  1. Trax is too small, Equinox size is better. GM needs a crossover in between Equinox and Traverse too, that is a good place to put an EV.
  2. If he could sell 10,000 Model 3's it would be a $500 million infusion into the company. Musk is genius in how he gets all these interest free short term loans from people, but if they had cars to sell, they wouldn't have cashflow problems.
  3. Tesla does want to lay the smack down to the gas engine. If batteries and electric motors get cheap enough it will happen fast. With the new Roadster where price isn't an concern, it can just lay waste to anything with a gas car. The real challenge though is to make an $25,000 EV that doesn't suck. If some billionaires speed around in Tesla Roadsters it doesn't really change anything, the world changes when the electric drivetrain is more common than the gas in an average family sedan. Think of this, the Tesla Roadster has as much torque as ten Mercedes-AMG S65's! If Tesla can pull all this stuff off, the future will be awesome.
  4. I think this truck is awesome it re-writes the rules and could change the way shipping is done. Diesel semi's have basically seen not a whole lot of advancement in 20-30 years, sure they got an extra mpg here or there, a little more acceleration, but this would be a breakthrough. The fact that you could have trucks that aren't god awful slow, or polluting like crazy or making a ton of noise would be epic. I am actually quite excited for this. That being said, they actually have to build it. Tesla has a new idea every year, but they can't actually produce the ideas they come up with and get them in people's hands.
  5. I like the looks on the small crossover. I wouldn't buy a crossover, but given the proportions designers have to work with on compact crossovers, I think that one looks pretty good. These batteries will come down in price. Probably by 2026 the batteries will be $60 per kilowatt hour.
  6. I think Mercedes considered a GLS coupe and ruled it out because it isn't really possible to do a sloping roofline 3 row vehicle. BMW should forget the X8 and do an X9 4-row Crossover, with rear facing seats in the second row like a Maybach limo.
  7. Just 8? We demand 18 new crossovers!
  8. The GX is hopelessly dated, it had a V8 making 302 hp or some level that modern 4 cylinders can make. 3 row RX means they can kill GX or move it to some new chassis and push up the price.
  9. I am pretty sure an 80s Ford LTD could tow over 12,000 lbs as proven by their marketing materials of a parked car hooked to a trailer with a 40 foot boat.
  10. I think there are a good number of people that will buy a pickup, even in Europe and it has a 3 pointed star on the front so people will want it. I don’t expect it to be a top seller of theirs by any means but I am sure they will turn profit on it.
  11. Depends on what a buyer finds to be "better." The GLS is a unibody SUV, it is the Cadillac CT6 lightweight of the segment, yet it also has the most powerful engine in the segment. Escalade, Navigator, QX80, LX570 are all built on modified pick up truck chassis. So if tow rating is #1, then the pick up truck frame is important, if you don't tow, and I have never seen a trailer behind an Escalade, Navigator, GLS, QX80 or LX570, then maybe that doesn't matter.
  12. I don’t, I would take a GT S over a GT R but I would take an SL over a GT also. But that wing doesn’t look as tacky as the ZR1’s.
  13. X3e is rumored for 2020, Mercedes will have theirs out before that and with more horsepower. I hope BMW makes 10 electric cars, the more the merrier. The more EV's out there the better they will get, the cheaper they will get. The more companies pushing for the change, the faster it will happen.
  14. It is on the same platform and it seats 4 people. Lamborghini has already said it has a Lamborghini exclusive V8 with 650 hp, top speed is estimated at 205 mph, it had a sand dune mode, off road mode, and track mode, they say it will beat the Alfa Romeo Stelvio's Nurburgring record for an SUV. And it starts at just $200,000, and they think it will double Lamborghini sales volume.
  15. The Urus could have no room and ride like crap and people will pay $300k for it, because it says Lamborghini on the back. And that is my point, you don't have to have interior room or ride quality, there are people that want performance and will buy an SUV based on 0-60 time and Nurburgring time. Which is why I have said for a few years GM needs to be in the performance SUV game before it is too late.
  16. Amazing power, styling looks a bit too fast and furious or cartoony with the big wing. But the C7 overall isn't one of the better looking Corvettes.
  17. I am saying big money spenders in most cases aren’t looking for just a bigger vehicle. The old thinking is an SUV needs to haul 8 people and tow 10,000 lbs and the roominess or comfort is what makes it luxury. But then you have a Cayenne Turbo, Bentley Bentayga, forthcoming Lamborghini and Ferrari SUVs, etc. Then what is more “luxurious” a $90,000 full size Escalade ESV or a $300,000 Lamborghini Urus? And people say a Lamborghini or Ferrari SUV is crazy, I bet for both brands it is their #1 seller.
  18. Easy to do when you take a short cut. Mercedes isn’t making an EV version of any existing car but rather coming up with an all new platform for all new 10 EV’s. If the X3e has 250+ mile range and 400 hp then fantastic, if it is a compromised vehicle like the eGolf then pass on that. The i3 is a compromised vehicle, make that thing drive like a 335i and then they would be on to something.
  19. Lots of $100k and up sports cars that are tight. I doubt a Ferrari has any room in it yet people buy anyway. G-Wagon is smaller than a GLE but people fork over double GLE money for it. Sometimes luxury isn’t about size or even performance, it is about look at me, look at how much money I have.
  20. Oddly enough GLS sales are up 9% this year and 2018 is the final model year for this generation. Escalade and Navigator are both down this year. So I guess width isn't a big deal for buyers.
  21. That may be but the GLS is also a unibody compared to a body on frame so maybe that is why the feel is different. GLS’s dimensions inside and out are very close to Navigator, Escalade, LX570, QX80, etc. And as stated before, Mercedes has to sell the GLS in Europe and China so they have to factor that into the size and engine choices too. Plus more size doesn’t equal better. That is like arguing the Town Car is better than a CT6 because it is larger.
  22. Ford has a European footprint, they also have an international Ranger right now. I could see Ford selling a Ranger in Europe and doing well with it. They already have gas and diesel engines for the Euro market to use without having to come up with anything new to meet regulations.
  23. A 936 hp electric Bentley would be epic! Build that please.
