I said the shift kit wouldn't be worth the money, thus I'd rather bitch and moan. It doesn't improve performance and only affects the torque converter. The ratios will still be the same, it'll still have four gears, and it'll still shift itself. Fixing the issue would be dropping a 5spd manual into it. Bitch, please, indeed.

I think the lack of days off is exactly what's getting to me. Especially with two part time schedules that aren't set. My shifts for both change day by day, week by week. That and those double days where I work both.

Let's see: -Fix control arm bushings Vs. Buy an automatic shift kit. -Buy a CAI/exhuast/etc Vs. Buy an automatic shift kit. Or, better yet: -Save money Vs. Buy an automatic shift kit. Yes, I can see exactly why you rolled your eyes. It's clearly the most important thing ever to exist in my life. I mean, god forbid, I might bitch about it forever and that is just terrible. All that time I'll spend bitching could be spent jacking off or even picking my nose. Oh joy! I can't wait! Bitch, please. Again, I think I'd rather bitch and be more aggressive with the gas pedal than spend money on a worthless kit for a worthless automatic.

As I've alluded to previously, I recently found myself a second job to give myself more security, financially. Now having a loan payment and feeling obliged to upgrade to full coverage insurance, I can't live off my part-time hours at the Pharmacy, alone. The idea is that one job will cover those new expenses while I have the other for miscellaneous spending and saving. Essentially, I've jumped right in and am now logging 50 hours per week, working 7 days a week. Alot of times, I will work both jobs in one day for starting at 4 am and generally lasting until 5-7 pm. It's mentally draining, especially when I'm not able to get the sleep I need. I just had a day like that today and I am thoroughly shot. I'm beginning to think I should try to cut back on hours to something less stressful. As is, I feel like I'm overworking myself without being able to give myself a break between jobs. At this rate, I'm going to get caught up in work for longer than I bargained for. I still have college to consider once I figure that out for myself. This year has started off with some pretty sudden shifts in what direction my life has taken. I could have certainly done without that snowplow incident. Alas, I might as well get used to it and value having more hours than I bargained for rather than being laid off, like many others.

So, you're using the cost of a ownership for a Toureg, an expensive, high-end, luxury SUV filled with more electronic-doo-dads than most vehicles on the market, as the basis for cost of ownership of all VW's in general? Yes, that makes complete sense. I'm sure the Phaeton is a terrific example to use as well, as well. A newer Jetta is not that far off from a newer Cobalt, as far as cost of maintenance goes. Have you personally owned any foreign vehicle? If the answer is a resounding "NO", frankly, I fail to see what qualifies you to advise us on maintenance costs for a vehicle you've never personally owned and maintained from a manufacturer you've never purchased from and personally dealt with. "My buddy this", "My buddy that" can be thrown around all day, it still doesn't amount to much.

I think my brother won the worst wreck award, needing to be life-flighted. I'm sure my cousin Josh's are through the roof. Mine, judging by the difference in price via quotes, will be going up a little, but not too much higher than they already were. Actually, the Cobalt would have raised my rates more than my accident. It was something like $100 cheaper per month to have me as the Sunfire's driver, so that's how its set up.

Not entirely related, but, Idol has a few good ones this year. I haven't been watching, but I've come across them via Youtube. Adam Lambert has one an amazing range. Kris Allen is pretty soulful. Allison Iraheta is good as well from what I've heard.

Oh look. I still shop at JCPennies, with some Rue21 and H&M mixed in. The only pair of jeans I've bought that literally ripped apart on me were from Target.

DF brought up this point and I figured I would look back and see how many accidents there really has been. I'm going back until 2000, or so. There weren't many before then, not since my parents, aunts, and uncles were younger. It's mostly my generation that's had issues. -My cousin Josh's first wreck, spinning into a tree with his Firebird back in 2000, a few months after getting his license. -My cousin Josh's second wreck involved rear ending someone with his jacked up and modded Ford Ranger. -My Mom's first wreck, when she slid into an embankment and a bridge with her Grand Am in 2002. -My cousin Andy wrecked my Grandma's Sunfire in 2003 or 2004, the first day he had his license, spinning it into a tree at a high rate of speed. -My Mom's second wreck, when she swerved to miss a deer and flipped her Blazer back in 2006. -My cousin Jen wrecked her Neon in snowy conditions, hitting a telephone pole in the winter of 06/07, a few months after getting her license. -My brother's wreck, where he fell asleep at the wheel and hit a steel sign in the fall of 2008. -My own dandy.

He's just accident prone. This is his 3rd or 4th with all previous attempts totalling the vehicle. He's 25. He served to miss a deer and skidded into an embankment. I'm not sure what turned it onto its side, the embankment or the sharp swerving.

My cousin turned his truck on its side just before easter. The night before, actually. This was my Grandpa's, as well, before he sold it to my cousin last fall. It had 20k some miles before he did. Fun picture of it, the Cobalt, and my Grand Am from '05.

There is a '53, or so, Chevy truck sitting for sale at $2200, I think it was. It looks to be one of those 'Old Navy' trucks that were sitting around from two winters ago. I'll have to get some pictures.

They're still there and getting worse, if anything. It looks, to me, that it's the control arm bushings, but I won't find out for sure until I have time to take it to a garage. Easter was my first day off in a while, and obviously, everything is closed.

Must have been a wild ride.

I can't speak, I got a decent amount back for all the more I make. It made up 20% of my Cobalt payment.
