  1. I approve. I like yellow.
  2. The last engine bay I paid any attention to was the Millenias. The rest I havent kept clean... and really not much point of it on the Golf.
  3. I only run into this problem whenever I'm quoting multiple replies. For a single quote and general reply, I do the same as Croc.
  4. Is it possible to either remove or move the "Start New Topic" button at the bottom of each thread. It's right where I'm used to the "Reply" button being. I can't say how many times I've accidentally found myself in the wrong area, just about to start a new topic, when all I wanted to do was reply with quotes. It seems unnatural that the "Reply" button is offset to the left of the other. It's not a terribly big deal, but it's fairly annoying to find myself there. This is seemingly the only forum that I find myself having this issue with ever since the forums were moved to this new style.
  5. I tend to watch my rear view mirror a bit too much. There's a few areas I'm always expecting to get rear-ended, which hasn't been helped since I got hit in the Cobalt. One turn-off, specifically, is on the left, directly after a nice, quick, right bend that crests a hill. It's the perfect blind turn for some careless driver to come dashing around and completely obliterate my Golf and myself. I'm most fearful it will be a Semi. I like to put my blinker on waaaaaay before the turn if anyone what-so-ever is behind me.
  6. For real. It won't be in its prime til 200k. Atleast.
  7. It's work. You just have to try. Alot of the stuff I've had to do with my Golf, I put off, fretting about how I didn't think I'd be able to do it correctly. Then, I finally did it and it seemed like child's play after that. As long as you have the tools you need and a good tear-down sheet to go by, you shouldn't have any issues. The most important thing I've become aware of is to make sure every bolt is torqued correctly. Just be patient, make a day of it.... and perhaps turn your stereo on and be calm. Have a beer if you must.
  8. You've sure had an interesting selection of cars over the years.
  9. 1969 Chrysler Newport 1974 Dodge Coronet 1958 Lincoln Premier 1973 Chrysler Imperial 1959 Ford Anglia 1953 Buick Special 1971 Lincoln Continental Mark III
  10. Mmmm. I wouldn't have minded picking that up.
  11. It's big and beautiful? I've always liked that generation of Benz's.
  12. I'm a fan.
  13. One virtue of the Cobalt was it's stellar gas mileage. I always averaged in the upper 30's with a high of 42. Lowest ever was right around 28, with lead footed driving. Considering it was a non-XFE automatic, thats pretty good. The EPA's rating? 21 city, 29 highway, and 24 combined. Yeah, I don't think so. With my Jetta, I always averaged between 28 and 30, never higher, never any lower. It was the most consistant car I've had with gas mileage. The EPA's rating? 19 city, 26 highway, and 22 combined.
  14. Clicky. This one's got a little surprise.
  15. This is perfect for you: Clicky.
  16. I thought this thing was supposed to be a sort of mini-ute type of thing. Those specs are pretty sporty... It's as if it was designed to fool you, which isn't much of a surprise when studying the messy design. Like the author said, you really can't wrap your head around this one.
  17. I've downgraded, and upgraded. No longer with 32 inches of goodness. But I'm up to 1980x1080 resolution.... and back to Hong Kong. It's just so pretty.
  18. I like the idea of a revised rail service throughout. In my area, we have a relatively high number of old rail roads and most of them are either not being used, or are being removed. Taking advantage of such would certainly add a touch of nostalgia, coherent with the historic nature of local towns. Not only that, it would give us some form of public transit. It's currently sorely lacking, most notably from town to town. We have no choice but to drive. Parking, and the prices thereof, are the least of our worries.
  19. VW x 1000.
  20. I'm seeing more and more Fieros lately.
  21. Mk6 VW GTI. It's easily the best handling FWD car I've personally driven and the aftermarket for VW's is pretty immense. Granted, it is a hatchback and I never pegged you as a hatchback sort of guy. The oil pan and intake gasket should be a relatively easy fix. Gaskets are cheap and its not like you're replacing a head gasket, so you don't have to tear much of the motor apart, everything is pretty much on top (or bottom) without many parts in the way. Same with the tie rod. That one, you just want to make sure to get it aligned afterwords.
  22. Seems to have a randomly-occurring intermittent misfire. Coil pack, maybe?
  23. The bad:
  24. An addition has been made to our already overstuffed driveway.
