So now the Equinox that the press RAVED about last year is "crude"?!?!?! Gotta SLAM the Equinox too (One of GM's few bright spots) make sure the WHOLE platform doesn't survive!!! Oh... So we're playing the TSB game with GM now?!?!?! So Toyota can have ump-teen TSBs and no one gives a $h!... But, Healy JUST HAPPENED TO LOOK FOR THEM ON A GM VEHICLE. What a surprise? An un-needed smart assed remark. The Torrent has been selling well, so I guess media mud slinging was a given (especially for embattled Pontiac)

Lutz comments on the Camaro and Pontiac version
FUTURE_OF_GM replied to hyperv6's topic in General Motors
From what I've been told, the GTO has a good chance of sticking around but it won't be a rebadged Camaro. It's an old trick of the trade that might just be the perfect compromise -
What an ass.... The CTS-V has been a WELL RECEIVED and WELL REVIEWED car. Sure, it has some shortcomings, but it's not a piece of junk. If it's a done deal, then why isn't it here? Undue insult.... Cadillac has been selling cars based on STYLE for decades... It's about time BMW got a clue. (Bangle finally helped them) lol... Of course! Because it'll never be an aspirational luxury car or anything... (What was I thinking? The press allowing the CTS to be on the same par as an import? (In their minds and print) YEAH RIGHT!) He's just another out-of-touch media type.

LOL. Just another tactic to bankrupt Detroit.... You'd think they might lay off given the circumstances (FOR FEAR of that never-gonna-happen american backlash against crappy asian cars) I hope Ford stands it's ground! Of course, IF this hits the press, I'm sure it'll be spun in Acura's favor. You know, on second thought, why doesn't Ford counter sue Acura and say that TSX is too similar to the STX trim on their F-150, or the Type S of the RSX is too close to the S-Type on Jaguars?
-
It DOES seem that this detuned version of the Northstar is more for refinement and novelty than anything else in this particular application... Oh well, maybe it was a compromise... Afterall, we wouldn't want top of the line Lucerne's tooling around with 195hp OHV V6's

THIS is the kind of AGGRESSIVE roll out and fighting that GM needs to do with ALL of it's introductions.. The consumer MUST be informed, if GM is to survivie, that GM is making GREAT products. And that goes double now with all of the anit-GM people in the press. I know GM can't allocate this big of an ad budget for every model. BUT, it CAN train it's dealers to BE BETTER and actually KNOWLEDGABLE about the product. It also can use the ad budgets very CREATIVELY (Examples: The Olympics, the G6 Oprah stunt and the free rides given when Toyota closed down the park in Chicago)

So much for that asian LIE, eh? Love how it's biting them in the ass now, yet the media, after doing MUCH damage to Detroit and HYPING this utterly 'useless' technology (in the vein of cost verses benefit) is doing NOTHING but whispering about the reality of the situation now. Yet another ploy.... Bought hook, line and sinker.

TWO WORDS: Zero Coverage.

WOW!!!! That Ridgeline is soo, sooo, INNOVATIVE and SUCH A HIT!!!!! I'm sure the media will continue to turn up the "BUY A RIDGELINE" volume though.
-
Acura is sueing Ford? For what? Meh... Typical of one of the 'infallable' asian companies.

Maybe you could give one of the pups to a close friend or relative... That way, at least you could see it now and again... That sucks though...

Cue mellow dramatic music. OBVIOUS pun intended. Give me a break.... ***As usual, DETROIT NEWS is working overtime to kick GM while it's down. And what a surprise, this heart breaking piece hails from import infested/anti-Detroit, Washington.*** I'm sure it'll be or is front page news.

Right you are my friend. Thanks for giving me a fresh view on the topic. My apologies. What a surprise "GM doesn't REALLY care about the economy."

First Drive: 2007 Saturn Vue Green Line Hybrid
FUTURE_OF_GM replied to Variance's topic in Heritage Marques
GM needs to spread this technology like wild fire around it's divisions.... A side note: The placement of the badging on GM cars is HORRIBLE!!! It's these sort of details that GM needs to really work on. -
Then why are you replying to it? Why does my opinion even matter? P.S. This will be my last post on this topic... Have a nice day and say what you will! (Because it's not like I care anyway)

One advantage that I was thinking about is that it looks as if the Cobalt bumper covers would be easy to replace for a freshening or Pontiac version (Judging by the cut lines) I would agree that this is a good BUSINESS move as far as numbers are concerned. Then again, this month's Motor Trend said that the popularity of the G6 is enough to viably sustain Pontiac at this point. My question: why will Cobaalt sales fall? Just the aging of the model and better competition?
-
Probably because the division's image has SUCCESSFULLY been ruined... And, being that they're Detroit (which STOPPED thinking outside of the negative controlled box (built especially for them by the people who ruined their image) years ago) they probably would rather cut the division for short term gain, rather than long term vision.... After all, that's how we do business in america... SHORT TERM.

