  1. I'm just shocked that the brand-new 50k Bimmer did so poorly..
  2. Anything that raises the gas mileage of them and makes them more saleable is a good thing. Plus, isn't this "mild hybrid" system a lot cheaper than the Lexus one?
  3. I don't think a 12 year old really needs to see that movie- and not because of the gay content. The Grandparents however are obviously seeing this as a big old cash register and they just hit "no sale"
  4. It's pretty clear from the article that the doctors felt that if the "reduction" was not performed that there was likelyhood that all of the fetuses and the mother could die.
  5. I would very much prefer that it is a hardtop. I think they look better: whenever I see a coupe with a fixed rear window (especially one that's styled to look like a hardtop), I think "well they cheaped out" As far as the dev costs go, it's a new car; those costs would be there whether it has a b-pillar or not. I am not an expert so I don't know how much extra it would be, but I hope that it's reasonable enough for them to spend it.
  6. I had a rented Caliber last week. He should be getting the finger.

    Uh... ooook

I've got no issues with McD's. They have unsweetened iced tea on tap. I used to get a super-sized one after the gym until damned Morgan "Super-Size Me" Spurlock came along and they dropped them for merely "large". Besides, you know going in that a Big Mac ain't exactly spa food. It's places that serve you salads like Koo Koo Roo with the Chinese Chicken salad that has about 175 more calories than that Big Mac (703) or that healthy chicken bowl with curry sauce at 1200 calories that are the stealth bad-boys
  8. Aztek The concept was much better. In shifting it to the minivan platform it became bloated, the concept was smaller. Thunderbird Was a very nice car that Ford spent so much time announcing and not getting it to market that by the time it finally did show up I delt like i had had one and returned it when the lease expired. SSR Too big and too heavy and not powerful enough. Maybe should have been done on a car platform XUV Once again, IMHO too big. Great concept, though. If they ever do a CTS shooting brake, it should have that roof. Mark X Another in a decade-long line of concepts from Lincoln that should have been and never were.
  9. I am liberal I believe in global warming. I loathe President Bush for many reasons, not the least of which is his FU attitude to American car makers (along with most other politicians Repub or Dem who do nothing about the artifically undervalued Yen) Michael Moore is a disingenuous jerk who makes movies about important subjects that are only for his faithful, since he seems more to enjoy provoking and annoying the other side than actually taking into account that they are not crazy, they just don't agree with him. As much as I am all for gun control, if Charlton Heston had busted a cap in his ass as a tresspasser, I would have giggled. I don't drive a Prius. I put my eco-friendly money where my mouth is and take the bus. I put very few miles on my car a year.

    Car Talk

Nope, not really. That really is the accent. South Boston has a very definite accent, I don't know why. I used to have much more of an accent, but over the decades I lost most of it, although most people still peg me as being from back east. I just sound a lot less like Kate Hepburn. :-D
  11. God it gets worse- He killed a two people in a dorm and then crossed canpus and killed 30 more in a building two hours later. How the hell does that happen? Two people shot to death in a dorm room and there's no lockdown? Not good..

whaa? Their accent is pure South Boston. Sue me.

    Car Talk

I don't listen to them. Their accent is like nails on a blackboard and their tongue-up-Hondas-ass attitude bores me, and I drive a Honda
  14. I hope you get that '59, that is one of the coolest looking cars of any era.
  15. I wish they had at least integrated the side marker lamp in the side vent. Having the vent, lamp and GM badge on there is extremely awkward. The interior would be really nice if we had never seen the China-market SLS. Sadly for them, we have.
  16. Budget is the one that I was quoting from. I looked into renting an XLR for my birthday. I think it was $500 per day with 50 miles free per day.
  17. Wish I could make it but I have other plans. Too bad, I'd love to see the O.C. in Lynda Carter tights...
  18. Specialty convertibles like the XLR are going to be quite dear and only give you about 50 miles free. I'd go for the Mustang for the week. You can leave late morning form LA and be in Santa Barbara for lunch. Taceria Super Rica is a local hang with really good Mexican food (Julia Child was a regular) and great guacamole. Take the Milpas exit off the 101 and the restaurant is on the right, at Cota. Or you could go further up the coast and have lunch at Pea Soup Andersons. IMHO, the food isn't as good, but it's an institution. You can check out Solvang and some of the wineries in the Sant Ynez valley and still have time to make it to San Luis Obispo and check into the Madonna Inn. Liven up your marriage, ask for the Caveman room! I haven't been north on PCH of there for a while, but Monterey is beautiful. Definately stick to PCH. From SF, take the Golden Gate and take the coast road to Bodega Bay. The drive is wonderful over Mount Tam and it really looks like "The Birds". You can take the road inland from Bodega to Santa Rosa and go to Napa from there.
  19. Where's Jerry Flint on this one. I thought he said the market for these were cooling..
  20. So were supposed to believe that O'Reilly is all green of a sudden? That he's become Fox's own Ed Begley Jr.? Yo, Billy riding in a limo is not considered carpooling
  21. The fact that you think that was directed entirely towards you and your habit of texting while driving (it wasn't) is extremely telling...
  22. You'll get a ticket in California if you are going too slow- it's obstructing traffic flow.
  23. I'm in the very rarely category. I have a bluetooth speaker thingy that I clip to the visor (I hate those ear ones, I think people look like demented Lt. Uhura impersonators) that allows me to voice dial without taking my eyes off the road. I also have assigned ringtones to the people that I really want to take a call from, so I might not answer if it's not someone I know. Just because you can do something while driving does not mean you should. Just because you haven't had an accident doesn't mean you never will.
  24. I saw that ungainly lump at this years LA Auto show. Anything that the union can do to help that turd from wearing the battered-but-proud Imperial name is in my opinion a good thing.

    ANN COULTER

Ann Coulter provides one service. Next to that Alexis Arquette looks radiantly feminine.
