  1. Finally, my days off have aligned with sunshine. New thermostat is in, but its not fixed yet. I'm hoping there's just trapped air from opening it up. In that case, I'll need to put it through a few warming/cooling cycles before I know. I definitely have differing temps between the upper radiator hose and the lower radiator hose. Otherwise, the Golf is done... Finished... Over... Kaput. I'm not putting any more money into it at this point and currently, It's not drivable from a safety standpoint. The power steering pump died, the rear struts are blown, the fuel pump needs replaced, a wheel bearing just went out, and it needs a full tune up. I already have more in this car than I ever should have put into it... nearly twice blue book value, and I really don't feel like adding to a lost cause. If I can't get the CRX going by tomorrow, I'm going to have to speed up my car search and just settle for something... anything.
  2. My current 'short' list... 2004 Nissan Maxima - 6spd only. 2002-03 Nissan Maxima - 6spd only. 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix - Comp G only. 2003-04 Cadillac CTS - 5spd only. 2003 Acura CL Type-S - 6spd only. 2001-03 Lexus IS300 - 6spd only. I'm currently trying to stay with a stick, save for the Grand Prix due to the unavailability of such. I'm trying to stay with something that has good reliability while still being what I want. A big factor is that low mileage isn't likely with the price point I'm looking at. Something with roughly 80k is what I figure I can expect. Otherwise, I'm looking at older vehicles which I'd like to avoid. I've excluded many vehicles I was previously looking at due to questionable reliability, especially with the aforementioned factors. Audis, BMWs, VWs, Saabs, etc. The hurdle I have to deal with currently is financing. Due to the mixed nature of my income, with half of it coming in the form of tips, my credit union isn't willing to do much for me. What I can afford, and what they think I can afford isn't in agreement.
  3. If the CRX disappears... Another CRX. Perhaps an early 90's Civic hatch. I'll need a cheap fuel efficient beater as long as I'm working where I do.
  4. That's odd considering you also had the 5spd. My automatic Cobalt was always redeeming itself with its gas mileage. I usually averaged about 32 day to day... and got as high as 42 mpg on the highway, as you may recall.
  5. Don't be a traitor.
  6. Think about it... Kizashi 2.0t... Kizashi VR6... Kizashi TDi. I imagine there would be some appeal there.
  7. This thread makes me laugh. I can't help it.
  8. I have a new opinion... I might as well plan a road trip. It's SOAD afterall and I might never have the chance to do so again.
  9. System of a Down will be performing a reunion tour beginning in May. It's about time. This gives me something to be excited about since everything else in my life is depressing at the moment. Not that any of the U.S. shows are close enough to personally attend, but perhaps they'll announce some east coast shows later in the year. Here's to hoping.
  10. The only things to change were obvious... More pedestrian taillights and wheels along with an ever so slightly altered rear bumper. The paint color is biggest change.
  11. That depends entirely on whether these "deficiencies" are imaginary...
  12. Here's a few more pictures for reference, not that this needs beat to death anymore... Also, it looks wonderful in black...
  13. Pictures doesn't do it any justice. There are so many fine detail touches abound that put it into a league above.
  14. I just want to throw this comment in... The A8 interior is not overrated in the least. I've sat in it and it easily bests its competitors in design, content, quality, and materials. With that said, I love the Fisker's unique, highly detailed cabin. It's terrific without being overwrought.
  15. I did some research and it seems that it's the opposite. Seems like the stepped auto is plagued with issues and dealers commonly pull a $3800 or so bill for replacement. Meh.
  16. It's not equipped with a CVT. It runs well and whatnot. My biggest worry would be the mileage.
  17. Hmm.... Nissan Maxima? $8800.