And the wall of optimism comes crashing down from the 'in the know' crowd Couldn't have said it better myself Rich... GM is as good as dead as long as this pessimism is so strong for some unknown reason.
-
PERFECT!!! I'm glad that EVERYONE isn't snowed. I agree 100%! Everything is there, even the gorgeous photography! As it stands now, MPH or Automotive News are about the only 2 worth more than extra TP in the men's room.

LMMFAO.... "Get over it" My rants are no more tiring than hearing how Toyota is going to SAVE THE WORLD all the time with WONDERFUL products that in fact AREN'T that special or better than average. And what's even more tiring is that ALL of the 'in the knows' seem to try their BEST to promote this logic like they've been brainwashed or something. My opinion told me... LOL. I'll have to agree with this one. I never put words in your mouth.. You LOVED the Ridgeline and your post implied that you were impressed with the Tundra... As far as the 'misrepresentation of facts' FACT has nothing to do with what I say here, it's all opinion with a VERY HEALTHY dose of SARCASM (Which I guess didn't transfer well through text) So, the basic difference is I, unlike the media, do not push my BIASED OPINION off as fact to an unsuspecting public. 1) This ain't no UNBIASED NEWS SITE. 2) That's right; if they can play the bias game then so can I. I'm not going to 'GIVE IN' and give Toyota a free ride (READ: Chant along with the media) as some of our members have now decided to do. 3) Yet again; I am a nobody... What does my OPINION matter to any of you (Other than to occasionally piss you off) I AM NOT a source of automotive data or reviews. The media outlets are, and therefore with great power comes great responsibility to be fair and unbiased. See the difference: FOG= smart a** with a laptop. Major media outlets= SOURCE for MANY purchase decisions. LOL. (Let me knock that chip right off my shoulder) Actually, that was by Edmunds.com standards earlier this year. I can try to find the article if anyone wants. ***If it wasn't obvious that a lot of what I said was meant in sarcasm, then let this be the disclaimer.***

Disco was around largely before I was born but I LOVE it! (And just think; I'm a metalhead) Of course, I also love Orchestra and Techno...

Quite a bit of blues.... A local station here has an EXCELLENT blues show that I'm absolutely mad about. Other than that... Broke out the classic MetallicA for the first time in a bit... The new KoRn CD "See You on the Other Side" (Their best work in a while IMO--and I'm getting ready for their concert in a month-YAY!) Lamb of God, I'm in love with Randy Blythe's voice and he's an EXCELLENT songwriter! Pantera, "The Great Southern Trendkill" not much of a Pantera fan but this IMO is their BEST work. Slipknot, the live album. I lost the faith when "Subliminal Verses" came out, but the new live album is B-R-U-T-A-L!!! Ummm.... Let's see, what else? Soilwork: "Figure number 5" (Nice swedish metal for those of you who don't know) Static X "Start A War" (One of the perenial favorites of my collection) DevilDriver (Getting ready for their concert in 2 WEEKS!!!) Dry Kill Logic; the first CD. Can't wait 'til their new one comes out... SOON! I'm also spinning Dope; "Life" and lots of American Head Charge. This year is going to be outstanding for metal! Korn has already dropped, Dry Kill Logic will drop soon, Godsmack's new album is dropping in April; it's supposed to be bluesy. March will be Rob Zombie month, Lamb of God will hit in summer supposedly and MetallicA is rumored to be cooking something up for fall. These are just SOME of the highlights. I've already missed the chance to see Disturbed live--AGAIN, dammit! And because of exams it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to see the Rob Zombie tour Oh well, here's hoping that they tour again this summer! (Sorry to digress so much--music is my second biggest hobby )

I think Buick has a bright future if the Lucerne and Enclave are any indication... The Lucerne is making headway as a stronger second wave to a semi successful Lacrosse. Now all GM has to do is launch the Enclave successfully and get more product in the pipeline (AS IN: a Velite sourced from the new Camaro platform, etc.)
-
I like it fine just the way it is.... The chrome grille adds spice to the lower models and the black grille matches the portholes of the upper model better. I think the Lucerne is an awesome car... It has some compromises, but overall an A.

Looked at one in a dealership today... It's a GREAT car! Can't see why anyone would criticize (Unless they wanted to nit pick) But, that said, it could be nicer. (And yes, criticizing and improvement are 2 different things)
