LOL @ the google bot which is now featuring a prominent "Mothers" ad. Seriously though, that is one fantastic looking car. I often consider the LS the last great Lincoln. (Not that the new Lincolns aren't great, but the should be Mercurys IMO and Lincoln should still be chasing BMW)

Meguairs is teh shiznit. I swear by it.

Very Nice! However, I see where Mazda ripped their new nose design from.

Sometimes, yes... But labels can also unite a promote a sense of esprit de corps.

That's where learning differs from inborn traits IMO. For example, as an INFJ, I'm not terribly trusting. However, I've learned how to appear "trusting" to people despite how I truly feel about them. Just my .02

I'm just happy to see that I'm not as crazy as I thought.... LOL. I made my GF read it because she often says she doesn't understand me and why I can be so cold and untrusting sometimes. In fact, that's what made me revisit the test. I took the complete test about a year ago for employment and was told that my personality type was rare. But I didn't look into it any because I wasn't that interested in it at the time. Then I took the mini version on Facebook about a week ago just for fun. I pulled out my official results from last year and discovered that the FB version was accurate. (Neat-o!)

Certainly a good idea.

My local dealer has a black manual GXP (which is sold) a red auto GXP and a silver GT sitting together on the lot. It was a beautiful site and I just had to stop in the other day and take pictures. This really does piss me off. The jury is out as to whether I will continue to support GM. I'm sure I will (because I have no other options) but I will never forgive and forget.

KMart offering assistance to unemployed Michigan residents
FUTURE_OF_GM replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in The Lounge
Nice! All of the coasties will smirk though since "Kay Mart" isn't a trendy place to shop any more. -
Wow. This one as well http://www.typelogic.com/infj.html

As if I needed yet ANOTHER reason to hate GM

66stang has some great ideas and re: PCS, I think whiteknight is spot on. PCS is as much of a detrement to this place as he is an asset sometimes

It helps about as much as 14 threads on [your mom]EXCITEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![/your mom] that insult MOST of the posters on this board. (Remember the survey that showed Pontiac was the leading brand of C&G readers?) It's neither here nor there, because nothing is going to change. I was merely that loud because people wanted me to be that loud. *shrugs* Hell, at one time I was getting so much 'fan mail' that Josh and Walt wanted to feature my 'rantings' on the front page. I never did it because I felt it was "too much" a lot of times. I played to that (Still do... If it isn't obvious when I'm doing it by now, then I don't know what to say) and established a persona that was an exaggerated version of what I really am. Sure, I'm very passionate about GM and that shows, but the rest is sarcasm and a twisted sense of humor. (Notice I don't use that style on any other board)

Imagine that. Rabid GM fans at the BIGGEST GM fan site on the internet. I mean, sure some passionate fans are annoying at times (definitely me included) but the fact remains that this is a GM site. Not merely an impartial "news site" We want what's best for GM, fair or not.

Yes and no... Josh was an admin with Walt, the rest of us were moderators. And yes, the site was at it's peak under his leadership but that wasn't necessarily JUST because of him. Hell, I recruited a TON of people here that eventually became mods and admins (Josh included -- I remember when he, I and Camino were all lowly posters over at SSRRS.com) I found this site via camaroz28.com (Walt was active there) and I promoted the hell out of it because I thought it was the coolest place on the net. (Those of you who are my friends on Facebook know how I like to use viral marketing) FWIW, I was a mod at GMInsidenews as well when Josh was helping out at that site. Then the GMI and C&G war started and my allegiances were here, so I quietly got the boot at GMI. Anyway... I'm not trying to get recognition, my point is that there were A LOT of very dedicated people that made this site what it was. Walt lost interest in the site and that started the slide. Then Brian came along and finished the slide into oblivion (including his "disappearance") As far as what rkmdogs said... I would tend to agree. Not that the site is overtly leftist (even though it is leftist, it isn't annoyingly so) But, the fact remains that unless you share the viewpoint of a select few here, you're pretty much ridiculed and unwelcome. That's why so many people who were so loyal (including myself -- I came back because I was asked) spend most of their time somewhere else. And it's not that the 'select few' are really worth reading, it's just that they're the ones that care enough to run everyone off. I'm not trying to piss anyone off and you guys are my online family. But it is what it is.

Town says miniature Fenway Park signs in yard must be taken down
FUTURE_OF_GM replied to Intrepidation's topic in The Lounge
Exactly... Sounds like they're just jealous because they don't have a hobby. America: "Land of the free -- FREE TO DO WHAT I TELL YOU TO DO" Opinion. I plan on doing that someday. To use for my personal garage. -
Chevy Volt rated at 230MPG in City!!!
FUTURE_OF_GM replied to Cmicasa the Great's topic in General Motors
Everyone needs to stop pissing and moaning. The 230 MPG is a conservative estimate, so i would assume that the 40 Miles is as well. Jesus... GM revolutionizes the car and they can't even get a break. All I've seen all day is media outlets and GM fanboys bitching and nitpicking everything to death. -
So yeah, not that much in the motor. I think it would pretty much be up to impulse then. If you like the car, go for it.
-
NICE! I remember when my family was hardcore tent and backwoods campers (we've sense gone soft and sprung for an RV, which I love) We packed up wet once, got home and re-assembled the tent in the back yard to dry. We then went out to eat and came home to realize that bears had shredded our tent. Later that week we saw a momma and some cubs in the woods and figured that the cubs had a blast destroying our tent. Anyway... Seems like you had fun.
-
The only thing that would be a sticking point for me is the 350. How much did you invest in rebuilding the motor? If that amount of money equates roughly to the mileage difference (less mileage on the car over all) on the Lincoln, then go for it. If not, then your current car is probably worth more. (Just MHO)

Sweden investigates possible Saab investor pullout (Reuters)
FUTURE_OF_GM replied to Croc's topic in General Motors
Ya know... I was just thinking to myself earlier today. GM has essentially managed to hang on to the brands it wanted to hve before the bankruptcy. Rumor is that even if Saab is sold, GM will retain 35% which could easily be increased in the future. Saturn, while not a "GM brand" is contracted from GM to produce cars indefinitely (The initial press release said that GM would continue to build the three remaining models and could build for the division after that) Opel/Vauxhall will likely eventually end up bak at GM. Before the sh*t hit the fan, GM wanted to sell Hummer and shed Pontiac and it looks as if those to brands are the only ones truly leaving the company at this point. Granted, all of this could change (since the industry changes overnight now) I'm cool with GM hanging on to Saab. They have a lot invested in the division and it's truly global, unlike a certain other luxury division that sells a couple thousand cars here in the states and pisses and moans every time it doesn't get it's way -
Kings Mountain is cool. There also seems to be a lot of history in both Camden and Rock Hill. I've just passed through those two, but I plan to go back and investigate further.
