  1. That's what I'm thinking... Anyways, I went through the entire process up to getting a price and trade offer. They're not very willing to come down in price because it books for $2845. They appraised the Cutlass for $449. After trade in, tax, and tags, it would still be $1734. Quite ridiculous. I'm surprised they gave me that much on trade in for the Cutlass, however, despite it still being $350 less than the absolute lowest I'll accept for it. They were very friendly, at least. 2. An update.... So yesterday morning, I went to test drive it, as I mentioned. First, the good. It runs and drives quite well. It's very solid. The engine is really clean and after half an hour of driving and idling, no issues popped up. The interior is in good condition as well. The body is... to certain points. This is where the bad comes it. Giving it a thorough look over in, out, under and over, it has more rust than I originally noticed. The tailgate is completely rotted out at the bottom and the hinges are shot. The right rear fender has a bit of rust bubbles popping up like my Millenia does, but not quite as bad. The left rocker panel is pretty far gone, as well, with a good 3 inch long hole. The front bumper, as mentioned, is rough, with rust and cracks hiding under shiny duct tape that is actually more noticeable. Underneath, there has been some frame repair done at the cause of rust. The frame, fasteners, and suspension parts looks solid, however. Up front, where there appears to be a leak, the lower seal for the oil pan looks to be where it came from... Despite not seeing it leak anytime while running it. As well, the ABS light was on and the parking brake didn't seem to work. I'll add more later, I've got to run.
  3. As I've mentioned, there's this 96 Nissan Hardbody pickup for sale that I'm seriously considering. It's a regular cab, standard bed with a 2.4L 4cyl and 5spd manual. The is in mostly good condition with a few minor rust bubbles around the rear fenders and a ghetto fabulous front bumper. It appears to be solid to my eyes underneath, as well. It's recently inspected. It's advertised at $1999. Tomorrow morning... well... later this morning considering the time... I'm going to look at it in detial, test drive it, and if all goes well on those fronts, I'm going to haggle with salesmen. I would like to get the price down to around $1500 as I see it now. Before I do all this, however, I would really appreciate some feedback. I took a good amount of pictures tonight, including many of the underbody and frame. Basically... does it look trustworthy and is it worth looking into? These trucks seem to be pretty dependable and with a 4cyl and 5spd, it should be efficient enough to get mid to high 20s on the highway. What do you guys think?
  4. Do I even get money? If so, it's going towards my "Beast Replacement Fund". Don't forget... I accept donations!
  5. Don't feel too bad. At the pharmacy, there are people who are on 15 different medications, and some that pay over $500 for their prescriptions. For some, if they didn't have insurance, they would never be able to afford their meds. One drug costs us about $3k. Many, many others are scattered in the hundreds.
  6. There's a paint reference for Millenias on Mazda World, but I doubt many people care.
  7. I have two books and they are pretty much the only ones I've liked. A Separate Peace and Rainbow Boys.
  8. Frantic - Metallica... I must say, St. Anger sure is "different" for being Metallica. Hetfield's voice is the only distinguishing element that reveals it as being Metallica.
  9. Throw Me Away - KoRn I feel bad for whomever left my Zen on the pavement at the car lot where I found it. As far as I'm concerned though, it's mine now. Finders keepers, losers weepers
  10. I never said all G-bodies suck. Mine, however, is a POS in every way possible. S10/Blazers on the other hand... My personal experience with them has shaped my opinion of them. So, don't make me break out a big ol' "BITCH PLEASE!" J-bodies aren't bad cars as long as you can deal with numerous little reliability issues, poor build quality, and a range of piss-poor engines. Using our Sunfire GT as an example, I quite like the clutch and transmission and rides well enough, despite having an overly stiff and underly compliant suspension. The steering is decent as well, though it certainly has an artificial feel to it. However, a Cavalier Z24 of a similar vintage, for being largely the same car, has such a different feel and comes off as so much more down market. Even the interior environment is so much better... and the Sunfire, by no means, has a great interior. Ironically enough, I actually enjoy driving our's. If only it wasn't so unreliable and not on the verge on blowing up.

  12. That's what my Millenia had, a little metal key inside of a thin plastic holder... Not that I ever needed it, thanks to the keyless entry remote that I always used to lock the doors. I miss that set up.
  13. I condemn thee all.
  14. I did that with my Grand Am. It's not a lie, I am a total dumbass.
  15. Lose Control - Evanescence.
  16. Been there, done that. I used to be a huge Diet Pepsi drinker. Diet Pepsi in the morning, Diet Pepsi in the afternoon, Diet Pepsi at night. Pretty much the only thing I drank until I stopped drinking it suddenly and went on a water binge.
  17. Haha... Whining over placement of the wiper stalk? That's a new one.
  18. I prefer water.
  19. The aforementioned G8 again. It's quite nice. While looking at it, a Brookville cop stopped and joined me.
  20. Pretty much.
  21. This Love - Pantera
  22. For the second time in one week, I've locked my keys in the Cutlass. The third time, overall. And, of course, I was too stubborn to get an extra set made after the first and second times. I'm likely to repeat this and add another tally for the week. The good new is... I've become a master at breaking into it. Once I have the right tool (read: a metal hanger), it doesn't take much. Since I'm probably going to be too stubborn to actually go out and get an extra key made, I ought to just stick a hanger to my frame. I should be golden. *shakes head* I miss power locks.
