) America will be nothing more than a huge reservoir of consumers operated and controlled by other countries... Our money is being bought by Japan, our resources and businesses are being either bought, sold off to or rendered uncompetitive and dead by EVERYONE and China is waging a massive $$$ war (One which anyone with military officer training will tell you that they've been planning for years, and that the officers thenmselves have been trained on) to gain assets/American businesses to propel themselves past the US as the world superpower and therefore allow them to criple and control us. It might seem farfetched, but just look at the signs... Who said warfare had to involve conflict and people dieing? Oh, and this American stopped waiving his flag a long time ago, trust me. And that saddens and angers me but it's the truth.
  10. Unless you're the media. The you'd call them hypocritical, piece of junk oil nazis apparently.
  11. Maybe I'm mistaken, but I do believe the new agreement DOES in fact have increases. Not significant increases, but still increases. If not then what is the point of having a "new" agreement. Even still, the article should've been more clear that "automakers" also includes Nissan and the green do-gooder giant Toyota to name 2 instead of alm ost directly linking to the big 2.5
  12. Seems pretty "black and white" to me... Drive a GM, get a preferred parking space, drive an import then get out your speed walking gear and have fun braving the elements.
  13. I usually buy 2 different types at a time. Right now I have "Happy" which is probably my all time favorite and "Beyond Paradise" I figured I'd try the "Beyond Paradise" because my GF has the perfume version of it which I absolutely love. Her version smells like fresh honeysuckles (Those of you who were with us on the last board know how much I love the smell :) ) A couple of other standouts: "Curve" I used to wear because all the ladies LOVED it. I actually wasn't too fond of it myself. and "Chrome" seems to smell good, might have to pick some of that up soon.
  14. The SS should be the next large Chevrolet IMO and the Lacrosse would be an excellent halo for Buick as long as it kept all it's oddities like the clam shell hood, and the suicide doors. I've always thought GM should've produced this. I'd almost like to see a sporty Pontiac version more though. Agreed.
  15. Can I get an AMEN!?!?!?!?! Why don't they? Well now, that would cut into their paychecks and kickbacks. And we wouldn't want that would we? On that note, I find it funny that this country "claims" to be so anti-drug and anti-substance abuse, yet at the same time our major drug companies are allowed to DIRECTLY market to the consumer during prime time television, so much so that they have people ASKING their doctors for drugs that they might not even need. Even if the doctor says no, the consumer will continue to go to other doctors until SOMEONE fills the presciption. It's kinda like not allowing cigarette manufacturers to sponsor NASCAR, America's "family" "sport" then truning around and slapping Viagra on the hood of one car and countless alcohol/liquor advertisements on 10-12 other cars.... You know CARS... CARS that do 200mph. LOL.. Priceless... I also find it funny that these people who are preaching to save oil, the journalists, the politicians, the actors, the singers, probably go back to a garage full of toys that is bigger than my house and a 5,000 square foot climate controlled mansion. How much of our oil is sourced from North America again??? Aparently quite a bit judging by how the hurricanes effected gas prices (Or was that just on the refinery side?) Or better yet probably just gouging.
  16. It's not just the media it's Americans in general. Anytime something or someone becomes "larger than life" our jealous society starts trying to find ways to destroy that person/entity or tear them down. It happened with Standard Oil, it happened (is happening?) with General Motors, it's happening with McDonalds, it happened with Microsoft and it's beginning to happen with Wal-Mart with the ever growing "I hate Wal-Mart for [insert lame reason]" argument. It happens with actors/entertainers too My question is this; will it happen once foreign entities control all of our industries? Americans seem to be perfectly comfortable destroying all that is American, yet they seem to be very welcoming and beyond hospitable to foreign firms. I predict that once Toyota becomes number 1 (If they do, and I think they probably will still unless GM launches a MASSIVE PR war) that'll only be the beginning.... Maybe someday (Since these companies are considered "American transplants" by many and are even beginning to insist that they ARE American companies, to the delight of most) we'll see the asians completely displace Detroit to become the new big three. Detroit will either be run out of business or bought up. That's sad, but it very well could be reality someday especially with the media resentment of all that is domestic and the consumers general automatic passing over of all that is domestic. It happened with the Heavy truck industry, why not the car industry? The only American heavy truck builder left that I know of is the company that owns Kenworth/Peterbuilt, and they're not high volume when compared to the rest. Freightliner, Western Star, Sterling (originally Ford heavy trucks) & American LaFrance (Fire Trucks, for anyone who doesn't know) were all bought out by DCX. Mack is now owned by Volvo heavy trucks (which sold off it's car operations to Ford) Autocar is bankrupt.. That's all I can think of now. P.S. On second thought, I think International/Navistar is still American as well. Oh, and small electronics is another industry that Japan screwed us out of since we couldn't compete. Most of our companies in that field went bankrupt or got bought out. I think, this in fact, has something to do with the perception that Japanese products are better. Think about it; they're the ONLY country that produces high tech small electronics that we come in contact with everyday. Naive consumer: "Wow if my camera is so cutting edge, then I know by association that Japanese cars must be on the cutting edge of technology and therefore the best." You can laugh, but you know as well as I do it happens, it's called a schema or a shortcut thinking method from which we derive most of our stereotypes or assumptions, good or bad.
  17. One in the same in communism. Keep in mind, this is all opinion. I was very impressed though.
  18. Yes, but the ION photo is CGI, the CTS photo is not. I applaud Josh for not posting it (Eventhough it kills me to know that we'll probably lose the "numbers" to some other site who finds it and blows the cover while claiming an "exclusive") You won't be disappointed though and isn't the CTS supposed to be shown at Detroit this years anyway?
  19. It's a beautiful car plain and simple. Probably, IMO, the most striking sedan to come out of GM since the 50's or 60's As impressive if not more impressive than the Solstice, Sky and Tahoe. (The three most impressive "new" GM launches) Forget everything you know about Lexus and BMW. http://www.cheersandgears.com/public/style_emoticons//AH-HA_wink.gif B) LOL.. Toyota is their favorite ass to kiss. Except in China.. Their media is actually intelligent and SHUNS the product of a country and society that cost them thousands of lives. (A stark contrast to American media)
  20. BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Of course the media is buying into it. They're all mostly anti-Detroit or typical NAIVE, lie down for everyone Americans just like a large majority of the consumers.
  21. None of that matters in domestic land..... Only when comparing an import to a (naturally subpar) domestic.
  22. Excellent post. GM NEEDS to learn self promotion and how to portray an image. The media has been destroying what little ground GM made up for the last 3 years now. As far as biased media/politicians and their need to be catered to... Well, 1) They're lowsy and corrupt people so go figure and 2) GM needs to learn how to fight dirty. NO ONE is honest this day in age and GM is just getting screwed for being that way. GM needs to play dirty... Talk the talk, walk the walk and attack from the rear.
  23. First of all, that's just a flat out lie. Secondly, of course it is linked with ONLY the big three (Instead of including Toyota, Nissan and the others involved) what a surprise. Yet another jab... Clear to see where this "journalists" political views lie. Okay, as if you didn't alREADY notice, here's yet ANOTHER jab... ******* I think overall it's a good deal... Let's face it, GM and Ford are either going to have to be saved somehow or get MAJOR concessions from the UAW (Yeah, right) or they're toast. Any relief on Health Care would be great and 3% can't be that hard to achieve.
  24. Oh jeez.... [rolleyes]
  25. No mention of the forthcoming hybrids though.
