2008 NAIAS Walk-Around
RangerVT replied to RangerVT's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)
It was part of Michelin's display showing that they outfit various vehicles of all makes on all continents. Michelin was also displaying the E85 Jay Leno Corvette Z06 with 600hp and a new Viper SRT-10. Figured Chevrolet and Dodge would jump on that display before the Michelin people.... Whatev.... -
2008 NAIAS Walk-Around
RangerVT replied to RangerVT's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)
Right it's called the "Sinister 6" which is a BMW 6-Series that's completely decked out with speakers pouring out of every orifice. And yes, I do have more pics still to post if you want more...... -

(The "Order Your Bentley" Table) -
We've had 5 Malibus so far and all 5 have sold. We've even sold a few that are on order and haven't arrived yet! The vehicle is sharp looking and a great drive as well! Seems like the mid-level LTs are the sweet spot so far. What's more surprising is the demand for the 2.4L vs. the 3.6L. The majority are snatching up the 2.4L rather than take additional power. The LS model sat the longest (2 weeks), and the LTZ and LT models both turned within a few days.

Up Close and Personal with the All-New 2008 Malibu
RangerVT replied to RangerVT's topic in General Motors
Sorry for the lack of uploaded photos to image shack or photo bucket. On my next go-round I'll try and get those up there instead. (I was pressed for time since I was at work still... haha) That beautiful LTZ has already sold but we have received a nice 2LT in the New Golden Pewter Color and 2 more 1LS 'Bus. More pics to come including the elusive "popped hood" shot, my bad! -
Hey guys, We just got in our first 2008 Malibu last night so this morning after it was all cleaned up, I took some photos in the showroom. Enjoy! I'll post more if you want different angles, features, etc. We brought in our first Malibu with the LTZ package and every option that was available at the time of order! MSRP: $28,340 Also, I attended the Ride & Drive for the 2008 Malibu with a head-to-head run against the Camry, Sonata, & Fusion. I'll write more about that later. Short Overview: We finally have a vehicle that can and will compete!

FRANKFURT: 2008 Chevrolet Aveo5
RangerVT replied to thegriffon's topic in International Motor Show - Germany
I like blackviper's winning concept design. You should send it off to GM before they unveil this little monster. haha. -
They might have a chance to pull this one off I think. The cash situation has been resolved to a certain extent I think. Especially with their sale of stock in GMAC and just recently the Allison Transmission (which I hate to see), GM is putting themselves in position to have the cash flow to make these types of vehicles really come true!

Not a big fan of the redesign. It's well overexaggerrated, but then again it could be crappy photography. The current Sedan fascia is more muscular, while adding style to the subcompact market. I wouldn't mind this front end as much if they toned it down just slightly to not have such a huge gaping hole! -
The Edge and Lincoln MKX are already out. No need to wait. If you want it, go for it. Personally though, they don't drive as nice as advertised. Again, could just be a preference thing though.

Great Video! I think it's a must see!

Night before my wedding.... otherwise I'd be in!

Hoax or not. I think we can all agree that GM has turned their act around in leaps and bounds with the new product releases. I would not be surprised if Honda and Toyota had their eyes opened up a bit more seeing the debuts in Detroit. I still think the Tundra was held up after seeing the new Silverado! Maybe we could be a little less skeptical and take Good News just as that, Good News for GM!

Alright.... I finally made my way to Detroit and back! Here is a link to my album, courtesy of Webshots. NAIAS 2007

Hmm.... wonder if there were any other vehicles at the Auto Show. Looks like you're first in line for a new CTS.
-
But will this have any effect on the American media or sales profits? Very doubtful! It's about time that someone is finally broadcasting these stories (NADA/Yahoo! News) rather than just sweep it under the rug and keep Toyota "Moving Forward". This is information the general buying public needs to know!

Fantastic Rendition of NAIAS!

Nah... the guys at the factory are screwing with us and putting some tail lamps in upside down, just for fun!

Well stated! I do think GM wants there cars out there as quickly as possible. They know they have winners in those vehicles, but you don't want to shortcut on quality just to get it out there quicker. All that brings about is more recalls and dissatisfied customers, which then compounds to the reputation they're trying so hard to overcome. Those cars will come out when they're good and ready; then knock the pants off their competition!
